History Pre-U is designed to challenge students’ thinking in an ornate theme. Obtaining a D1 or D2 in History Pre-U is essential for students hoping to attend their first-choice university.

The Cambridge Pre-U History exam is composed of four components chosen by the student, which are (2019-2021 syllabus):
- 1 – Papers 1–4 History Outlines – Two hour and fifteen minute external exam (for each of two papers) – weighing 25% each (90 marks each)
- 2 –Paper 5 Special Subject – Two hour external exam – weighing 25% (60 marks)
- 3 – Personal Investigation – One hour and forty-five minute external exam – weighing 25% (60 marks)
