Are you hoping to apply to top UK Art and Design undergraduate courses within the next year? Contact me to get a head start preparing your portfolio, and get motivated by working on a project outside of school. I also offer help with Art and Design study from GCSE level and up, and literacy skills for primary school age children. However big or small your goal, I would love to support you in achieving it. I studied Fine Art to degree level at Central Saint Martins College, and I am currently studying MA Photography at the Royal College of Art. Portfolio preparation for art and design university entrance is my speciality. In the last year my clients have gained places on top art courses at Central Saint Martins, Goldsmiths, Brighton, Nottingham Trent and Kingston. I am committed to education and the arts, and since graduating from the University of the Arts London in 2014 Prior to becoming a tutor I was employed as Archives and Special Collections Assistant at University of the Arts London, supporting teaching, learning and research for students of a wide range of academic abilities and needs. This role included giving workshops to students on a one-to-one basis, and in larger groups. I was also a guest tutor for the MA Culture, Criticism and Curation course at Central Saint Martins. Before my role at the university was made full time I was able to volunteer with the charity Beanstalk as a Reading 321 Helper, supporting three children twice weekly to improve their literacy. These were children in Primary School who had been identified as being behind with their reading skills. I have also been involved with The Girls Network Mentoring Scheme. If your child is struggling with literacy, and needs to find enjoyment in reading, contact me. Coming from a creative, academic background I appreciate that everyone has their own style of learning. I like to engage children with their own creativity in order to assist them with problem solving and finding their unique way to reach their academic goals.

Hello! I'm a recent architecture graduate, and I want to help your child achieve their potential and stimulate a positive attitude towards learning. It's as simple as that. In my opinion, the root of successful tuition consists of three factors: the attention the tutor pays to the student's learning methods, the passion the tutor has for the subject and the enjoyment the tutor receives from the act of teaching. My teaching methods hinge on the recognition that every child is unique. There is no "one size fits all" solution to learning, and hence I establish as quickly as possible which of the various techniques works best for my students and then apply the relevant tutoring methods. As well as maximising academic progress, this approach gives you more value for money. I know that a concept fully understood and a method embedded and consolidated through practice will arm your child with the confidence and skills they need to tackle any question or problem successfully. I also know that the key to success is effective study skills and habits. I can show your child how to organise their learning into easy to revise chunks that work for them. This is a skill that will carry them through their whole education. Anyone who knows me well knows my three main passions to be architecture, Spanish and football (because I rarely talk about anything else!). Unfortunately Tutor House don't offer football coaching, so instead I've opted to tutor the beautifully logical language of Spanish and the disciplines that underpin architecture: maths and physics. So, what makes me qualified to teach these subjects? As shown by my qualifications, I hold an A grade in both maths and physics A-Level with AQA and OCR, respectively. This knowledge is put to use daily in my job as an architectural assistant, where we use calculation and scientific reasoning to create imaginative, effective and innovative architecture that pushes materials to their physical limits. I studied Spanish up to AS-Level, receiving an A grade, and lived in Spain for 9 months last year working as an English teacher. Immersing myself in the language allowed me to learn it from a new, colloquial perspective, broadening my capability. Being the son of a teacher, I've always been close to the profession, and have learnt a lot about the process of teaching and learning through discussion with and observation of my mother. I get a sense of happiness and pride from helping people do things that they couldn't do before, so have always sought out opportunities to teach. In Spain I worked in a primary school, teaching ages 4-12 a range of subjects in the students' non-native English. It was incredibly satisfying to see how far they progressed month to month, and when I left to return to England it was sad to say goodbye; we'd built up quite the relationship. In addition I tutored young adults individually to improve their English. On returning home I have been involved in a term long programme for the organisation Archimake, which teaches children architectural design skills and inspires confidence in their creative ability. My other relevant experience includes childcare and mentoring. My positive and energetic character allowed me to build up a rapport with the children that I minded in their own homes, out and about and on their family holidays abroad. I strove to be an outstanding and trusted role model, whilst allowing them to have fun. At university I was a peer mentor to architecture students in the year below me. My role was to ensure their mental wellbeing as they adapted to university life and the intense architecture degree. Despite being a young tutor, my varied experience thus far has taught me a diverse range of skills and techniques that lend themselves to successful tutoring. I also think that my age makes me more relatable to students. In many cases I will understand and even remember the emotion behind their frustrations, allowing me to formulate a more considered and effective response. My attention to detail and thoughtful approach will provide your child with a considered tailor-made tutoring package. Meanwhile, my irrepressible passion for my chosen subjects coupled with a knowledge base formed by their intense study will facilitate productive and engaging tutoring. Finally, through my love of teaching I will try to inspire a fascination with learning in your child that will benefit them for the rest of their life. It's as simple as that.

I am a UCL English graduate with extensive experience in writing, editing and peer reviewing essays, critical reviews and texts. I have further tutoring experience teaching digital skills, including Photoshop, Microsoft Office and video editing. Across my time at UCL, I hosted workshops in the film studio as the Film Society's Documentary Producer, guiding students as they directed and edited short films. As an English student, I further mentored younger students through the course, engaging with texts and practising writing and proofreading - in a degree that required a fortnightly essay. My background is in writing and sub-editing magazine content, filmmaking and creative writing. As a keen reader, with a strong knowledge of literary and film history, current affairs and global news, my tutoring approach takes in the bigger picture, considering the context of what is being studied and its purpose in today's world. Always friendly and approachable, I am a strong listener and clear communicator, ready to provide insight on cultural and digital skills.

I'm new to tutoring but I've worked in commercial photography as a retoucher for over 10 years. I have managed a small post production team, helped new retouchers develop their skills, developed new workflows and advised photographers on what's possible to achieve "in post". I have a degree in Fine Art and I first got into Photoshop as a way to achieve my student art projects. I started retouching professionally for a product photography company in 2008, initially cutting out mannequin shots before moving on to all aspects of photographic post production. As a freelancer I went on to work for a wide variety of clients, on subjects like food, fashion, portraiture, interiors, cars, electronics, cosmetics and jewellery. I learned to automate repetitive tasks with Photoshop actions. When I reached the limits of what those could do, I taught myself to code in Adobe's language ExtendScript, developing scripts that take large batches of images and process them all differently at high speed. Informally, I have been offering tips and training to friends for years, but now I'm looking to supplement my income as a freelance retoucher by offering my tutoring on a commercial basis. I think Photoshop is best learned through doing, so I'd advise anyone approaching it to have some projects in mind, at least one image to work on, and we can go from there!

DBS CHECKED! My name is Josh, I am a BSc Hons Investment and Finance graduate, tutoring several pupils at present. I achieved ten A*-A’s at GCSE, (equivalent to ten grade 8-9's in the current grading system). I have also achieved straight A's in Biology, Chemistry, Geography, and Maths to A-Level and have a wealth of tutoring experience with pupils in the UK and overseas. With the necessary resources – pre-printed worksheets, digital whiteboard, past papers, ex-students` exam answer sheets and equipment for small experiments - every lesson is made lively and interesting. The pace of learning of the student will be one of my main focuses as the tutor and, therefore, will be the only factor which decides the pace of the lessons - never too slow or too fast, but, just right. One of the main difficulties a student faces in a classroom is to adjust to the pace of teaching which varies depending on the response of so called 'better' students. In an environment, where no question is a silly question, a whole new confidence is instilled at the beginning and a new pace of fun and learning begins. Soon, you will feel confident and begin to thrive, not only in the subject you are getting help in but, in every other area of your study. I always encourage students to challenge the ways they approach their academic work, which helps to increase their competitiveness when it comes to university applications. Any questions you may have, great or small, feel free to get in touch!

Do you want the advantage of real world experience? Having worked in the creative world of advertising for 20 years since graduating from one of the world's renowned universities, I have been teaching students from over 10 different countries across the Middle East and the UK. I have successfully tutored young learners, adults and undergraduates, both privately and in colleges to improve, strive and succeed. After graduating from University of the Arts London with a BA (Hons) in Communication I went on to work as an Art Director and then later as a Creative Director in advertising where I managed, art directed and wrote advertising scripts for radio and TV and digital media. Along the way, I also started training clients for their marketing and design requirements. I worked in London for fifteen years and in 2008 went to Dubai as a Creative Director for a multinational advertising agency. In 2012 I got married and went traveling with his wife and started teaching English with Dubai as a base. That same year I got a post teaching the academic English course to undergraduates at the Dubai branch of Shiraz University, one of Iran’s most prestigious universities. This was an incredibly challenging job with large classes of terrifyingly bright young adults studying subjects as diverse as Engineering and Architecture to Finance and Chemistry!
A baptism by fire like no other. Following that, I instructed at three colleges in Dubai as a freelancer. I ended up specializing in Business English, particularly in the areas of presentation skills and writing. I studied the IELTS exam and became the prime instructor for this at another college in Dubai. The classes were huge, but a lot of fun! Once a week the class was divided into a smaller Academic group, which I also planned lessons for and taught. These students were predominantly medical professionals looking to work for the NHS in the UK. Since returning to London from Dubai in 2016, I have been teaching as a freelancer in London colleges as well as privately. Having worked in the advertising industry for almost twenty years, I feel this gives me a natural edge in the education field because of my ability to effectively communicate difficult ideas and concepts in a fun and engaging and above all, memorable way. My approach is very student – centered as a result. Online, The Red Ink is now an invaluable resource for English language students looking to take the IELTS exam as well as a forum for writing and general English language knowledge.

Welcome to my profile ! My name is Dr. Michelle-Ann, I am a medical doctor who absolutely loves teaching. I ensure that each student's learning experience, is personalised and memorable. My mantra is "Learning is FUN"! How can learning be fun you might wonder? Well, great question! During my five (5) years teaching experience I have found that, presenting lessons in a fun way have helped students to retain subject knowledge better. I have used games, appropriate to the age group of students, varying from a mini basketball game, a game of miniature bowling and for more mature students a game of problem solving related to the lesson. Each activity has two things in common, it is fun for the student and it is based on a reward system. The reward systems have included but is not limited to: stickers for young students; applause for more mature students or just simply some words of encouragement. These incentives are simple yet effective forms of motivation. This fun based approach, provides an optimum learning environment for students and inevitably helps them to succeed.

Why should I book lessons with a Photoshop tutor?

Unlike online courses learning Photoshop with a private tutor allows you to truly master the software, helping you to both quickly and effectively overcome any issues you face with the program. With 1:1 lessons you get expert advice and support from a Photoshop master, helping you to gain the confidence you need in your own abilities to take your skills to the next level.

Why not just take an online Photoshop course?

With an online Photoshop course, you don't have the opportunity to ask the teacher questions in real-time. With a tutor you aren't stuck to the regimented teaching of a pre-recorded video and instead get to ask all the questions you need to master Adobe Photoshop.

Why should I learn Photoshop?

Knowing your way around Photoshop is a hugely valuable skill. For most jobs, Photoshop is now a requirement especially when it comes to creative-based and design-focused roles. Being able to say you have excellent knowledge of this program on your CV can make you stand out from the crowd. Whether you are learning Photoshop for your own photo editing or are looking to develop your skills for your resume, why not book a free online rial call with the Photoshop tutor of your choice today!

Looking for an Adobe Photoshop tutor?

Whether you have always wanted to be a Photoshop pro or simply want to give your CV a boost, an Adobe Photoshop tutor from Tutor House can help you achieve your goals. No matter your age or experience learning Photoshop online is a rewarding and effective way to learn the skills you need to unlock your creativity.

As a staple in the creative design community, being able to understand how to use the main features of Adobe Photoshop is an essential requirement of most if not all design-based jobs from graphic design to artworker roles. Our one-on-one online tuition is far more effective and rewarding than any photoshop tutorial or course, our tutors will tailor their teaching to suit your individual needs and will be on hand to answer your questions in real-time over face to face virtual calls.
