I am a hardworking 3rd year medical student at UCL with previous tutoring experience in Maths and science. I am available to tutor immediately and happy to teach on weekday evenings and weekends. I will adapt my style of teaching based on the student, giving tutees an individual approach to learning based on what works best for them. I have used this approach previously and have found it to be very effective. I aim to focus on developing good exam technique as this can often drastically improve grades. From the first lesson I will try and work out what areas need to be focused on and will integrate learning exam technique into the lessons. I believe that focusing on approaching questions that are not too straightforward is also a great way of getting higher marks. I have found that this can be a struggle for many students that are not quite reaching top grades. I am also able to help with university application, especially to Medicine. The application process can be stressful however my personal experience on applying to Medicine may be very helpful. I have helped many of my peers with their applications by perfecting their personal statements, building their experience, assisting with the UKCAT/BMAT and helping them with interview skills.

I am an approachable and diligent graduate from Cambridge University, where I studied my undergraduate in Philosophy and Psychology and my Masters in Psychology. I now work as a Research Psychologist at Cambridge University and University College London. I love teaching, and have experience working with students aged between 8 and 21. I first discovered my teaching talent assisting a close school friend through his A levels. With my help he moved from achieving A B C E in his AS levels to 2A*s and an A at A Level, going on to study with me at Cambridge University. Most recently, I have supervised university students studying my specialist areas within mental health, given lectures and one-to-one lessons on Cambridge summer schools, and provided classroom support to teenage children with special educational needs. I believe teaching is at its best when it is a discussion. I make a real effort to ensure students feel able to ask even the most basic questions so we can quickly identify areas of weakness and address them. By working together to expand the student's knowledge and explore their areas of particular interest, I am able to foster genuine interest in students, and provide them with a strong basis of knowledge from which to excel. I feel confident in my ability to build an excellent relationship with my students, and I can't wait to work with you and your children in the future!

Who can benefit from a private Spanish tutor?

Students from primary level through to degree level and beyond can reap the benefits of enlisting the help of a private Spanish tutor. As qualifications progress, the complexity of the courses and the amount of knowledge required to excel increases significantly. Spanish tuition is invaluable when it comes to ensuring that you are getting the most out of your studying, no matter what level you are at. With the help of a Spanish tutor, students can make sure they succeed and achieve all their goals.

Primary Spanish Tutors - Learning a language is easiest at a young age, so enlisting the help of a private Spanish tutor at this formative stage in education is a great investment. Your Spanish tutor will be able to ensure that you are one step ahead, and will provide children with the learning support that they need, whilst teaching them study skills and helping them to build their confidence. A friendly and enthusiastic primary Spanish tutor will ensure that your child is excited by the subject, so that they’re fully prepared to embark upon the rest of their Spanish education.
GCSE & IGCSE Spanish Tutors - GCSEs and IGCSEs are a stressful time in any student’s academic career, with both the considerable step up from primary level and the high stakes of GCSE results making for a particularly challenging period in education. Languages are especially demanding in terms of how they test students. Unlike in other subjects, students will be required to demonstrate their knowledge and skills through a range of methods, including listening, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish. At this level, students will also be required to discuss and write about various societal issues, such as identity and culture.

Your private Spanish tutor will ensure that you are fully equipped to tackle each individual element of the syllabus, working tirelessly alongside you to make sure that, by exam time, you are feeling confident in your abilities and you achieve the results that you deserve.
A-Level Spanish Tutors - For many students, A-Levels can be extremely stressful and they are a huge step up from GCSE. At this level, students are expected to use the skills developed previously to discuss more complex and intricate social and political issues, whilst also maintaining a high standard of grammar. They will also be required to engage with Spanish cultural artefacts such as films and texts, and be able to discuss and write about them at length.

With places at university becoming increasingly competitive, it is paramount that students are successful at this level of study to ensure that they don’t miss out on any opportunities. Enlisting the help of an A-Level Spanish tutor will provide students with the support that they need to understand and effectively apply what they have learnt in order to ensure that they get the best grades possible.
Degree Level Spanish Tutors - A degree in Spanish will not only equip students with all the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue a successful career within the field, it will also teach students how to discuss social, political and economic issues in the language. Many Spanish degree courses will also require that students spend a year in Spain so that they spend time immersed within Spanish culture, whilst also vastly improving their language skills by spending extensive time with people who speak Spanish natively.

Degrees are a huge step up from A-Level, and for many students, the upheaval that comes with going to university can be overwhelming. This transition can distract students from their academic goals, resulting in poor grades that don’t reflect their true abilities. A Spanish tutor will not only help you excel in your studies, but they will also provide you with important advice that will help you to stay motivated during this potentially taxing, but hugely important, stage of your education.
Spanish Tutors for Adult Learners - Whether you’re completely new to Spanish, you’re looking to improve on your existing skill set or you need to learn Spanish to get that job you’ve always wanted, Tutor House have a whole range of tutors qualified who will be able to offer adult learners life-changing Spanish tuition.

You can pay the tutor directly and securely through the Tutor House website. However, if you do pay outside of the Tutor House site, you will not be protected by our 48 hour Cancelation Policy, nor our Disputes or Refunds Policy, we also do not guarantee that you’ll be protected from fraud. You will then receive a confirmation email notifying you of the hours completed with the tutor. The email will also confirm the date and time that the lesson(s) took place. Payment will be automatically processed by Tutor House’s Payment Service Provider (PSP). We do not charge you a joining fee or an administration fee, instead we allow you to interact with your chosen tutor directly. You pay the tutor online using a debit or credit card, with your booking being secure and private. Our tutors get paid on the same day of the lesson, so please make sure that you’ve confirmed the lesson before your tutor arrives. Of course! We use Stripe as our third party payment platform. Stripe are PCI compliant, so you’re protected from fraud, and can we issued refunds without any cost to you. (But only if you pay through the website, please see our terms).

A

By default, when searching for a tutor you will be shown the nearest tutors to your location. Travelling longer distances may incur additional travel costs; however the tutor will inform you if this is the case, and any travel costs can be mutually agreed before the lesson is booked. Most tutors would expect to travel up to 45 minutes to get you, at no extra cost. If there are additional charges the tutor will make you aware of that. You can always ask the tutor for online lessons if there is the possibility of travel costs being added to the costs of your lessons. Most of our Tutors infact use Skype and can carry out lessons online with no additional cost. Sometimes online courses is the perfect answer.

A

If a tutor is late for a lesson then it is the duty of the tutor to arrange to make up the lost time by finding a time that suits you both, either on the same day or another mutually convenient time. Usually the tutor will make up the time during the lesson. For example if the tutor was 30 minutes late they would stay an extra 30 minutes at the end of the lesson. If this is not possible you can then either ask the tutor to make up the time at the next lesson, or contact us and we will arrange a partial refund for you. If the tutor fails to do this then please contact us via disputes@tutorhouse.co.uk and we will respond to your dispute within 48 hours, if not sooner.

A

While you think it is faster it elevates your risk and you use lose all the benefits of Tutor House policies. Paying the tutor directly is NOT secure nor protected. If you do pay a tutor outside of the Tutor House website you will not be protected by our 48 Hour Cancelation Policy, our Disputes Policy or our Refund Policy. We also can not protect you from fraud or spam accounts. Before messaging a tutor you are required to sign our Terms and Conditions. Any loss of earning would be considered a legal matter. Tutor House is designed to introduce excellent tutors to customers putting tutors in touch with students and learners. We help and support students to get the best out of their learning experience. If you use the Tutor House website you must complete all bookings within the online platform, including the arrangement of any other services provided by tutors for clients. If you make any arrangement with a tutor that you were introduced to through Tutor House, outside the online platform, either for tuition or payment, you will have broken our terms and conditions. In this case, neither the tutor or customer (parent or student) will be protected or covered, as mentioned above. For more information about payment please refer to our terms and conditions.

A

Yes, we do take a fee, but at a fraction of the rate which other companies charge. We don’t have a sign up fee for new customers, we don’t charge an introduction fee, and we don’t charge administration fees. However, we do charge a small commission which pays for the security of tutors (we meet all tutors, check their DBS certificates and ensure they are who they say there are), and the maintenance of the site. If you have any problems using the site, you can always email or call us.

A

If you are running late for a booking then please do let the tutor know via the in-app messenger as soon as possible because the tutor may still have to finish the lesson at the scheduled time, depending on his/her availability. However, tutors will usually try to make up time lost at the end of the session for the intended duration, although it’s important to note that this is at the tutor’s discretion. Tutors will usually wait for 30 minutes, but again this is at the tutor’s discretion – tutors may well have to leave at the original time for another lesson. If you are late for the lesson, tutors will charge for the full amount that has been agreed and confirmed. We operate a 48 hour cancellation policy, which means that if you cancel the lesson with 48 hours you will be charged the full amount.

A

Once you have found tutors which fit your criteria you can send an enquiry to them straight away. You’ll need to register with Tutor House before you can contact tutors (this is to order to ensure that you are protected by our Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy). To send an enquiry to your selected tutor(s) add them to your enquiry list and confirm by pressing the button at the bottom of the page. If you are a new user you will then be asked to register. If you are a returning user you will be prompted to sign into your account. Once signed in you will need to fill out your enquiry details and teaching requirements before sending your message to your selected tutors. After the enquiry has been sent we will contact you within 48 hours. If your tutor of choice has not replied within this time we will either contact them on your behalf or put you in touch with another of our highly experienced tutors.

A

Once you have made the lesson request, you can communicate with the tutor. You can discuss your tuition requirements and the lesson timing with in-app instant messaging. The messaging is instant, so your tutor will receive the notification via both; the website and email. Hence he or she can respond to immediately. You may wish to discuss your preferred lesson time and date, or discuss which exam board you’re studying for A-levels and GCSE’s, or even to discuss specific text and books which you are currently studying. Also, You can communicate with the tutor with the instant in-app messaging at any point (before or after the booking has been made). Please note that it is possible for you and the tutor to mutually agree to booking changes after this stage. This must be done within the messenger app on the website. You can also use the same means of comunication to find out more about the tutor, after you have requested a booking. In addition to this you can always check the tutors reviews and ranking.

A

After selecting your tutor for your desired material, you can book a lesson right away! Send an inquiry to your selected Tutor and once a tutor accepts your inquiry, it will be registered as an ‘open enquiry’ within your messages tab. This is where you will be able to communicate with our tutors, discuss your requirements, arrange lesson times, and book and pay for lessons. When you submit your booking request, the credit card details provided will be subject to an authorisation hold (to the total amount agreed with the tutor for the cost of the initial session and for any other lessons which will take place thereafter). Not only that, but you can also rate and review your tutor once you’ve had your lesson! Tutor House values your feedback.
