I am a graduate from Imperial College London and Westminster School with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering MEng and have undertaken research at Imperial College London in the fields of green hydrogen and thermofluids. I also proofread scholarly articles and research journal papers for institutions such as ETH Zurich and Imperial College London. I have tutored for approximately 5500 hours over eight years and during this period I have helped over fifty students gain entry to higher education, that are currently studying STEM subjects at top universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College. The vast majority have obtained A*s and As at A-Level. The main emphasis in my lessons is to develop sound conceptual understanding, followed by fluency in answering practise questions, thus targeting excellent performance in exams. I also offer advice on personal statements and help with interview and admission test preparation, and am at your disposal throughout the week for any phone calls about homework problems, university applications, careers, and so on. All this experience throughout has kept me aware of the challenges young learners face, the kindness, understanding, and dedication that lies in a good teacher, and the importance of tailoring communication and teaching styles to the needs of the particular student. Hi! I'm Collette and I've been teaching ever since the age of 16, when I began teaching music lessons to local children, during my A levels, as my school music teacher recommended me to them. I think what my pupils and students enjoy most about my lessons is how much they are treated as individuals; I tailor my teaching to suit the personality and strengths of the learner. I believe everyone has different strengths - my job is to find out what these are, and use them to build the learner's confidence and enthusiasm for whatever they are trying to achieve. My name's Harry, I'm a second year music student studying at Goldsmiths University of London and I'm loving it. I started helping my friend learn the guitar 6 years ago, which sparked my passion for tutoring music / guitar. After gaining more pupils over time I started to build an established following as a teacher in my area. I believe everyone's creative side flourishes at different times to others. I Began studying music at the age of 8, I’ve started first with classical music achieving a Piano Bachelor with the highest marks of the session. Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hold a BSc degree in Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience, an MRes in Research Methods in Neurosciencem and an MA in Music Theatre. Although I have now had a drastic career change, I love using my spare time to tutor anyone (any age and any level!), and my wide variety of interests means I am able to cover a range of different subjects and topics, you'd be surprised at how many subjects actually overlap! I am a Greek-born guitarist and arranger with extensive experience across a variety of music genres. My western music studies together with the music of my middle-eastern roots have brought me close to different musical styles since an early age. This background of classical, pop, folk and world music has led me to the idea of blending and combining all these styles. I am a calm, friendly and disciplined musician and music teacher with 10 years guitar experience playing in groups and as a solo musician. I currently and write and play jazz, funk, soul, blues and bossa nova, and have played rock, punk and folk in the past.
