I am an experienced professional tutor with a First class Bachelor's degree in Physics and Philosophy from the University of Bristol. I am going on to study a Masters in History and Philosophy of Science either at Cambridge or the LSE (I haven't yet decided!) This interdisciplinarity commits me to well-informed, creative and self-generated ways of thought which I encourage in all my pupils. I have been a professional tutor for 6 years and besides tutoring my primary subjects of Natural Sciences, Maths and Philosophy I have given guidance with academic confidence, writing skills and exam technique. I am very comfortable with all syllabuses and am aware of the examiners expectations and motivations for the new style exams. Every one of my students has excelled and received A*/A grades at GCSE and A-level. I have a conversational style, part lesson and part problem solving. I pay lots of attention to how pupils engage with and work with specific problems. This allows me to simultaneously understand gaps in knowledge as well as technical and analytical reasoning. I am expert in helping students with formulating their thoughts and pushing themselves to be creative in how they handle the knowledge they take from school. By helping pupils explore how they learn they become comfortably able to present their knowledge with clarity- essential in both real life and exam settings. Most recently I was employed to deliver science lesson plans to a group of year 7 and 8 students of mixed ability from minority backgrounds. I instructed groups of 15 students and learnt a huge amount of techniques to garner respect and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning. I made an effort to incorporate interesting subject matter that connected obscure scientific topics to the world around them and gave them a taste of the activities and concepts encountered at graduate level studies. I left this job because I moved from Bristol to London. As part of my degree, I mentored a group of five fifteen year old children from Pakistan. Over the course of 6 weeks we developed comfortable bonds and were able to discuss Schrodingers cat as well as special relativity, accessed through a brief history of our conception of space. I was awarded the highest mark in the group for my efforts. The powerful dynamics of small groups brought to light the dangers of large class sizes where students are easily made to feel like unworthy contributors. "Samar was an excellent tutor to my sister, Andrea, through her A-levels. Andrea had chosen Physics and Maths out of a passion for the subjects but was held back by inadequate teaching in her GCSE’s. This meant that she was in need of a supervisor that could identify where the gaps in her knowledge were so that she could receive training for the tools she needed. Samar was instrumental in building knowledge and confidence so that Andrea could expertly grasp the topics and achieve A* grades. As soon as he started tutoring, Andrea related to us that Samar had helped her understand her weaknesses and shown her how to improve." -- Jemal, parent.

What do I bring to teaching? In addition to subject knowledge, I bring maturity, life experiences and passion for sharing into teaching. Qualified Teacher, with a University Diploma of Masters in the field of Mechanics, from the “Politehnica” University of Bucharest, I worked for the first ten years of my professional career as Lecturer at the same University, with the passion for teaching Mechanics, Machinery Design and Computer Aided Design. To be updated with the current school curriculum, I successfully followed the Secondary Mathematics Teacher Subject Specialism Training Course, Higher Tier GCSE Mathematics and I acquired the CERTIFICATE OF MATHEMATICAL MASTERY, Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching, University of Plymouth. I work with students having a different level of knowledge both in Maths and English, from KS3 to GCSE. I have experience working with EAL students. Why use an online Sociology tutor?

There are numerous benefits to working with an online Sociology tutor. Sociology is a broad and intensely interesting subject in addition to being one of the most renowned social sciences. Sociology courses take an in-depth look at society, the individual, and how they interact with each other. Students will consider a vast range of social theories, debate social issues, and develop a number of practical research methodologies. Whether a student is taking Sociology at GCSE, University or beyond, they can emerge with a phenomenal understanding of the formation, structure and processes in society as well as their place within it.

Though undeniably rewarding, studying Sociology at any level can be exceedingly taxing, stretching students skills in a range of areas and requiring the absorption of a huge amount of knowledge. Many students struggle with at least some aspects of their course, which can lead to a lack of confidence, demotivation, stress and grades that don’t reflect the student’s full potential. Working with an online Sociology tutor is a great way for every student to access the support they need in order to thrive on their Sociology course. The flexibility of online tuition means students can receive sessions at a time and place that suits them. With all of our online tutors' experts in their field, working with a Sociology tutor online is a great way for students to access the help they need to reach their academic goals.

Who could benefit from online Sociology Tuition?

Equal parts challenging and rewarding, Sociology is a subject where the support of a specialist tutor can prove fundamental to a student’s success. With online Sociology tuition offering such a plethora of benefits, from increased flexibility to lower costs and a range of online teaching materials, working with an online Sociology tutor can benefit students at every point of their academic journey and beyond.

Online GCSE or IGCSE Sociology Tuition - GCSE or IGCSE Sociology courses are a students first possible opportunity to study Sociology in an academic setting - although many schools will not offer the subject at GCSE level. Those students who begin studying Sociology for GCSE or equivalent are likely to be better equipped for a Sociology A-level and Degree, in addition to acquiring a wealth of knowledge about society, how it is structured and how it influences the individual. However, taking on a subject as complex and information heavy as Sociology for the first time at GCSE is extremely taxing. Students cover a general overview and introduction to Sociology, it’s main theories and methodologies, before diving into specific sociological topics such as society and the family, crime and deviance, education, gender or race and ethnicity. Students will be required to demonstrate quantitative data collection and analysis in addition to a nuanced understanding of social theories. They will also need to memorise a number of case studies in order to illustrate their points and support their analysis.

The sheer quantity of information students must absorb to succeed in their Sociology GCSE can easily leave them feeling overwhelmed. Working with an online Sociology tutor can make all the difference to GCSE students. GCSE Sociology tutors are experts in the course syllabuses for all the main exam boards so can offer precise and targeted support for students throughout the course. From explaining complex social theories to providing memorable case studies and targeted exam revision, online Sociology tutors will support students every step of the way. With flexible tuition, students can book support when and where they need it, ensuring they can always get the help they need to succeed at this vital point in their academic career.
Online A-level or Pre-U Sociology Tuition - For many students, A-level may be their first opportunity to study Sociology in an academic setting. Even for students who studied the subject at GCSE or equivalent, the A-level course marks a considerable increase in the academic rigour required for a top grade. The course caters for students who are new to the subject by providing an overview of the key sociology methodologies, before turning to the study of specific areas of sociology in far greater detail. Students will be expected to handle larger and more complex sets of social data and demonstrate a more nuanced and analytical appraisal of social structures, processes, theories and issues.

Many students find Sociology an extremely challenging A-level, which, combined with the pressure of achieving top grades can leave them feeling overwhelmed. Working with an online Sociology tutor is a great way to mitigate stress and ensure students both enjoy and succeed in their A-level Sociology course. As experts in the A-level curriculum, online Sociology tutors can give specific support that is sure to help students make sense of the materials and get top marks in their assesments. Online tuition makes fitting lessons around busy A-level schedules easy in addition to providing a wealth of extra learning resources. Ensure academic success at this vital point in your educational journey and find your perfect online Sociology tutor with tutor house.
Online University Sociology Tuition - Sociology is an increasingly popular subject for University level study, both as a single and joint honors degree. With its unique blend of qualitative and quantitative research methods, theoretical debate and real-life applications, Sociology is an incredibly rewarding degree with a broad range of potential careers for graduates. However, University Sociology courses are extremely challenging and many students stuggle to adjust to the increased academic rigour, vastly different learning style, and plethora of new responsibilities inherent in University life.

An online Sociology tutor can help to smooth the transition to University, offering expert academic support through every stage of the course and ensuring students develop the learning skills they need to thrive in University and beyond. Online tuition is perfect for the hectic schedules of University students, enabling them to access tuition from their dorm room, the library, a cafe or even on the bus! With many of our online Sociology tutors also working as University lecturers and professors, students are guaranteed an unrivalled level of Sociology expertise and all the support they need to thrive at University.
Online Sociology Tuition for Adult Learners - The highly relevant nature of Sociology makes it a subject with application in a range of professions. As a result, there are many reasons why an adult may wish to study a Sociology qualification. Whether it is to improve your work performance or prepare for a promotion, facilitate a change in career, or simply to better understand the social world around you, working with an online Sociology tutor is the perfect way to ensure you meet your goals. With the hectic nature of adult life, the flexibility of online tuition makes it easy to fit tuition around even the busiest of schedules. All of our online Sociology tutors are experienced in teaching students of every age and level, so are able to cultivate a tuition program that ensures you get the most out of each session and exceed your goals with ease. Tutoring FAQs

A

If a tutor is late for a lesson then it is the duty of the tutor to arrange to make up the lost time by finding a time that suits you both, either on the same day or another mutually convenient time. Usually the tutor will make up the time during the lesson. For example if the tutor was 30 minutes late they would stay an extra 30 minutes at the end of the lesson. If this is not possible you can then either ask the tutor to make up the time at the next lesson, or contact us and we will arrange a partial refund for you. If the tutor fails to do this then please contact us via disputes@tutorhouse.co.uk and we will respond to your dispute within 48 hours, if not sooner.

A

Tutor House endeavours to ensure that both tutors and clients have the best possible experience with our service. We’re always here to help, so do reach out and contact us. If you ever have unresolved disputes with your tutor we will assist you in reaching a mutual agreement. We will do our utmost to try and resolve all disputes; however we may not be in a position to resolve every dispute. Please contact us via disputes@tutorhouse.co.uk and we will respond to your dispute within 48 hours, if not sooner.

A

Yes, we do take a fee, but at a fraction of the rate which other companies charge. We don’t have a sign up fee for new customers, we don’t charge an introduction fee, and we don’t charge administration fees. However, we do charge a small commission which pays for the security of tutors (we meet all tutors, check their DBS certificates and ensure they are who they say there are), and the maintenance of the site. If you have any problems using the site, you can always email or call us.

A

Booking and paying for private tuition has never been easier! As a customer, you’ll need to add your credit or debt card details to your profile after you sign in. You can pay the tutor directly and securely through the Tutor House website. However, if you do pay outside of the Tutor House site, you will not be protected by our 48 hour Cancelation Policy, nor our Disputes or Refunds Policy, we also do not guarantee that you’ll be protected from fraud. You will then receive a confirmation email notifying you of the hours completed with the tutor. The email will also confirm the date and time that the lesson(s) took place. Payment will be automatically processed by Tutor House’s Payment Service Provider (PSP). We do not charge you a joining fee or an administration fee, instead we allow you to interact with your chosen tutor directly. You pay the tutor online using a debit or credit card, with your booking being secure and private. Our tutors get paid on the same day of the lesson, so please make sure that you’ve confirmed the lesson before your tutor arrives. Of course! We use Stripe as our third party payment platform. Stripe are PCI compliant, so you’re protected from fraud, and can we issued refunds without any cost to you. (But only if you pay through the website, please see our terms).

A

Once you have found tutors which fit your criteria you can send an enquiry to them straight away. You’ll need to register with Tutor House before you can contact tutors (this is to order to ensure that you are protected by our Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy). To send an enquiry to your selected tutor(s) add them to your enquiry list and confirm by pressing the button at the bottom of the page. If you are a new user you will then be asked to register. If you are a returning user you will be prompted to sign into your account. Once signed in you will need to fill out your enquiry details and teaching requirements before sending your message to your selected tutors. After the enquiry has been sent we will contact you within 48 hours. If your tutor of choice has not replied within this time we will either contact them on your behalf or put you in touch with another of our highly experienced tutors.

A

If you are running late for a booking then please do let the tutor know via the in-app messenger as soon as possible because the tutor may still have to finish the lesson at the scheduled time, depending on his/her availability. However, tutors will usually try to make up time lost at the end of the session for the intended duration, although it’s important to note that this is at the tutor’s discretion. Tutors will usually wait for 30 minutes, but again this is at the tutor’s discretion – tutors may well have to leave at the original time for another lesson. If you are late for the lesson, tutors will charge for the full amount that has been agreed and confirmed. We operate a 48 hour cancellation policy, which means that if you cancel the lesson with 48 hours you will be charged the full amount.

A

Yes. All tutors must have a valid DBS certificate before their profile goes live on the Tutor House site. We do in-house DBS checks, which means we get DBS done very quickly. If a tutor’s DBS certificate is not validated or has expired then their profile will taken down until a new DBS certificate is issued. Although this is completely over to the tutor to notify us when it has expired. Once we’ve checked the tutors DBS, we are not responsible for keeping it up to date. A DBS (Disclosed Baring Service) is a way of checking tutors. Tutor House performs a background check, and a police checks. We make sure that all tutors are suitable to work with children and adults, before their profiles go live. The DBS replaced the CRB.

A

Finding a tutor with Tutor House is fast, simple, and secure. Our online tutoring platform helps you find, message and book tutors within a few clicks. Simply enter your required subject with the level and your location, and our website will return a list of recommended tutors. You can then filter these tutors according to experience, price, and recommendation. Each tutor has a detailed profile with a personal statement and details about their qualifications and teaching experience.

A

Once you have made the lesson request, you can communicate with the tutor. You can discuss your tuition requirements and the lesson timing with in-app instant messaging. The messaging is instant, so your tutor will receive the notification via both; the website and email. Hence he or she can respond to immediately. You may wish to discuss your preferred lesson time and date, or discuss which exam board you’re studying for A-levels and GCSE’s, or even to discuss specific text and books which you are currently studying. Also, You can communicate with the tutor with the instant in-app messaging at any point (before or after the booking has been made). Please note that it is possible for you and the tutor to mutually agree to booking changes after this stage. This must be done within the messenger app on the website. You can also use the same means of comunication to find out more about the tutor, after you have requested a booking. In addition to this you can always check the tutors reviews and ranking.

A

Yes, we operate a 48 hour cancellation policy. Our policy protects both tutor and customer. You can cancel your booking without incurring any charges as long as it’s cancelled at least 48 hours before the lesson is due to take place. However, if you cancel your lesson within 48 hours you will be charged the full amount. If there is an unforeseen circumstance, then both the tutor and Tutor House will discuss this with you. In some situations lessons can be rescheduled (free of charge), but this is at the tutor’s discretion.

Hello, I am a NewmansUniversity History graduate, who has also got 3 A-Levels and 11 GCSE’s. I have also done my Level 3 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce, so my Education is quite wide spread. I am currently a Deputy Childcare Manager and HLTA within a local infant school. I want to be a tutor as I feel I have quite a lot to offer each individual and enjoy helping others. I am a bubbly, patient and understanding person, so if you struggle to understand something, then thats ok, I will just go over it again or in a slightly different way, to ensure you understand it. So just a little bit about me. Im a single mom, I have my own car and own home. I work hard, I have excellent communication skills and teaching techniques, which is needed for my current job and this. I am just looking to help as many individuals as I can, to get then to where they need to be. Thanks
