I studied Classics at King’s College Cambridge, where I was awarded a double 1st in Classics. I have several years experience tutoring Latin, Ancient Greek, Classical Civilisation to A-Level, and Maths to GCSE. From 2017-18, I worked as a teacher of Classics at Dulwich College, teaching Latin and Ancient Greek at all ages, on both OCR and Pre-U examination syllabuses. This classroom experience has been invaluable not only in solidifying my knowledge of syllabus requirements, but also in developing a clear and concise teaching method, and the flexibility to explain difficult ideas in a variety of ways. I believe that the best one-to-one tutors create a positive and approachable working environment, and experience tells me this is the best way to achieve high results. I aim to build a friendly atmosphere that allows students to push themselves towards their potential. I know that a key part of developing a student’s self-belief is pin-pointing the best method of learning for the individual, and as such I am always looking for different ways to teach a subject that might help build confidence and understanding - without losing a sense of fun!

Hi, I'm Coco! I'm British but I was born in France and lived there up until my French baccalaureate which I passed with a Distinction. I then studied a four-year Bachelor degree in Spanish and History of Art at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where I graduated with a High 2:1 and distinction in spoken Spanish. I am a very enthusiastic and positive person and I love to communicate with people! I've been teaching English, French and Spanish for the past five years to help finance my studies. I tutor in person in cafés or at students' homes but also online to students that live further away and even abroad. Whether online or in person my students' ages vary between the age of 6 and 55. Online tutoring is incredibly rewarding for students: I have found students gain confidence quicker because it can be less intimidating than face-to-face lessons and nothing is actually different from face-to-face classes (if anything, online tutoring is more practical for teaching too) with interactive exercises and lessons as well as reading, listening and conversation exercises. My teaching methods are as follows: My classes are varied with exercises such as conversation, comprehension, pronunciation, grammar using various supports (concise and clear grammar lessons, newspaper articles, videos, exam exercises) that allow students to never get bored nor see time go by. All exercises vary depending on the student. I like to think that my students don't see our classes as a chore but rather as an hour that is fun and goes by very quickly and it is important to me that students notice their progress after each lesson. I would love to help you progress in English, French or Spanish. Feel free to get in touch for a chat if you are interested!

I am a highly experienced and friendly 11+, GCSE and A-Level tutor. I have been preparing students for exams for nearly a decade and have learnt what how to help each individual succeed. I have also taken a lot of exams myself during my career in NHS Child and Adolescent psychotherapy and research so I know from my own experience what it takes to excel. My experience of working as an NHS Child and Adolescent psychotherapist means that I am highly experienced in working with teenagers who are finding it hard to focus or are feeling lost or demotivated in relation to their work. I have tutored throughout my career, working with primary school students, and preparing students for 11+ and 13+ entry, GCSEs, A-Levels and university exams. I have an excellent track record of supporting students to raise their grades for public exams. I really enjoy working with children from Key stage 1 all the way up to degree level. I have a great deal of experience working with children who have Special Educational needs, ADHD and ASC. I have also worked as a school based English, Psychology, History and Politics GCSE and A-Level tutor. I have led full courses in English GCSE, R.E. GCSE and Psychology A-Level. I have much experience of supporting students to write UCAS statements. I have been trained by University admissions teams to know how students can get Russell Group university offers. I am an experienced proofreader and have worked with many people to help them improve their written English for undergraduate and postgraduate level submissions. I have an excellent track record of supporting students to improve their performance at 11+ and to raise their grades, often by multiple grade boundaries. My experience has taught me that three factors are crucial to helping students excel: Firstly, the student must have complete clarity about what course content they need to learn and what exam technique they need to use to get them the maximum marks. Secondly, students must feel interested in, and connected to, the course content they are learning. My own enjoyment of my studies allowed me to get a First in my degree and to attain 297/300 in my Psychology A-Level and 295/300 in my Politics A-Level, and so I always work to foster a real connection between students and what they are learning. Lastly, my experience of working as a Child and Adolescent psychotherapist also informs my approach to tutoring. I believe that child development and emotional factors like anxiety can really affect how well a student is doing. I have seen many times that if these difficulties can be understood, the barriers to a student`s success can be removed.
