I have a patient and calm tutoring style and love working with students of all ages. I've tutored A level history students in the past and 3/4 of my students got A grades. I also tutored young children in an after-school homework club at Oxford. I know how to engage students with the curriculum and make them see the fun side of studying. I think the best way to get top grades is by understanding the material, so my methods involve telling stories, QandAs, and making mind maps and colourful notes to make the important stuff stick. I also want my students to take a genuine interest in the subject and be curious about the world and find the experience of learning as enjoyable as I do. A bit about me -- I studied History at Oxford University and graduated in 2012. I've worked as a journalist for the Guardian and the Washington Post and now I work in finance in central London.

I am a second year PhD student in the Control System group at the University Of Manchester. I graduated with a first class in Computer Engineering (undergraduate degree) and a distinction in Advanced Control and System Engineering (MSc). I currently work as a graduate teaching assistant (GTA) in addition to my research work at the University of Manchester. I have been a GTA for two years now. I have worked as a lab assistant after my undergraduate studies where I help students with problems they may encounter during the lab sessions. I also worked as a volunteer for a charity to teach less privileged children mathematics and to enthuse them to take up STEM subjects. I am a person that is very patient with people and as such, I take my time to make sure students understand what I teach. I try to understand the strength and weakness of my students and help them to improve on both.

I am a qualified medical student from King's College London. I have completed my medical degree and in addition successfully completed a Medical Humanities degree within a year at the University of Bristol. As a highly motivated medical student I enjoy a very successful academic career resulting from my use of well honed study skills. Medicine requires me to demonstrate particular strengths in maths and the sciences, however I have also used my excellent communication skills to present new medical concepts to my colleagues. I have regularly led, set up and organised practical study groups to improve peer skills in objective clinical examinations. I have also taught across a broad range of ability levels: spending two years as an instructor at a swimming club for people with disabilities meant I needed to be positive and encouraging, using my initiative to create fun games and exercises, as well as sympathetic in acknowledging their limitations. As a tutor I am able to share my pragmatic approach to successful study. This includes: the importance of my commitment to a structured learning framework, ensuring study time is a prioritised but integrated part of life, also allowing for the pursuit of other valuable interests; access to relevant learning material targeted to personal requirements. My strong people skills, combined with a passion for learning and motivational, sympathetic approach mean I am to help tutor others to engage more successfully with their studies. For those interested in pursuing medicine as a career, I can also offer coaching in attaining acceptance into University to study it as a degree. This includes (but is not limited to) advice on relevant work experience and personal statements, to applications and interview technique. From my experience, I can also offer insight into what it is like to study medicine, and can answer any questions one may have on the course and potential career options.

You can cancel your booking without incurring any charges as long as it’s cancelled at least 48 hours before the lesson is due to take place. However, if you cancel your lesson within 48 hours you will be charged the full amount. If there is an unforeseen circumstance, then both the tutor and Tutor House will discuss this with you. In some situations lessons can be rescheduled (free of charge), but this is at the tutor’s discretion.

We don’t have a sign up fee for new customers, we don’t charge an introduction fee, and we don’t charge administration fees. However, we do charge a small commission which pays for the security of tutors (we meet all tutors, check their DBS certificates and ensure they are who they say there are), and the maintenance of the site. The messaging is instant, so your tutor will receive the notification via both; the website and email. Hence he or she can respond to immediately. Send an inquiry to your selected Tutor and once a tutor accepts your inquiry, it will be registered as an ‘open enquiry’ within your messages tab. This is where you will be able to communicate with our tutors, discuss your requirements, arrange lesson times, and book and pay for lessons. When you submit your booking request, the credit card details provided will be subject to an authorisation hold (to the total amount agreed with the tutor for the cost of the initial session and for any other lessons which will take place thereafter). Not only that, but you can also rate and review your tutor once you’ve had your lesson! Tutor House values your feedback.

A

By default, when searching for a tutor you will be shown the nearest tutors to your location. Travelling longer distances may incur additional travel costs; however the tutor will inform you if this is the case, and any travel costs can be mutually agreed before the lesson is booked. Most tutors would expect to travel up to 45 minutes to get you, at no extra cost. If there are additional charges the tutor will make you aware of that. You can always ask the tutor for online lessons if there is the possibility of travel costs being added to the costs of your lessons. Most of our Tutors infact use Skype and can carry out lessons online with no additional cost. Sometimes online courses is the perfect answer.

private maths tutor 2

Select Your Subject - Tutor House makes searching for the best private Maths tutor as stress-free as possible. The first step is to select which level of Maths you’re studying from the drop-down menu above. Tutor House has private Maths tutors for all levels from Primary right through to University and Adult Learning.

Location - Pop your postcode into the search bar and our platform will show you the private Maths tutors which are local to you. One of the best things about our private Maths tuition is that it can be flexible to suit your schedule. You can organise your Maths tuition to be face-to-face in your own home or online.

Browse Tutors - You will be presented with the profiles of all private Maths tutors in your area. As you can see from the examples above, each profile has a great deal of information about each of our private tutors including their average response time, reviews from other users, subject speciality, the distance they travel for face-to-face tuition and crucially what they charge per hour.

Select and Book your Tutor - The Tutor House platform allows you to message potential tutors before committing to a session. This allows you to confirm they are a good fit for you or your child but also that their availability suits your schedule. Once time and place have been agreed the Tutor will send you a lesson request for you to confirm.

Secure and Automatic Payment - Payment is set up before you make your booking. Once you've completed your session with your private Maths tutor the payment is taken automatically and securely to ensure you have one less thing to worry about while learning.

Yes, we operate a 48 hour cancellation policy. Our policy protects both tutor and customer.

Yes, we do take a fee, but at a fraction of the rate which other companies charge. If you have any problems using the site, you can always email or call us.
