Hi I am Tamoor and I Teach Math and Higher National Subjects for Electrical Engineers. I am an Electrical Engineer with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineer and an ongoing PhD in Electrical and Electronics. I have 6+ years of experience of teaching from level 4 onward to level 7 in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mathematics (Calculus, Algebra, Pure Math, and everything about Math) and Physics. I understand Engineering as I have worked in different Industries previously from manufacturing to operational and maintenance work. These experiences of industries gave me an opportunity to excel with engineering day to day scenarios and challenges. However, on top of my technical, administrative and industrial skills, I am very much interested in teaching and problem-solving. I love to teach Math being an Engineer and could participate in some Physics and Science work. I have strong background and Knowledge of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and specialize in Pearson B-Tech. up to B-ENG level teaching. I can Teach Electrical Engineering and Math for Cambridge, Edexcel, OCR and Pearson Exam Boards. Any other exam boards can also be discussed. Any further Information needed- please never hesitate to click on message.

I have just graduated from the Warwick which is in the top 5 in the university rankings for universities in the UK for Mathematics. I studied Discrete Mathematics for 3 years achieving a third degree class Bsc with honours. I achieve an A* and an A in A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics respectfully. I have 7 months of experience tutoring GCSE Mathematics at a tuition centre. I have been able to help students with their understanding of Mathematics which can be shown by the increase in the percentage they scored when they had their first mock compared to their second, one student went from getting 34% to 83% and another went 53% to 89%. I like to make sure I plan with my students on what work we will be doing for each individual day and then make more long term plans as well so that they know what to expect. This also enables my students to see their own progress which is significant for students as this gratification will make them more optimistic about getting a better grade than they started off with. Making it fun while maintaining professional is vital as this allows for students to enjoy it while they work and they are more likely to keep focus rather than working in total silence the entire session leading them to getting bored and tired.

I was one of the highest achievers at High School and continue to do well academically at Loughborough University, where I am a 2nd year Mechanical Engineering student. I achieved 81% in my first year at University and am on course for a similar score for 2nd year. I also got 9 A* in my GCSE's and 3 A* in Physics, Math and Accounts and an A in Chemistry in A-levels. I also completed Further Math in A-levels, and have continued to do it in University, so I have a very good grasp of the concepts taught and in-depth knowledge of it as well. I hope to use my knowledge and abilities in these fields to help students who may be finding some of these concepts difficult to understand. I have been able to help numerous of my fellow classmates with exam problems and doubts they have, which has then helped them to score well for the exams and tests, and eventually helped them to progress to the Universities of their choice. Having studied math and excelled in it, I believe the best way to learn and improve in the subject is by practicing numerous questions from different books and past papers. This is what I focused on mostly when I was studying math during school and University and is the best way to prepare for the exams. Practicing questions is what I would focus on as a tutor as well, and it would expose students to different types of questions and tricky situations, and would enable them to be well-prepared for whatever the exam throws at them. During my time at school and even at University, I also made it a point to never be overburdened with academics, and I regularly played sports, like football and cricket, to keep my mind attentive and sharp. This is something I would suggest to any students doing their GCSE's or A-levels, as some form of exercise is a good way to relax and to ensure that you remain focused.

Tutoring FAQs

A

Finding a tutor with Tutor House is fast, simple, and secure. Our online tutoring platform helps you find, message and book tutors within a few clicks. Simply enter your required subject with the level and your location, and our website will return a list of recommended tutors. You can then filter these tutors according to experience, price, and recommendation. Each tutor has a detailed profile with a personal statement and details about their qualifications and teaching experience.

A

After selecting your tutor for your desired material, you can book a lesson right away! Send an inquiry to your selected Tutor and once a tutor accepts your inquiry, it will be registered as an ‘open enquiry’ within your messages tab. This is where you will be able to communicate with our tutors, discuss your requirements, arrange lesson times, and book and pay for lessons. When you submit your booking request, the credit card details provided will be subject to an authorisation hold (to the total amount agreed with the tutor for the cost of the initial session and for any other lessons which will take place thereafter). Not only that, but you can also rate and review your tutor once you’ve had your lesson! Tutor House values your feedback.

A

If you are running late for a booking then please do let the tutor know via the in-app messenger as soon as possible because the tutor may still have to finish the lesson at the scheduled time, depending on his/her availability. However, tutors will usually try to make up time lost at the end of the session for the intended duration, although it’s important to note that this is at the tutor’s discretion. Tutors will usually wait for 30 minutes, but again this is at the tutor’s discretion – tutors may well have to leave at the original time for another lesson. If you are late for the lesson, tutors will charge for the full amount that has been agreed and confirmed. We operate a 48 hour cancellation policy, which means that if you cancel the lesson with 48 hours you will be charged the full amount.

A

Once you have found tutors which fit your criteria you can send an enquiry to them straight away. You’ll need to register with Tutor House before you can contact tutors (this is to order to ensure that you are protected by our Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy). To send an enquiry to your selected tutor(s) add them to your enquiry list and confirm by pressing the button at the bottom of the page. If you are a new user you will then be asked to register. If you are a returning user you will be prompted to sign into your account. Once signed in you will need to fill out your enquiry details and teaching requirements before sending your message to your selected tutors. After the enquiry has been sent we will contact you within 48 hours. If your tutor of choice has not replied within this time we will either contact them on your behalf or put you in touch with another of our highly experienced tutors.

A

Booking and paying for private tuition has never been easier! As a customer, you’ll need to add your credit or debt card details to your profile after you sign in. You can pay the tutor directly and securely through the Tutor House website. However, if you do pay outside of the Tutor House site, you will not be protected by our 48 hour Cancelation Policy, nor our Disputes or Refunds Policy, we also do not guarantee that you’ll be protected from fraud. You will then receive a confirmation email notifying you of the hours completed with the tutor. The email will also confirm the date and time that the lesson(s) took place. Payment will be automatically processed by Tutor House’s Payment Service Provider (PSP). We do not charge you a joining fee or an administration fee, instead we allow you to interact with your chosen tutor directly. You pay the tutor online using a debit or credit card, with your booking being secure and private. Our tutors get paid on the same day of the lesson, so please make sure that you’ve confirmed the lesson before your tutor arrives. Of course! We use Stripe as our third party payment platform. Stripe are PCI compliant, so you’re protected from fraud, and can we issued refunds without any cost to you. (But only if you pay through the website, please see our terms).

A

Once you have made the lesson request, you can communicate with the tutor. You can discuss your tuition requirements and the lesson timing with in-app instant messaging. The messaging is instant, so your tutor will receive the notification via both; the website and email. Hence he or she can respond to immediately. You may wish to discuss your preferred lesson time and date, or discuss which exam board you’re studying for A-levels and GCSE’s, or even to discuss specific text and books which you are currently studying. Also, You can communicate with the tutor with the instant in-app messaging at any point (before or after the booking has been made). Please note that it is possible for you and the tutor to mutually agree to booking changes after this stage. This must be done within the messenger app on the website. You can also use the same means of comunication to find out more about the tutor, after you have requested a booking. In addition to this you can always check the tutors reviews and ranking.

A

Tutor House endeavours to ensure that both tutors and clients have the best possible experience with our service. We’re always here to help, so do reach out and contact us. If you ever have unresolved disputes with your tutor we will assist you in reaching a mutual agreement. We will do our utmost to try and resolve all disputes; however we may not be in a position to resolve every dispute. Please contact us via disputes@tutorhouse.co.uk and we will respond to your dispute within 48 hours, if not sooner.

A

Yes, we do take a fee, but at a fraction of the rate which other companies charge. We don’t have a sign up fee for new customers, we don’t charge an introduction fee, and we don’t charge administration fees. However, we do charge a small commission which pays for the security of tutors (we meet all tutors, check their DBS certificates and ensure they are who they say there are), and the maintenance of the site. If you have any problems using the site, you can always email or call us.

A

By default, when searching for a tutor you will be shown the nearest tutors to your location. Travelling longer distances may incur additional travel costs; however the tutor will inform you if this is the case, and any travel costs can be mutually agreed before the lesson is booked. Most tutors would expect to travel up to 45 minutes to get you, at no extra cost. If there are additional charges the tutor will make you aware of that. You can always ask the tutor for online lessons if there is the possibility of travel costs being added to the costs of your lessons. Most of our Tutors infact use Skype and can carry out lessons online with no additional cost. Sometimes online courses is the perfect answer.

A

While you think it is faster it elevates your risk and you use lose all the benefits of Tutor House policies. Paying the tutor directly is NOT secure nor protected. If you do pay a tutor outside of the Tutor House website you will not be protected by our 48 Hour Cancelation Policy, our Disputes Policy or our Refund Policy. We also can not protect you from fraud or spam accounts. Before messaging a tutor you are required to sign our Terms and Conditions. Any loss of earning would be considered a legal matter. Tutor House is designed to introduce excellent tutors to customers putting tutors in touch with students and learners. We help and support students to get the best out of their learning experience. If you use the Tutor House website you must complete all bookings within the online platform, including the arrangement of any other services provided by tutors for clients. If you make any arrangement with a tutor that you were introduced to through Tutor House, outside the online platform, either for tuition or payment, you will have broken our terms and conditions. In this case, neither the tutor or customer (parent or student) will be protected or covered, as mentioned above. For more information about payment please refer to our terms and conditions.
