Will school deficits increase the need for private tuition?
A third of English maintained secondary schools faced huge budget deficits towards the end of 2018, questioning the stability of the school system and the need for private tuition.
According to The Guardian, deficits soared to nearly £500,000 for schools involved.
The realization was made first by the Department of Education in findings they had discovered over a few years’ analysis. As of 2017-2018, the number of schools in financial danger increased to 30%– an all-time high in England. The same financial troubles were faced by primary schools, doubling their deficit to 8% in 2017-2018 compared to their 4% as of 2014-2015.
How do these deficits affect students?
Due to these deficits, schools have increased class sizes tremendously. Schools have had to cut down staffing as much as possible. Schools will only be able to offer the bare minimum, which will have a hugely negative impact on parents and students. Therefore, these are all the changes that make learning in a classroom virtually impossible. They may also explain the need for private tuition.
How can private tuition help?
Home tuition, learning online and home tutor are all topics that have been increasingly searched for this year on Google. Based on the troubles schools are facing, one can easily understand why that may be. The various forms of private tuition have been sought after by parents and students to keep up with the demanding workloads and inability to get one-on-one attention that schools are no longer able to provide. Seeking private tuition is not only beneficial, but necessary in order to earn desired grades in all subjects and levels.
