I have worked in London as a teacher of A-level Biology and Psychology for the last 10 years, serving as head of department in a top London school for three of those. During that time I have also worked as a private tutor, for which I have focused upon inspiring pupils with enthusiasm for the subject, presenting material in a relatable and relevant manner and honing exam technique. Alongside working with Tutor House, I am an AQA Examiner for Psychology.

I have ten years of experience as a teacher of History and Head of Department in London. My main aim when teaching is simply to ensure that a student should leave my lessons with a greater knowledge and understanding of the subject and an increased confidence in their own abilities. I have always found that the best teaching should be a conversation between student and tutor, with the student always taking an active role in their learning.

Testimonials

Within half an hour of meeting the Principal and my tutor, I felt at home. Many of the memories I forged at Tutor House have been carried with me, for it was formative not only in attaining the results to get to UCL but equally in furthering me as an academic.

Richard C, Student

Tutor House not only provided for our daughter a way forward at a difficult time, but a transformational experience. Over two years two fine tutors taught our daughter in English Literature and Politics, which enabled her to complete her qualifications and for which she received an A* in both subjects. She is on her way to Cambridge!

Rafael G, Parent

Tutor House helped with my resits in PE and Psychology going from BBB to A*AB. They assisted with personal statement writing for UCAS and university, giving me tips and advice which contributed to me getting an offer to study at the University of Birmingham.
