I am currently a third-year medical student at University College London. I am available to tutor immediately and can do weekends too. I have had many valuable opportunities in tutoring that have built up my teaching skills to date. Teaching GCSE and A-Level students at school and after school has developed my skill to adapt my teaching style in order to fit with any candidate's ability and way of learning. Many of the students I have mentored in school have had results above expectations and went on to go to university studying their passions away. I also have had many experiences with a specialised company tutoring medical and dental school applicants for their interviews. I, myself, have had three interviews at UCL, Sheffield and St George's medical schools. I was offered a place to study medicine at the three universities. My diverse experiences in this field and the communication skills that I have developed in medical school allow me to give valuable advice for university admissions and interviews. My 14A*s at GCSE and my 3A*s and 3As at A-level permit me to teach most of the subjects I undertook confidently. I am originally from Egypt, I am fluent in Arabic and half-fluent in French. I am currently undertaking a research project during my medical course in molecular biology, reaching the limits of what we know about cells and disease has allowed me to delve into these subjects beyond what is written in textbooks and journals. I am very passionate about what I study and I carry this through in my lessons. I am also extremely passionate about teaching as this forms a huge part of my future career. Looking forward to helping you achieve your potential. Thank you.

I am currently a student at City, University of London, studying Mathematics with Finance and Economics. Prior to entering university, I have studied in two schools in Bulgaria, which emphasized on teaching mathematics of a high level to their students and always prioritized this subject over the others. In those twelve years of primary and secondary school I have always maintained an excellent academic record. In my twelfth year I took and received an excellent mark on a national exam in mathematics, which tests the knowledge of all 19-years-old students in the country every year and covers everything studied in math classes up to university. The reason for my success in mathematics at school so far has always been the fact that I enjoy the subject. I would truly like to help others enjoy it the way that I do and show them that mathematics can be far easier than it seems. Having studied in Bulgaria in my past, I can offer a different approach at some things, which I think can be of great help to the students. I attended a very competitive high school where I had two exam sessions every year for five years. Those exam sessions usually involved exams on a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 10 subjects. This is why I can say with confidence that, by now, I have become very comfortable with taking exams. I believe that this experience puts me in a position of being able to share valuable skills and knowledge with students who are not that used to attending examinations. Furthermore, I have been taught some methods, especially in mathematics, differently to the way they have been taught here in England. So, I believe a different perspective can sometimes be helpful for students to understand certain concepts before learning how to apply them. I am young and energetic and I am really excited to pursue my recently developed passion for tutoring. I very much enjoyed learning the subject at school and I would love to help others get the same experience as mine. I am looking forward to working with people who are eager to learn. I am patient, and understanding and would love to share my knowledge with others. I am hardworking and passionate for mathematics enough to be able to be helpful and, hopefully, inspiring to the students. I have worked with kids at the ages of 7-10 and, while challenging, it was really fun for me and I think this made it fun and informative for the kids as well. In my experience, the hardest part of working with children was retaining their concentration. This is why I think taking short breaks or talking shortly about something different than the taught subject can sometimes be key for the children to learn. At the end, I managed to help those kids prepare for their end of year exams and they ended up getting good marks. I hope that in the future I will have many more similar experiences and would be able to help many more students achieve excellence.

I am a first year undergraduate at the University of Oxford studying Mathematics and Philosophy with A*A*A*A at A-level in Maths, Further Maths, Ancient Greek and Physics as well as a 1 in STEP 2 and 11 A*s at GCSE. During my last year at school, I tutored pupils from the local area as well as fellow students at my school which I really enjoyed. One of the pupils who I tutored subsequently got into Hampton School at 10+. As someone who is closer in age to my tutees, I am able to develop a connection with students and thereby better approach their learning. Tutoring for me is immensely enjoyable and rewarding. Away from academic studies I also have a keen interest in music and drama - I play the piano, trumpet and guitar and regularly get involved with plays.

Why study German?

Speaking a second language is a highly coveted skill, and is one that is valued within the education system and beyond. German is the most widely spoken native language in Europe, and is the primary language in several countries aside from Germany, including Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg. It is also spoken in large portions of other European countries, including Italy, Denmark and Holland.

Not only is learning the German language hugely beneficial in terms of its scope, Germany also has the third strongest economy in the world. As a result, being able to communicate in German has massive advantages in terms of job prospects. Opportunities are rife on the continent, with multinational companies such as BMW, Siemens, Bosch and Infineon consistently presenting new job opportunities for German speakers. Speaking German opens up opportunities across the board, ranging from teaching positions to working as a diplomat or even a lawyer.

Whilst learning German is hugely rewarding, achieving a top grade in the subject is no mean feat. Taking on the task of learning a language can be tricky at any age, but with the help of one of Tutor Houses’ qualified and passionate German tutors, students can get the most out of their studies and achieve the results that they deserve.

Who can benefit from a private German tutor?

Learning a second language is hugely beneficial both in terms of academic progression and career prospects. Our experienced German tutors will be able to create a learning plan to suit the needs of every individual student. So, whether you’re just starting German for the first time, you’re looking to refine existing skills, or you’re struggling to adjust to University level teaching - Tutor House will have the perfect private tutor for you.

Private primary German tutors - Starting to learn a language at a young age is a great investment of a students time, as the younger you start, the easier it will be. Through establishing a foundational understanding of the basic principles of German at primary level, students will have the sufficient building blocks to move forward from as they progress through the education system.

With the help of a primary German tutor, children can make sure that they are fully equipped to tackle the next stage of learning.
Private GCSE or IGCSE German tutors - GCSEs can be a challenging time for students and language GCSEs can prove particularly difficult due to the various skills that students are expected to demonstrate throughout the course. While many students choose to study German because of its many benefits, some students have no choice if their school requires them to take a language. Whether chosen or not, German GCSE courses will test students in a number of key areas. Students are not only required to read and write in German, but they must also undergo several oral and listening assessments.

Grammar also makes up a reasonable chunk of the German GCSE syllabus, and this alone can provide students with a challenge. Students will have to learn how to tackle all forms of grammar, from tenses to infinitive constructions, to word orders and conjunctions.

It is easy in a school setting for students who are struggling to be overlooked, especially if classes are big. In a setting with a private German tutor this is never an issue. The one-on-one nature of the setting will mean that students are getting the full and undivided attention of their German tutor. This means that students are guaranteed to improve, not only in terms of their knowledge and skills but also in terms of their confidence.
Pre-U, IB or A-Level German tutors - With university places becoming increasingly coveted, attaining the grades that you want at A-Level is becoming more and more important. A-Levels are a big step up from GCSEs, both in terms of the quality and quantity of the work that is expected. Students are not only required to develop and maintain a comprehensive and varied vocabulary, but they will be expected to use this to write and speak about complex societal issues whilst also demonstrating strong grammatical skills.

Hiring a German tutor can make a huge difference to students who are studying A-Level German, and can help them to exceed beyond their own expectations. Our German tutors also offer specialised exam preparation sessions focusing on revision and practicing exam technique.

Our tutors will not only help students to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of German, but they will also be able to assist students in creating effective revision plans and teach them learning techniques that they can carry forward into the rest of their academic careers. Make sure you achieve those top grades and hire a private German A-Level tutor today.
Private Degree Level German tutors - University can be a daunting time for students, and the step up from A-Level to degree is significant, especially in terms of an increase in the workload and the quality of work that students are expected to produce. Hiring a private German tutor to help you with your German degree can make a huge difference, both in terms of grades and overall approach to workload.

From helping students with their grammar to having lengthy conversations with them in German to refine their speaking skills, your German degree tutor will be there every step of the way, making sure you not only meet your goals, but exceed them.
Private German tutors for adult learners - There are a number of reasons that an adult learner may wish to work alongside a private German tutor. Whether you’re looking to attain a new qualification, want to enhance your existing language skills or want to apply for a job that requires a second language, with the help of a private German tutor you could make all your German dreams come true.

Whatever your stage of learning, budget or availability, our tutors will work tirelessly to ensure that you are getting the right learning experience for you, at a convenient time and at a cost that won’t break the bank. Whatever your needs, we can find the perfect German tutor for you.

One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way - Frank Smith

Tutoring FAQs

A

If a tutor is late for a lesson then it is the duty of the tutor to arrange to make up the lost time by finding a time that suits you both, either on the same day or another mutually convenient time. Usually the tutor will make up the time during the lesson. For example if the tutor was 30 minutes late they would stay an extra 30 minutes at the end of the lesson. If this is not possible you can then either ask the tutor to make up the time at the next lesson, or contact us and we will arrange a partial refund for you. If the tutor fails to do this then please contact us via disputes@tutorhouse.co.uk and we will respond to your dispute within 48 hours, if not sooner.

A

While you think it is faster it elevates your risk and you use lose all the benefits of Tutor House policies. Paying the tutor directly is NOT secure nor protected. If you do pay a tutor outside of the Tutor House website you will not be protected by our 48 Hour Cancelation Policy, our Disputes Policy or our Refund Policy. We also can not protect you from fraud or spam accounts. Before messaging a tutor you are required to sign our Terms and Conditions. Any loss of earning would be considered a legal matter. Tutor House is designed to introduce excellent tutors to customers putting tutors in touch with students and learners. We help and support students to get the best out of their learning experience. A

Once you have found tutors which fit your criteria you can send an enquiry to them straight away. Once signed in you will need to fill out your enquiry details and teaching requirements before sending your message to your selected tutors. Simply enter your required subject with the level and your location, and our website will return a list of recommended tutors. You can then filter these tutors according to experience, price, and recommendation. Each tutor has a detailed profile with a personal statement and details about their qualifications and teaching experience.

A

Yes, we do take a fee, but at a fraction of the rate which other companies charge. We don’t have a sign up fee for new customers, we don’t charge an introduction fee, and we don’t charge administration fees. However, we do charge a small commission which pays for the security of tutors (we meet all tutors, check their DBS certificates and ensure they are who they say there are), and the maintenance of the site. If you have any problems using the site, you can always email or call us.

A

If you are running late for a booking then please do let the tutor know via the in-app messenger as soon as possible because the tutor may still have to finish the lesson at the scheduled time, depending on his/her availability. However, tutors will usually try to make up time lost at the end of the session for the intended duration, although it’s important to note that this is at the tutor’s discretion. Tutors will usually wait for 30 minutes, but again this is at the tutor’s discretion – tutors may well have to leave at the original time for another lesson. If you are late for the lesson, tutors will charge for the full amount that has been agreed and confirmed. We operate a 48 hour cancellation policy, which means that if you cancel the lesson with 48 hours you will be charged the full amount.

A

After selecting your tutor for your desired material, you can book a lesson right away! Send an inquiry to your selected Tutor and once a tutor accepts your inquiry, it will be registered as an ‘open enquiry’ within your messages tab. This is where you will be able to communicate with our tutors, discuss your requirements, arrange lesson times, and book and pay for lessons. When you submit your booking request, the credit card details provided will be subject to an authorisation hold (to the total amount agreed with the tutor for the cost of the initial session and for any other lessons which will take place thereafter). Not only that, but you can also rate and review your tutor once you’ve had your lesson! Tutor House values your feedback.

A

Once you have made the lesson request, you can communicate with the tutor. You can discuss your tuition requirements and the lesson timing with in-app instant messaging. The messaging is instant, so your tutor will receive the notification via both; the website and email. Hence he or she can respond to immediately. You may wish to discuss your preferred lesson time and date, or discuss which exam board you’re studying for A-levels and GCSE’s, or even to discuss specific text and books which you are currently studying. Also, You can communicate with the tutor with the instant in-app messaging at any point (before or after the booking has been made). Please note that it is possible for you and the tutor to mutually agree to booking changes after this stage. This must be done within the messenger app on the website. You can also use the same means of comunication to find out more about the tutor, after you have requested a booking. In addition to this you can always check the tutors reviews and ranking.

A

By default, when searching for a tutor you will be shown the nearest tutors to your location. Travelling longer distances may incur additional travel costs; however the tutor will inform you if this is the case, and any travel costs can be mutually agreed before the lesson is booked. Most tutors would expect to travel up to 45 minutes to get you, at no extra cost. If there are additional charges the tutor will make you aware of that. You can always ask the tutor for online lessons if there is the possibility of travel costs being added to the costs of your lessons. Most of our Tutors infact use Skype and can carry out lessons online with no additional cost. Sometimes online courses is the perfect answer.

A

Tutor House endeavours to ensure that both tutors and clients have the best possible experience with our service. We’re always here to help, so do reach out and contact us. If you ever have unresolved disputes with your tutor we will assist you in reaching a mutual agreement. We will do our utmost to try and resolve all disputes; however we may not be in a position to resolve every dispute. Please contact us via disputes@tutorhouse.co.uk and we will respond to your dispute within 48 hours, if not sooner.
