This role included giving workshops to students on a one-to-one basis, and in larger groups. I was also a guest tutor for the MA Culture, Criticism and Curation course at Central Saint Martins. Before my role at the university was made full time I was able to volunteer with the charity Beanstalk as a Reading 321 Helper, supporting three children twice weekly to improve their literacy. These were children in Primary School who had been identified as being behind with their reading skills. I have also been involved with The Girls Network Mentoring Scheme. I have been working with young people for over 4 years now and have gained a well rounded portfolio of experience. Another student of mine has gone on to win poetry competitions. My teaching style is engaging, innovative and supportive. I try to instill confidence and academic curiosity in my students, as I believe this is equally important to achieving top marks. * Fun fact about me: I paint professionally and pursue writing when I’m not tutoring. Hi I'm Emily and I've tutored English language and literature for just over 3 years now, as well as Religious Studies and Philosophy.
