Family Desperate for Nanny McPhee Tutor

Tutors

This tutoring position has now been filled

"Hello, I’m getting in touch as my wife and I are searching for a numeracy and literacy tutor for our four children, however, we’re looking for someone with experience in troublesome kids. I’m going to be honest, our kids can be a nightmare. We’ve had seven tutors quit since 2016 due to altercations with them, but we want what’s best for our children and education means a lot to us, they don’t excel in school currently and need the extra help, so we need someone new soon! Despite the above, they aren’t bad kids they just need someone to put them in their place now and again. We are fed up of hiring and want someone who will be able to discipline them and keep their attention whilst teaching.

Our daughters are five and eleven and we have twin sons that are seven, so they can be a handful especially when they’re together. Each child will require three hours of one-to-one tuition a week, therefore the tutor must have the capacity to work 12 hours a week around our children’s school times. I feel it’s my duty to say that previously tutors have been subjected to physical fighting, swearing and shouting, and they have been known to play pranks, like throwing flour and eggs.

To put it into perspective we’ve had one tutor last only two weeks before because he was locked in the garage for 2 hours, and had another call our children ‘the devil reincarnated’. We believe our children aren’t ‘devils’, just haven’t been educationally stimulated by the right people. I believe previous tutors have failed because they haven’t taken charge of the situation. They’re pretty well behaved with us! Candidates must have a minimum of five years’ experience in tutoring or teaching.

We’d also love to get potential tutors along for a trial shift so we can see how they interact with the children and see if they are the best fit for our family’s needs. We realise this is going to be a challenging role, so we’re able to offer around £100 an hour for the right candidate. Our children can be lovely they just need a strong disciplinarian, who can still make learning fun. Please no time wasters!"

Alex Dyer, co-founder of Tutor House said, “When we saw the advert we were stunned, it sounded like something out of Nanny McPhee, but this is always the case with twins - they are hard work! We have hundreds of professionals onsite who specialise in numeracy and literacy subjects, so one of them will be able to help this family out. Alternatively, if a straight-talking, stern tutor is out there and thinks they can take these children on and deliver a good level of service, please sign up and get in touch!“ The family has assured us that no tutors have been hurt in the past, however, the new candidate must be a strong disciplinarian that demands respect, to put the kids back in their place when they act up.”
