I am a highly experienced tutor of A level (and GCSE) Physics and Chemistry with an additional specialism in GAMSAT, where I have many successful students. I provide support for students preparing for their entrance exams, and for their GCSE and A level exams. I also assist students with their UCAS applications and university interviews. I have much recent experience of teaching GAMSAT students, a specialism of mine. Recently I won a prize as the best new tutor at a tutorial agency, and last academic year my six A level Physics students achieved A*, A*, A*, A*, A* and A respectively. I am a top-rated GAMSAT tutor. My aim is to help my students to reach their full academic potential and get the grades they deserve. I believe in making sure that the underlying fundamental concepts are fully understood as this provides a solid foundation. There is nothing more rewarding than a student saying, "oh yes, now I get it". My tutoring style is to seek to identify the key areas where support is required and then patiently and sympathetically to help and encourage my tutees to master these areas. I have a post-graduate teaching degree and have taught in a number of Schools, Colleges and Universities. I am also a governor at two schools and chair of Council at one. I tutor individuals and also groups in schools, sixth form Colleges and Russell group universities. I was a lecturer at Imperial College for 26 years where I was an admissions tutor, senior tutor and postgraduate tutor and became deputy director of the Graduate school. I won the Rectors award for excellence in teaching at Imperial College twice. I have recent experience of tutoring and one to one teaching and also of tutoring in four central London schools, namely the City and Islington college, the Harris academy St Johns Wood, St Saviour's and St Olave' school and the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson school, Islington. I have also taught African student classes online. In my spare time I like to swim, exercise in the gym and kayak. I also love to travel and have lived and worked in Singapore, Sydney, Dallas and on a short placement in the Punjab. I support QPR more in hope than in expectation!

Hello! I am a current University of Oxford Material Sciences PhD student and have recently graduated from the University of Warwick with First Class Honours in Chemistry. I have helped numerous students go from E to A* at both IGCSE and A Level as a result of one-to-one tutoring. I specialise in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, having over 500 hours of teaching experience in these areas. I am also currently a teaching assistant for the Materials Department at the University of Oxford and aid current professors with tutorials and practicals, teaching Oxford undergraduates. On top of this I also have a large bank of notes from GCSE to degree level with plenty of learning resources, questions, model answers, and mark schemes. When tutoring my students, I first try to prioritise their understanding of concepts from scratch, asking them probing questions to ensure their understanding is water-tight. Next, we go through examples and questions together to build confidence. Then I ask students to do questions under exam-conditions without my help, whilst stating their own thinking process aloud, so I can later help refine the way they approach problems and spot common mistakes in their understanding/method. Lastly, I encourage my students to practice further exam questions independently, in order to ensure their exam technique is consistent with mark schemes and model answers. I also am always happy for students to send me any questions they may have between lessons. DPhil in Material Sciences at the University of Oxford: Current student BSc (Hons) in Chemistry at the University of Warwick: First Class Honours A levels: Mathematics (A*), Chemistry (A), Physics (A) & Further Mathematics (B). IGCSEs: (10A*).

I have tutored more than 30 GCSE, A level and 11+ students all over London, in home and online. This has accumulated to successive years of tuition, with students proudly obtaining fantastic grades. My tutelage has spanned to students from London, Private schools (e.g. Eton), Grammar schools (applicants particularly) and even international students (IGCSE). I study Masters of Pharmaceutics at UCL and have achieved 7 A* GCSE grades. This, complementary to my tutoring experience, means I confidently, and enthusiastically, teach English, Maths and [Triple]Sciences in core exams such as the 11+, SATs, GCSE and A levels. I am exuberant when endeavoring a student to accelerate academically, beyond their "target grades" and I know that parents hold the same view. In conjunction with academic learning, I understand the importance of targeted examination-style practice which really boosts confidence. I will: -Teach the full content required in preparation for the exams or of relevance to the academic year -Ensure examination questions are practiced (normally after each topic) whilst manipulating mark scheme specifications. -Provide learning content+ relevant homework per session. -Provide free after session consultations to discuss the progress of learning. -Undergo regular assessments-for evidence-based grade progression. During lessons, I often ask plenty of open-answer questions, which allows for students to find links between two topics. This prevents tutors from compromising the self-learning of students, which is very important for parents. Timing wise, I am extremely flexible and, indeed, punctual. I have an innate feature of make learning energetic and bringing about enthusiasm in students so that they continue to harness their learning naturally, without my presence. One main aim of my tutoring position is to employ students with key skills needed to efficiently learn, especially independently. Thus, during crucial tuition periods, more time is spent approaching exam content, such as examination questions and reports and picking upon more complex revision content. However, all content is still taught from basic to the highest of levels, to ensure full understanding of all topics. I understand that examinations such as 11+ and GCSE’s are becoming harder, more extensive, year by year. My strong understanding of examination boards such as EDEXCEL, AQA, OCR;WJEC and updated grading systems such as the new 9-1 grades, means that my students have a tutor who holds recent, strong, academic knowledge of the curriculum, extensive experience, convenience and an aptitude to significantly improve your child’s confidence and grades! Just so you know: -I live close to central London: Hence I have great access to all regions of London. -I drive a car to students thus commuting is not an issue -You can ask to contact a parent of a previous student of mine, to get an in-person review. -I have a recent DBS check- so you can be sure of your child’s safety around me. -I also offer careers advice, coursework exemplars, scholarship prep sessions -An initial assessment is undertaken within the first lesson

Hi there! I have a MSc in theoretical physics at Imperial College. I graduated from the University of Bath in 2015 with a first class degree in Physics, and spent a year on placement working at a Laser facility in Oxford as part of my degree. Whilst undertaking my postgraduate studies I'm residing at my family home in St Johns Wood and am willing to travel far and wide to reach a wide range of tutees. I grew up in London and attended Highgate School and UCS where I achieved 9 A/A* grades at GCSE and A-levels in Physics (A), Maths (A), and Economics (B). Whilst attending school I received some personal tuition, which was a great help and took vast amounts of pressure from my shoulders; allowing me to pursue extra-curricular activities. This was extraordinarily beneficial when it came to applying to University, and provided a solid base for me to chase my academic dream. In my leisure time I like to spend time broadening my knowledge outside of physics, taking a keen interest in philosophy and literature; utilising the Imperial’s substantial offline and online resources to accommodate my interest. In my year off between secondary education and University, I traveled to China for two months to study Kung-Fu. Before heading out to the far east, I took a beginners course in mandarin so I could communicate with the locals, to make the experience more fulfilling and enjoyable. Although Physics is one of my main interests and the topic of discussion in most scenarios of my day-to-day life, I feel it is important to find some separation and pursue other areas of interest. Before damaging both my knees, a few years ago I formed a Sunday league football team with a few old friends that I help run. I am a keen film fan, an avid follower of the comedy circuit, and somewhat of a home chef. Whilst studying in Bath I volunteered for a programme called 'Lab in a Lorry', an organisation I found through the university. They tour the country in a large mobile unit kitted-out with several experiments and interactive demonstrations to bring science and mathematics to pre-GCSE children with the aim of peaking their interest. It is a joint venture of the Institute of Physics and the Schlumberger Foundation. I was able to volunteer several times and was privileged to be able to teach a wide range of age groups, which was vital experience for me as a soft introduction to teaching. During my time teaching I ran several practical demonstrations for the kids ranging from an introduction to fibre optics and their use in modern medicine and surgery, to an insight into polarisation of electromagnetic radiation and how it alters how we see our Sun. These experiences were extremely fulfilling, and encouraged me to become a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) ambassador whilst on placement in Oxford. This involved running several outreach programmes at local (and not so local) schools, with the intention of making science fun and more relevant to young children. Myself, accompanied by several other placement students, exposed scientific thinking and novel ideas to children of ages 6 to 12. Some of these activities included: telescopic observation of the moon, an insight into the specific electromagnetic dependent appearance of galaxies, the formation of stars and other stellar activities, as well as several other aeronautic and space based demos. I began giving private tuition in 2015 and have expanded my client base tenfold since starting out. My students have seen vast improvement under my supervision, with an average grade jump of over two grade boundaries. I have taught students from GCSE level all the way up to final year university students. The structure of my lessons is as follows: I will dedicate a third to one half of the allotted time to an overview of the method or theory that is to be covered in the session. The time dependence directly related to the difficulty and complexity of the subject at hand. This subset of time will be filled by an interactive slideshow covering the topic and basic examples of applications to everyday life. After this, I will introduce a few simpler example questions, that I will run through with my student in detail before handing the reigns over to them to answer multiple exam-style questions; for which I will give hints and review the necessary material before going through the method of the marker. This is a tried and tested successful technique. Upon approach of the examination period, the tutoring sessions will change to entirely question and answer based conditioning exercises. These will be example questions taken from previous papers and my personal stash of textbooks and notes. This method of teaching has worked extremely well with me over the last 10 years, and also with my previous tutees; and I have full faith that it will do wonders for future students too.

My students have successfully passed the examinations for QE Boys, Watford Boys and Girls, Wallington Boys, Radley College, Merchant Taylors, Habadashers Boys, Habadashers Girls, St Helen’s, St Albans, John Lyons and more. My tailored and established tutoring method best identifies children`s strengths and tackle areas of development. I encourage and motivate students to reach their true potential and cater the lesson to suit the students’ learning style. Through effective questioning, I challenge misconceptions that they may have, therefore are able to gain a better grasp of the subject matter. I use my subject knowledge from degree in Mathematics and Physics and research to make the subject matter more interesting and relatable. My teaching experience has covered a broad range of children from ages 5-19 and from both state and private schools such as Notting Hill, John Lyons and many others. In the initial session, I will gauge an understanding of the child`s strengths and weaker areas through tailored tests and conversations with student. This enables me to develop a personalised and structured plan for the student that will strengthen their weaker areas and push them further in stronger areas, which I will deliver over the course of the tutoring period. I offer tuition on a one-to-one basis, covering the KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE, 11+and 13+ curricula. I offer tuition on a 1-to-1 basis, and in focused group sessions, covering the KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE, A Level 11+, and 13+ curricula.

I have an impressive and proven track record in helping students, of all abilities, succeed in A-level physics. Having graduated in physics from Imperial College of Science and Tecnology in London, I have spent many years both as a teacher and as a tutor of physics, specialising in A-level physics for year 12 and year 13 students. I have taught the AQA, OCR and Edexcel syllabuses. My experience tells me that anyone can be successful in studying physics at A-level when the subject is taught clearly, with passion and with depth by the tutor and that the student is prepared to work hard. My tutoring techniques involve the breaking down of difficult topics into clear and concise sub topics. The student’s understanding of these sub topics is then reinforced by the student applying themselves to both short and long questions until they have the confidence to then move onto the next sub topic. We build up the confidence of the student gradually until they are ready to tackle hard exam level questions. This progression takes place at the speed that the student is comfortable at.
