I am currently studying Biochemistry at University of Oxford having finished schooling at North London Collegiate School where I gained 45/45 in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. I have had previous experience tutoring IB biology, chemistry, English, maths and economics as well as GCSE French, English, maths, biology and chemistry. I believe in altering my teaching style according to the student and have had experience in tutoring a variety of different academic abilities and ages. I am extremely organised and am happy to go above and beyond in regards to preparation and gathering resources to help the student. My experience in tutoring for IB and GCSE means that I am good at ensuring that all parts of the syllabus are covered and that the student is well informed of what’s expected in the exam. One of my IB students was recently admitted to Tufts University in Massachusetts while other students that I am currently tutoring for SAT are currently applying for numerous highly ranked American Universities.

I am a fully qualified medical doctor having graduated in 2015 with over 6 years of tuition experience with > 100 students. I am an ex Nonsuch High (grammar) school student and have achieved 11 A* grades (straight- all subjects) in my GCSEs as well as 5 A grade A levels in the Sciences, Maths, Persian and Critical Thinking as well as an additional AS in German. Please note in 2007 the A grade was the top A level grade (no A*s then for A levels). I specialise in teaching the Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Mathematics from primary level through to 11+, KS3, GCSE and A level. I also offer undergraduate tuition to Biology and Medical Sciences students. I have a 100% success rate and dozens of references that can be provided upon request. I am DBS checked with a full UK driving license and able to travel up to 20 mins each way for tuition as required. To date I have a 100% success rate with all my students achieving their target grades and have over 3500 hrs of teaching experience since 2015. I am currently in the fourth year of my PhD in pure mathematics at the London School of Geometry and Number Theory (Imperial, UCL, and King's). Before that, I was an undergraduate at the University of Queensland, Australia, where I earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours Class I with an extended major in Mathematics. I also have a Diploma of Languages majoring in German, and spent a year of my undergraduate degree studying in Munich. As an undergraduate, I gained a variety of experience from both private tutoring and teaching in university environments for students ranging from high school to undergraduate level. Before I began university I did a gap year working for a prep school in Surrey, where I primarily helped students between the ages of 8 and 13 who were struggling in class and/ or being disruptive. I also helped prepare students for the 11 and 13+ exams. I believe that mathematics is an under-appreciated discipline, and I have a passion for teaching maths in an intuitive and relatable way that applies real-world examples. I have ample experience in communicating complicated ideas to students of all abilities and in guiding students to their own understanding.

I'm an experienced science and language tutor with more than 10 years of teaching. SCIENCES I'm doing a PhD in Biology at the University of Oxford and have taught both within the university and in private summer schools in Oxford on the topic. I teach both high school students who need help preparing for exams, as well as university students who want to go in-depth within a certain subject or understand course material. My methods focus on applied learning, which means I'll help you understand why it is important to learn something and what you can do with that knowledge, not just how to learn. My teaching method for A-level students focuses on problem-based learning similar to university admissions interviews. I am comfortable teaching younger students in a variety of science subjects, including students with learning difficulties. You can expect a very fun, hands-on approach to learning. LANGUAGES I have extensive experience in teaching IELTS and other language exams (CPE, TOEFL). I have taught students successfully at the last minute. My approach is very tailored to the individual, so we would focus on the most effective techniques for the student. I have studied Spanish for over 10 years and obtained the highest certificate in Spanish as Foreign Language (DELE) with distinction. I was awarded first prize in many Spanish international competitions. For four years, I did courses in Spanish geography, history and culture, and I normally use what I learned to make my classes interactive and more than a way of teaching a language. I like immersing people in the Spanish culture, with its food, dances, famous painters and explorers. Have taught Spanish as foreign language for more than ten years, in one-to-one and one-to-few sessions. I adapt my style to the students I work with - for one, it can be all about having fun while translating lyrics of famous songs and watching Spanish short films (audio, experiential learners); for another it can be about rigorously tackling grammar and crafting complex stories. Regardless of the approach, you should expect that after a year of weekly/fortnightly classes you would advance by two levels (e.g. A2 to B2). I wholeheartedly recommend trying learning a language from a non-native speaker, as the way a foreign language is learned is very different from a native tongue. If you speak foreign languages, you know what I mean. If not, just give it a go!

After graduating with a chemistry degree from Royal Holloway College, University of London, I spent over a decade working in chemical industries. These included pharmaceutical, environmental and chemical process sectors. I completed a PGCE in 2003. I am a qualified professional teacher, with over 14 years spent specialising in chemistry and physics. I have taught in a successful Independent school for the last 13 years specialising in chemistry up to A level. I am currently a chemistry Examiner for UK and international exam boards. I also lecture first year undergraduates in basic chemistry skills at my local University centre. My experience enables me to quickly develop strategies to help students of all abilities to make rapid progress. I can add value to the learning experience of all students, over the entire ability range.

Hello! I am in my third year teaching Science at a Secondary School school in London and I am loving every second! I have learnt a lot about how to teach online more recently and it has also given me up-to-date knowledge and experience of the GCSE and Key Stage 3 Science curriculums. Maths makes up a large proportion of these subjects so I am up-to-date with this too. I have been able to develop key teaching strategies which will aid me well in tutoring. I hold A*s at A level in maths, biology and chemistry. I had a part-time tutoring job for 2 years while at university, teaching biology, maths and chemistry to A Level and GCSE students. Several of my students went on to gain places on medical degree programmes, so I hope this means I was a good tutor! I also enrolled onto a scheme in my second year, where I was able to meet up with first year biology students to help them with their studies. Before university I also tutored GCSE maths to family friends, helping them achieve their target grades. Prior to my current job I worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital in the Genetics laboratory. This was a fascinating place to work and gave me the opportunity to learn and study cutting-edge techniques at the forefront of Genetics and Medicine. I used my degree in biology everyday working in this field, making me a knowledgeable tutor in this subject.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Synthetic Biochemistry at UCL. I have been a tutor for over a year now back in Canada and thouroughly enjoyed the experience! I am fluent in both English and French, and can give Math, Science and French tutoring from Year 1 to Year 13. I can also teach undergrad chemistry classes. I've worked with children, teenagers and adults since I was 16 in many different contexts. First as a tutor, then as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. I have had clients of all ages, and managed to help them develop methods that helped them out all throughout their learning process . Seeing that light of comprehension in people's eyes when they finally understand that one thing that was giving them trouble is honestly my favorite thing to witness! I'm always glad to help people understand new concepts!

Currently working as an hourly paid lecturer of Access to Biomedical Science and Access to Health Science, as well as previous experience as a private tutor, I have the credentials to become a successful private tutor. Additionally, my academic qualifications including my degree in Biomedical Sciences, my A Levels, and GCSEs have given me intimate subject knowledge and first hand insight into the different methods of preparation for various types of tests that students come across at the different stages of the education ladder. My research project pushed me right to the edge of the biomedical field. During my time at university, I have served as a mentor to first year university students. I have also helped my peers by helping them to write and then proofreading their personal statements, as well as helping them to practice and develop their interview technique. My job as a lecturer involves preparing and delivering lessons, as well as writing and marking exams. Teaching students of various ages and levels has enabled me to adapt my teaching style to tailor it to each and every student. This is how adapt my approach to every student I teach. My other previous work experience such as working as a teaching assistant, in retail, in a care home, and as a receptionist at a GP surgery has endowed me with the necessary transferrable skills such as communication and customer service that have also served to enhance my teaching style.

Hey, I'm Luke! I'm a tutor, and a freelance editor for international scientific journals. During my biology PhD and post-doc at Cambridge the most rewarding experience I had was mentoring undergraduates, so I left academia to focus on teaching. Helping students achieve their potential in science and maths is a real pleasure. I achieved the highest grade in all A-levels, and a 1st in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford My experience is as a private tutor (one year), and as an undergraduate tutor and mentor at the University of Cambridge (four years). I was trained for the world-famous small group supervision system at Cambridge, and gained experience in discussing complex underlying concepts with students and ensuring complete understanding. Additionally, I was selected for a mentoring scheme, training struggling undergraduates one-to-one throughout the academic year, creating tailored programmes together with the students to address their weaknesses and enable them to achieve their goals. I'm applying to Oxbridge, can you help me? Yes! As a successful state school applicant to Oxford who had very little support I would be glad to help anyone prepare and demystify the process in any way I can. I know that it can be stressful and believe the key is practice and strategy - both of which I can provide. My teaching philosophy is that every student is different, and by finding how they learn most effectively, they can progress efficiently. Active learning and engagement are key, and I'm willing to do the extra preparation to ensure this. I can also train studying and revision methods, and coach exam technique.

I am currently a 4th year medical student in London , keen to help other students interested in medicine and science as well as any students interested in in learning beginner Korean. I have taught english as a foreign language to non-english speaking students for a year. This was a wonderful and satisfying experience as I loved to see them learn and expand their vocabulary. I have also tutored GCSE students during sixth form. I would love to tutor at A Level as well, to help students achieve their academic goals. My teaching style allows students to feel comfortable with me, encouraging them to think for themselves. My goal is to instil effective ways to learn into my students, therefore after their journey with me comes to an end they will be able to be confident enough to study in their own time. I have self studied Korean to an intermediate level as well as Japanese and Mandarin to a beginner level. I am enthusiastic about language learning and teaching, therefore if you are interested in learning beginner Korean I would be happy to teach! I am a keen runner and love to read in my spare time. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to achieve your goals!

I am currently a Biochemistry Master's student studying at University College London (UCL). I previously graduated from Queen Mary, University of London with a BSc in Biochemistry. I gained my initial experience in tutoring by taking part in a tutoring programme which aimed to integrate students of the upper and lower sixth form years to provide personalized tutoring. Through this experience, I have helped a diverse group of students to achieve their full potential and be accepted into their top university choices. As a current graduate student myself, I am familiar with the stress and anxiety that A levels and GCSEs bring. I believe that the best way to alleviate this stress and anxiety is by tailoring and controlling your learning outside of the classroom. I take pride in providing personally tailored goals to enhance my students' learning, so that they can achieve their academic goals, in a pace and depth of understanding that fits their academic needs. My teaching approach is initially based upon identifying gaps and weaknesses of my students' knowledge, which may be hindering their progress in a specified subject. I then design my lessons around these sets of gaps and weaknesses, with accompanying lessons that reinforce the other course material that the student is currently covering. I believe that as a tutor, one of the major responsibilities is to promote the confidence of your students. I aim to achieve this by maintaining an encouraging atmosphere, where the students can feel relaxed and comfortable in, to ultimately nurture their learning in the years to come.
