I studied a BA Hons French degree and a PGCE in French to A-level and with English to GCSE. I am also an experienced TEFL teacher.
I have taught in France, in the UK, in both state and private sectors and in international language schools. I have taught privately as a private tutor to other companies and local families with outstanding results over the last 12 years, gaining 5 entries at scholarship level 13+ into the following schools, Charterhouse, St John's Leatherhead, Kings' Wimbledon, Wellington College and Royal Grammar School Guildford.
I use the latest grammar books, French internet, media materials where relevant, translations, past papers and the school curriculum based on the year and level of the pupil. I am focused on teaching the intricate details of how easily the pupil can lose marks and where to focus and how to gain them having mastered the language with me. This always motivates my students. I make them realise that reaching an A* is not unobtainable and that with my guidance, they can do it, which they inevitably do. I have practised french aural questions even on hands-free driving to work whilst my pupils are on the way to their exams to ensure that nothing goes wrong. They can always contact me and I change my timings for them when I can. I understand that sometimes, they are suddenly sick and need to cancel last minute. I use the basis of repetition and reinforcement to achieve the impossible, getting a D grade in March to an A in June.
As a person, I am patient, kind and well-travelled. I spent 14 years as a flight attendant and made use of speaking French on flights and in French-speaking countries I visited. I have brought up two successful children too. I enjoy dog walking and I sing at Eton College choir. I was invited to become a committee member last September. We sang at HRH Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday at Windsor castle.
