I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and sympathetic tutor who works hard to get the most out his pupils. I have a strong academic record having graduated with a First Class degree from Durham University, and gained A*’s in A-Level Math and Further Maths, and A in A-Level Physics whilst at Elizabeth College In Guernsey. I also worked hard leading critical thinking group The Saravia Society, and leading charity outreach as second senior prefect at secondary school, and led one of the largest student theatre societies in the UK, Durham Student Theatre. I now works as freelance production manager in events and theatre. I spent three years at Transport for London as an engineer and advisor Whilst I was there, I delivered STEM workshops in schools across London, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, and for the Transport Museum. Whilst at university, I worked to deliver engagement and learning events with local schools, and also tutored numerous GCSE students in Maths and Physics, helping them achieve A and A* grades. I work hard to tailor my lessons to the students and their abilities; helping them to maximise these through encouragement and support. I am a medical student who has had a lot of experience teaching GCSE and A level students. I have volunteered in helping GCSE students in French and Maths when I was doing my A-levels. I have also helped A-level students in chemistry, biology, and maths whilst I was doing my medical foundation year. Throughout my experience, I learned that each student has their own style of learning. I base my teaching on finding the best way a student could learn and deliver the information to them. I never give up on delivering information to others, I use a lot of methods until the student understands the topic completely. During my GCSE, I was very good at science, maths and French and I carried these subjects to A-levels along with EPQ. I have also studied Maths, Chemistry, and Biology during my medical foundation year and I have achieved a decent set of grades.

However, if you cancel your lesson within 48 hours you will be charged the full amount. If there is an unforeseen circumstance, then both the tutor and Tutor House will discuss this with you. Tutors will usually wait for 30 minutes, but again this is at the tutor’s discretion – tutors may well have to leave at the original time for another lesson. We operate a 48 hour cancellation policy, which means that if you cancel the lesson with 48 hours you will be charged the full amount.

Yes. All tutors must have a valid DBS certificate before their profile goes live on the Tutor House site. We do in-house DBS checks, which means we get DBS done very quickly. If a tutor’s DBS certificate is not validated or has expired then their profile will taken down until a new DBS certificate is issued. Although this is completely over to the tutor to notify us when it has expired. Once we’ve checked the tutors DBS, we are not responsible for keeping it up to date. A DBS (Disclosed Baring Service) is a way of checking tutors. Tutor House performs a background check, and a police checks. We make sure that all tutors are suitable to work with children and adults, before their profiles go live. The DBS replaced the CRB.

    A-Level Business Studies Course Breakdown

A-Level Business Studies is an interdisciplinary course, with the syllabus covering a range of complex and relevant issues concerning business, such as accountancy, economics, management science and social psychology. A-Level Business Studies deals with a wealth of content, and tests students on a wide range of skills, from their analytical abilities to their problem-solving capabilities. Whilst the specifications are slightly different across the various examining boards, they largely focus around the same key elements.

Students will study business in a variety of contexts, including local/global business and large/small business. They will be asked to demonstrate specialised knowledge about the intricate infrastructures upon which business models function, whilst also taking into consideration any external factors, such as technology or media, that may be implicating the business model. Over the course, students will develop an appreciation of the range of activities that businesses must carry out in order to succeed and stay relevant in the national, local and global economy. They will also be expected to analyse various case-studies pertaining to a range of business scenarios, whilst identifying key issues that businesses may face and give possible remedies to combat these problems.

Generally, the course consists of six modules spread over the two year period. Modules tend to focus around topics including, but not limited to, business ownership, planning and financing a business, investment, international trade, external influences and business strategy and objectives. Assessment methods are consistent throughout the two year period, and interchange between multiple choice and long form and short form essay questions.

Business Studies A-Level is undoubtedly rewarding, but its content is complex and can present students with a number of challenges. Working alongside a private A-Level Business Studies tutor is the best way to make sure that students are developing the right skills and knowledge in order to really prosper going forward in their academic career and beyond.

By default, when searching for a tutor you will be shown the nearest tutors to your location. Travelling longer distances may incur additional travel costs; however the tutor will inform you if this is the case, and any travel costs can be mutually agreed before the lesson is booked. Most tutors would expect to travel up to 45 minutes to get you, at no extra cost. If there are additional charges the tutor will make you aware of that. You can always ask the tutor for online lessons if there is the possibility of travel costs being added to the costs of your lessons. Most of our Tutors infact use Skype and can carry out lessons online with no additional cost. Sometimes online courses is the perfect answer.

Yes, we do take a fee, but at a fraction of the rate which other companies charge. We don’t have a sign up fee for new customers, we don’t charge an introduction fee, and we don’t charge administration fees. However, we do charge a small commission which pays for the security of tutors (we meet all tutors, check their DBS certificates and ensure they are who they say there are), and the maintenance of the site. If you have any problems using the site, you can always email or call us.

After selecting your tutor for your desired material, you can book a lesson right away! Send an inquiry to your selected Tutor and once a tutor accepts your inquiry, it will be registered as an ‘open enquiry’ within your messages tab. This is where you will be able to communicate with our tutors, discuss your requirements, arrange lesson times, and book and pay for lessons. When you submit your booking request, the credit card details provided will be subject to an authorisation hold (to the total amount agreed with the tutor for the cost of the initial session and for any other lessons which will take place thereafter). Not only that, but you can also rate and review your tutor once you’ve had your lesson! Tutor House values your feedback.

Yes, we operate a 48 hour cancellation policy. Our policy protects both tutor and customer. You can cancel your booking without incurring any charges as long as it’s cancelled at least 48 hours before the lesson is due to take place. However, if you cancel your lesson within 48 hours you will be charged the full amount. If there is an unforeseen circumstance, then both the tutor and Tutor House will discuss this with you. In some situations lessons can be rescheduled (free of charge), but this is at the tutor’s discretion.

    A

If you are running late for a booking then please do let the tutor know via the in-app messenger as soon as possible because the tutor may still have to finish the lesson at the scheduled time, depending on his/her availability. However, tutors will usually try to make up time lost at the end of the session for the intended duration, although it’s important to note that this is at the tutor’s discretion. Tutors will usually wait for 30 minutes, but again this is at the tutor’s discretion – tutors may well have to leave at the original time for another lesson. If you are late for the lesson, tutors will charge for the full amount that has been agreed and confirmed.
