Hi! My name is Rachel and I am a recent Modern languages graduate with a passion for teaching and helping others with their French and Spanish language level. I have just graduated from Queen Mary, University of London with a 2:1 in French and Spanish, with distinctions in oral grades for both languages. I lived and worked in Spain for a year as a language assistant in two schools. My pupils ranged between 6 and 17. I also ran private classes for students in their final year of school and have tutored A-Level French and Spanish students in preparation for their oral exams. I have also worked at a Summercamp for the past three Summers leading sport and activity sessions for international students. I have a lot of experience working with children and am eager to encourage learning new languages. My lessons vary from hour conversational oral classes (in either French or Spanish) to breaking down the complexities of French and Spanish grammar. I can adapt my lessons to suit the necessities of each student and can tutor both in person and online.

I'm an experienced science and language tutor with more than 10 years of teaching. SCIENCES I'm doing a PhD in Biology at the University of Oxford and have taught both within the university and in private summer schools in Oxford on the topic. I teach both high school students who need help preparing for exams, as well as university students who want to go in-depth within a certain subject or understand course material. My methods focus on applied learning, which means I'll help you understand why it is important to learn something and what you can do with that knowledge, not just how to learn. My teaching method for A-level students focuses on problem-based learning similar to university admissions interviews. I am comfortable teaching younger students in a variety of science subjects, including students with learning difficulties. You can expect a very fun, hands-on approach to learning. LANGUAGES I have extensive experience in teaching IELTS and other language exams (CPE, TOEFL). I have taught students successfully at the last minute. My approach is very tailored to the individual, so we would focus on the most effective techniques for the student. I have studied Spanish for over 10 years and obtained the highest certificate in Spanish as Foreign Language (DELE) with distinction. I was awarded first prize in many Spanish international competitions. For four years, I did courses in Spanish geography, history and culture, and I normally use what I learned to make my classes interactive and more than a way of teaching a language. I like immersing people in the Spanish culture, with its food, dances, famous painters and explorers. Have taught Spanish as foreign language for more than ten years, in one-to-one and one-to-few sessions. I adapt my style to the students I work with - for one, it can be all about having fun while translating lyrics of famous songs and watching Spanish short films (audio, experiential learners); for another it can be about rigorously tackling grammar and crafting complex stories. Regardless of the approach, you should expect that after a year of weekly/fortnightly classes you would advance by two levels (e.g. A2 to B2). I wholeheartedly recommend trying learning a language from a non-native speaker, as the way a foreign language is learned is very different from a native tongue. If you speak foreign languages, you know what I mean. If not, just give it a go!

Hello! I'm a recent graduate of the University of Sheffield, where I studied Politics & Philosophy. I'm waiting to start a Masters in Latin American Studies, which leads on to a fully-funded PhD research programme. I'm in London until then, and doing some tutoring in the meantime! My speciality is in the humanities, and I have a broad knowledge of politics, philosophy, history and related subjects – don't hesitate to message for a full list of the subjects I offer. I can also help with essay-writing, uni/job applications and developing critical thinking skills, and I'm fluent in Spanish. My teaching ethos is to cater to the interests and learning style of my students – we'll start off working out on what you already know and build from this, filling in any gaps at a pace that suits you. I believe in education as an active dialogue between teacher and student: I don't just tell you how to do things or what to memorise, but instead we learn together in a two-way process. Rest assured, through this method, I can help!

I have loved studying since I was in primary school because it gave me a sense of satisfaction and enthusiasm, especially when it's a subject I like. I tutor since I was 14, firstly as I volunteer and afterwards paid. I have always been a helpful girl and I will try to aid everyone as soon as I can. I worked in a non-profit association in Italy for three years, where I used to help primary and secondary school student in their studies. Meanwhile I tutored in English and Italian my schoolmates because my teacher asked if I could make myself available for others. Finally I worked as tutor for a 6 years old boy, who needed help in all his school subjects. I always try to help everyone, however sometimes I may not know something and in this case I always look online for more information in order to improve my knowledge about a specific problem. Additionally, I believe that everyone has the right to be taught, as Malala Yousafzai said, all we need is a pen and a teacher. I hope I can help you/your friends/child with their difficulties and overcome any type of problem when it shows.

Hi, I am a highly motivated and fully qualified teacher (with PGCE, QTS and DBS) committed to providing quality standards of work and with a proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. I am fluent in English and Spanish from an Anglo-Spanish family with the ability to teach Spanish All Key Stages including KS5 (IB/A-Levels); French KS2 and KS3; and ESOL. My aim is to work as a language teacher because I am extremely interested in languages and education. I hope to help students to enjoy learning a language and its culture. I would like to be able to bring my subject to life by teaching it to students. Learning a foreign language is the first step towards an understanding and recognition of different cultures and communities. I would describe my teaching style as interactive, engaging and enriching. In order to make language learning more tangible and ‘real’ for students, I try to use authentic material whenever possible (e.g. video clips, popular songs, movie extracts, newspaper and/or magazine articles). My key strengths are in communicating with people and in providing quality standards of work. I enjoy the challenge of learning new knowledge and skills and have a proven ability to adapt to new situations. I am a good team player, adept at motivating. I would like to share my experience and knowledge with students. I find that the position advertised to work for your organisation seems the best way to achieve these aims. Kind regards, Dave

I am a qualified teacher of Spanish, French and German. I have taught in the classroom and been a private tutor for nine years. This includes working as a Head of Languages in a secondary school. I've always been passionate about languages. But when I was a pupil, with an overemphasis on vocabulary and an underemphasis on grammar, the teaching limited my progress. This motivated me to become a languages teacher who gives students the underlying framework of a language in order to accelerate their progress toward fluency. I've had proven success. Due to my GCSE results, I was promoted to Head of Department within two years of stepping foot in the classroom - success which I sustained at KS3, GCSE and A-Level. While I love the classroom, my passion has turned towards one-to-one tuition, simply because the learning gains are so quick. Since taking on a new role for the Department for Education in whole-school improvement, I have more flexibility to offer private tuition, bringing my experience of Ofsted-outstanding teaching and learning to my online lessons. The one-to-one format allows me to pack more into my lessons than in the classroom, and to go deeper with each of my students. You can expect to be supported and challenged. You'll have homework after every lesson. Something I place a high value on is explaining to you, where appropriate, the language learning process so that you can begin to map out your learning journey towards fluency. I studied Spanish, French and German at University so am equally proficient in all three. I also earned a Masters in Education Leadership in 2014. I offer lessons at every level. Whether you're someone who has never tried a language, a GCSE student, or someone who's looking for a conversation partner, I'd love to meet you. Get in touch!

Hey! I am an american, living in london, with a master's in Bioinformatics. This is the intersection between maths/computer science/and biology, and I absolutely love it. I did my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at King's College London, graduating in 2019. Prior to this I did maths at a college in the USA. At highschool I did IB Biology, IB Spanish Language, and IB Chemistry for my standard levels, and HL math, and HL Spanish literature for my higher levels, as well as AP Physics C (this is an American equivalent of IB Physics). I'm able to teach all the way from KS3, GCSE, A-level and early degree level also for maths, biology, chemistry and Spanish. I have been tutoring math since I was a HL IB math student myself (2015). I have tutored Algebra 1 through IB maths. I find that it is so much easier to understand content, than it is to memorize it. Math (and chemistry) can become so abstract at times, it's easy to forget why we are studying them. I personally have a passion for biology, and love the way biology can be explained with math and chemistry. I enjoy creating real life examples and applications in order to explain concepts in all subjects. I want to tutor so that I may share the enjoyment of science with others.

I am an experienced tutor, with over 10 years of experience. I am passionate about good quality teaching and a strong advocate for education. I enjoy sharing my subject knowledge and helping my students achieving their goal through rigorous work and emotional investment. I have a BA, MA and MSc in History and related subjects (Philosophy, Religious Studies, Cultures) and I am currently completing my PhD in the History of Emotions. As a trained historian, I am able to see the bigger picture, putting pieces together, with the strongest eye for details. Usually, I am excellent in identifying and addressing problems, especially in regards to my students or my classroom environment. My students have described me as a ‘rigorous’ and ‘inspiring’ tutor. I am Italian and I have been educated both in Italy (BA, MSc) and in the UK (MA, PhD). I have a wide, deep, solid knowledge of Humanities, particularly History, Cultural Studies and Religious Studies. I am fluent in English, Italian (mother tongue), Spanish (University level, DELE diploma) and French. I have also studied Ancient Greek and Latin. I can teach a History lesson starting from the etymology of a word, quoting literary texts and primary sources, using several different historiographical approaches. On the contrary, I can teach Spanish and Italian not only focusing on linguistic functions or grammar, but also explaining the meaning and use of the language through the culture and history of Spain and Italy. I would say my teaching approach is Socratic and solidly interdisciplinary. Essentially, I am comfortable teaching any subject in the Humanities. Currently I am working as an Assistant Tutor at the University of Warwick, where I teach a module focused on Early Modern European History, which is my area of expertise. I have experience in planning and delivering lessons, marking assignments, monitoring students' progress, being aware of health and safety as well as pastoral issues related to my students. During the last two years I have also worked for a charity called 'The Brilliant Club', delivering academic style programmes in schools, to promote higher educations for young people with high potentiality but disadvantaged backgrounds. I regularly teach Italians to kids in my local area and, when still residing in Italy, I worked for several years as private tutor for private families, assisting kids aged 7 to 17.

I graduated from Oxford University in 2016. I tutored throughout my studies, and consequently have six years of experience - both in the UK and abroad. I have worked as an Education Consultant in Dubai for the last year. A requirement of my current work is that I be well versed in tutoring all UK Curriculum core subjects. I teach History, Latin and English A-level as my main subjects. I have specialised in tutoring the humanities at A level and IB Level tutoring French (I have a C2 level), the classics (including Greek and Latin), politics, religious studies and history. I have taught at all levels, having worked with students as young as 5 years-old, through to A-Level students and adult learners. I have experience in preparing students for the ISEB Pre-tests, for 11+, 13+ and common entrance - English and maths. As an Education Consultant, I have successfully coached many students through the application procedures to top UK independent schools, including Eton College and Harrow School, and to top universities including Cambridge University and University College London. I am a committed tutor and have consistently produced excellent results. I believe that effective teaching must focus on the student’s needs and must be engaging and fun. I always strive to bring the best out in my students.

Finding a Spanish GCSE tutor in your area

As one of the most useful languages to learn, Spanish has become one of the most popular subject choices at GCSE level. If you are planning on taking Spanish beyond secondary school to university or applying it to any job or apprenticeship, it is essential that you achieve a minimum of a grade 5. As Spanish encompasses an equal amount of writing, speaking, listening assessments you will need to be well rounded in each area to achieve good results. Many students seek Spanish tutors at GCSE level to help them perform to the best of their ability in what is, for many, the first assessment of their second language. We recommend finding your Spanish tutor at least 3 months before your first exam to ensure that you achieve up to 3 grades above your current grade level. At Tutor House, we have a wide variety of tutors available to help you. Many of our tutors are native speakers ensuring that our students receive the best possible understanding of both the language and the culture from fluent speakers. We cater to a variety of different exam boards and provide personalised tuition for each individual student. With our vast range of tutors at affordable prices, your/your child’s Spanish GCSE has the potential to rise up to 3 grades! For best results make sure you book your tuition well in advance (we suggest 3 months before the exam date) to make sure you or your child is in the best position possible for the big day. All of our verified tutors are DBS checked so you can rest assured that your child is in the best possible hands in preparation for their Spanish GCSE exams. Once you have contacted and connected with your tutor you are free to discuss everything directly with them from lesson times to specific subject areas you need help with. We receive outstanding reviews time and time again from parents and students who are amazed by not only the results from our GCSE Spanish tutees but also by the quality of tutoring provided at Tutor House. Moreover, with our outstanding online tuition available, the need to travel for your lessons is removed meaning that you can access and complete all your lessons online in the comfort of your own home.
