I am an enthusiastic tutor from London, currently reading Ancient History at King's College London and predicted to graduate with first class honours. I have experience teaching at a primary and secondary school where I planned and delivered effective weekly sessions to students. I have extensive experience in humanities, Russian and English ,and have helped students with interviews, CVs, cover letters, UCAS and public speaking. During my three years of tutoring, my students have achieved As and A*s in all of their exams and have been to gain places on various prestigious internships. During my time at university, I have secured internships at Morgan Stanley, Bloomberg LP, Sabre Fund Management ( a London based hedge fund). I was the best novice speaker and the semi-finalist of London's largest debating competition - SOAS IV, hold committee positions at various societies, including my university's investment fund. I am responsible and committed to helping others reach their academic potential and grow.
I am an energetic and creative Masters-educated tutor with a passion for teaching. I started tutoring while I was in high school and focused specifically on CIE A-Levels as well as UCAS and Personal Statement advice. I successfully secured places in some of London's top universities and can help other students do so. I have 4 years experience tutoring and believe that my strength lies in forging personal connections with my tutees which helps me better understand their needs, not so long ago I was their peer meaning I can thoroughly emphasise with their concerns and struggles. To see the best results, I believe that study programmes must be tailored to each student, with realistic and achievable milestones and goals being outlined. So far, the students I tutored attained or surpassed their academic goals, achieving A's in the A-Level exams I tutored them for and securing places at top UK universities.
I am a highly experienced and friendly 11+, GCSE and A-Level tutor. I have been preparing students for exams for nearly a decade and have learnt what how to help each individual succeed. I have also taken a lot of exams myself during my career in NHS Child and Adolescent psychotherapy and research so I know from my own experience what it takes to excel. My experience of working as an NHS Child and Adolescent psychotherapist means that I am highly experienced in working with teenagers who are finding it hard to focus or are feeling lost or demotivated in relation to their work. I have tutored throughout my career, working with primary school students, and preparing students for 11+ and 13+ entry, GCSEs, A-Levels and university exams. I have an excellent track record of supporting students to raise their grades for public exams. I really enjoy working with children from Key stage 1 all the way up to degree level. I have a great deal of experience working with children who have Special Educational needs, ADHD and ASC. I have also worked as a school based English, Psychology, History and Politics GCSE and A-Level tutor. I have led full courses in English GCSE, R.E. GCSE and Psychology A-Level. I have much experience of supporting students to write UCAS statements. I have been trained by University admissions teams to know how students can get Russell Group university offers. I am an experienced proofreader and have worked with many people to help them improve their written English for undergraduate and postgraduate level submissions. I have an excellent track record of supporting students to improve their performance at 11+ and to raise their grades, often by multiple grade boundaries. My experience has taught me that three factors are crucial to helping students excel: Firstly, the student must have complete clarity about what course content they need to learn and what exam technique they need to use to get them the maximum marks. Secondly, students must feel interested in, and connected to, the course content they are learning. My own enjoyment of my studies allowed me to get a First in my degree and to attain 297/300 in my Psychology A-Level and 295/300 in my Politics A-Level, and so I always work to foster a real connection between students and what they are learning. Lastly, my experience of working as a Child and Adolescent psychotherapist also informs my approach to tutoring. I believe that child development and emotional factors like anxiety can really affect how well a student is doing. I have seen many times that if these difficulties can be understood, the barriers to a student`s success can be removed.
Hi, I'm Jacob, a graduate with a first class degree in History and a strong background in Maths with an A* at A-Level and a prize in Further Mathematics. My History experience focuses on modern imperial history and I have a strong foundation of many of the GCSE and A-Level History topics. At heart I'm a very curious person with a strong interest in all of the subjects I tutor. I’ve always found it rewarding to be able to help others; over the years I’ve gravitated towards teaching roles, whether it be tuition in school or coaching on the sports field. During my GCSE years, I offered one-to-one Maths mentoring to struggling students aged between 12 and 14. One a weekly basis I spent fifty minute periods working through problem questions and explaining core concepts with pupils. Whilst at University, I also spent time tutoring and providing university admissions assistance. I am proud to say that many of the students that I tutored achieved their subject and university admissions goals. It’s inspiring to be able to help someone else achieve their goals, so when I tutor I aim to take pupils through what they have accomplished, and what could be improved. This way, students become more aware of how they have developed over the course of the lessons, hopefully adding to confidence in their abilities.

I am also experienced in teaching Sociology at KS4. I've been a History teacher in London schools for the past 10 years, delivering all aspects of the History curriculum from KS3-KS5. I have also been responsible for the creation and teaching of new GCSE sociology scheme of work. I have a proven ability for supporting students at KS4 and 5 across a range of exam boards. I'm very experienced in understanding curriculum content and the skills required for pupil success. This includes understanding the demands of the new GCSE curriculum and the new linear A levels. My main aim when teaching is simply to ensure that a student should leave my lessons with a greater knowledge and understanding of the subject and an increased confidence in their own abilities. I have always found that the best teaching should be a conversation between student and tutor, with the student always taking an active role in their learning. I am highly adept at creating lessons, which are varied and engaging but also structured and targeted to reflect the needs of the student. I am committed to promoting active learning, whilst imparting knowledge, creating understanding and improving results.
I have three years’ experience teaching in one-to-one and group settings. I am a Cambridge university graduate with a degree in Classics, and prior to starting my own business, I spent two years teaching English as a foreign language in the French Caribbean and France. Passionate about the French language I am an advanced French speaker and am equally excited by Latin and all things relating to the ancient world. Working as a Latin summer school teacher, I was commended for my ability to pass on my enthusiasm for the subject to my students. I also have experience teaching performing arts, having run my own dance school when I was 16 years’ old. As a mentor, I enjoy developing individuals and set out to help people achieve their best. Having successfully been through 11+, 13+ and 16+ entrance exams, with an excellent academic record, and listed as one of Elle’s top female entrepreneurs under 30, I understand that success first begins with your state of mind. Alongside coaching students through their subjects, I work with them to develop their confidence and instil a belief that “they can”. Subjects I cover: • Latin: all levels to A-level • Classics: all levels to A-level • French: all levels to A-level • Government & Politics: all levels to A-level **** About Me I am a performing arts enthusiast and my debut play has been shortlisted for multiple awards. I am a passionate, friendly and Masters Level experienced tutor in English and arts-based subjects! My academic background is mainly within English and Drama, with a specialism in Shakespeare too! Through this, it has become a passion of mine to develop a clear and accessible way for students to understand these practices. I have recently completed my MA in Theatre Criticism and Dramaturgy at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama but I hope to fulfil PhD study in the future. For the past three years, I have privately tutored in A Level/GCSE English and Drama, Shakespeare, Vocal Coaching and Dissertation/Essay help at Degree Level in Drama/English. I am particularly proud of my Shakespeare group who range from the age of 8 to 14, and this is a group setting where the children are able to explore Shakespeare in a literary and theatrical sense. They can improve their confidence and voices through their speeches, and culture through their learning about the plays. I always try and make my lessons hit assessment objectives so they are helpful for the children in schools. I would be happy to tutor Shakespearean Studies at all levels up to degree level due to my specialism and skills. As someone who has struggled with self-belief when it came to my academic abilities, I am aware of how this can daunt students. I understand that people develop at different paces and have different ways of learning. In my lessons there is no such thing as a stupid question – curiosity is always encouraged! I like to adapt my lessons to how that particular student learns in order to reach their full potential.
