Hi! I'm Collette and I've been teaching ever since the age of 16, when I began teaching music lessons to local children, during my A levels, as my school music teacher recommended me to them. I think what my pupils and students enjoy most about my lessons is how much they are treated as individuals; I tailor my teaching to suit the personality and strengths of the learner. I believe everyone has different strengths - my job is to find out what these are, and use them to build the learner's confidence and enthusiasm for whatever they are trying to achieve. I am a Glasgow-based musician, composer and sound artist. In 2012 I completed a practice-based PhD in Musical Composition at the University of Aberdeen where my field of research was concerned with impermanence in audio-visual intermedia and headphone-specific composition. My compositional output often includes collaborations with artists of disciplines different from my own, including dance, theatre, film and web design. I have taught music composition, music technology, and orchestration at the University of Aberdeen and Stevenson College, Edinburgh. Since early 2016 I have worked as one half of the Gaelic ambient electronica duo, WHɎTE with singer-songwriter Alasdair Whyte. Our acclaimed debut album, 'Fairich', was released in 2016 and has received positive reviews and regular national and international radio airplay. Our audio-visual stage show, 'Fairich: Live' was selected as part of the Made in Scotland Showcase for Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017. We have just released our second album, 'Tairm'. I currently teach piano to several young people at Rookie Rockstars Music School three days a week in Kirkintilloch and compose for piano in my spare time.

Having to work with children can be challenging. My name's Harry, I'm a second year music student studying at Goldsmiths University of London and I'm loving it. I started helping my friend learn the guitar 6 years ago, which sparked my passion for tutoring music / guitar.
