I am a highly experienced tutor of A level (and GCSE) Physics and Chemistry with an additional specialism in GAMSAT, where I have many successful students. I provide support for students preparing for their entrance exams, and for their GCSE and A level exams. I also assist students with their UCAS applications and university interviews. I have much recent experience of teaching GAMSAT students, a specialism of mine. Recently I won a prize as the best new tutor at a tutorial agency, and last academic year my six A level Physics students achieved A*, A*, A*, A*, A* and A respectively. I am a top-rated GAMSAT tutor. My aim is to help my students to reach their full academic potential and get the grades they deserve. I believe in making sure that the underlying fundamental concepts are fully understood as this provides a solid foundation. There is nothing more rewarding than a student saying, "oh yes, now I get it". My tutoring style is to seek to identify the key areas where support is required and then patiently and sympathetically to help and encourage my tutees to master these areas. I have a post-graduate teaching degree and have taught in a number of Schools, Colleges and Universities. I am also a governor at two schools and chair of Council at one. I tutor individuals and also groups in schools, sixth form Colleges and Russell group universities. I was a lecturer at Imperial College for 26 years where I was an admissions tutor, senior tutor and postgraduate tutor and became deputy director of the Graduate school. I won the Rectors award for excellence in teaching at Imperial College twice. I have recent experience of tutoring and one to one teaching and also of tutoring in four central London schools, namely the City and Islington college, the Harris academy St Johns Wood, St Saviour's and St Olave' school and the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson school, Islington. I have also taught African student classes online. In my spare time I like to swim, exercise in the gym and kayak. I also love to travel and have lived and worked in Singapore, Sydney, Dallas and on a short placement in the Punjab. I support QPR more in hope than in expectation!

I am an experienced tutor with 10 years of tutoring experience, and I am also a qualified teacher. I have taught maths, chemistry, and physics to A-level and biology up to GCSE. I also tutor iGCSE, I.B, and Pre-U exams for all those mentioned subjects. For the past 4 years, I have run retake courses at A-level, improving student's grades, and providing one-on-one online lessons focussed on matching the students’ specific academic requirements to help them reach their full potential. This has resulted in students improving their grades from D’s and C’s to A’s/A*s. I studied for my PGCE at UCL with a specialism in Physics and Maths and I taught in both the private and state education sectors before becoming a full-time tutor. I am a patient teacher who has worked with children of varying abilities with the objective of giving them the confidence to apply themselves to subjects that they may have found difficult in the past. I have a friendly, understanding disposition which puts the student at ease and helps to make their lessons something to look forward to rather than a chore. I am available during weekday evenings during term time and have some limited slots within the day. During the holidays I work weekdays.

I studied for my GCSEs and A-levels at Wallington High School for Girls. In my GCSEs, I have achieved 10 grade 9s, 1 grade 8, 1 grade 7 and an A*. Upon completion of my A levels, I have obtained an A* in Mathematics, A* in Psychology, A in Biology and an A* in Tamil. I currently study MSci Biological Sciences at UCL. The reason I love tutoring is the satisfaction it gives me. Watching my students push through to reach their full potential pushes me to keep tutoring. I have tutored students aged 5-16, both in real life and online, in the past two and a half years, subjects including Mathematics, English, 11+, GCSE Biology and GCSE Mathematics. My lessons are tailored to the needs of my students. I check in with my students every lesson to see if there's any specific topics that they need help in, so that I can plan my next lesson using the topics stated, whilst also making sure to completely teach the course that is being taught throughout the period that I tutor. I love to use interactive exercises and talk about exam tips to help my students achieve the greatest mark possible, while also conducting exam-style practice to see how they are improving throughout the tutoring I have given. Appropriate feedback will always be given, to the parents/guardians of the students if preferred as well. I love dancing and listening to some music! I've been dancing since the age of 5 and it's a great part of who I am. I also love to read books, as I find that it helps me wind down from daily life.

Hello, my name is Malachi 😊 I am a recent first-class Geography graduate from King’s College London, currently working in planning and construction. At University i was able to excel in Geography, achieving a first in every final year module. I was also able to earn the universities formal commendation through the receiving the 'Best Graduating Student' Award in my final year. I also received an A at A-Level in the subject, alongside an A* in my NEA Coursework Studying urban, cultural, and environmental geographies, my interests fall in largely in urbanism. Whether its help with GCSE, A-Level, or Undergraduate geography I am happy to help. Geography is such a diverse and multifaceted subject. Its not just colouring in maps…For me I love drawing on how the subject relates to biology, history, economics, art, politics and so much more. I think my greatest strength is really utilising the subject to help people top think holistically about how we can use geography is so many real world examples and case studies. I would love to share my knowledge in the subject. I can also offer assistance with personal statements and university advice, having received all of my offers from UCL, KCL, and the Universities of Manchester, Leeds, and Newcastle.

I recently graduated from Cambridge with a 2:1 in Natural Sciences and would love to share my passion for learning with others by supporting students to achieve their full potential. During my time as a UCAS tutor, I was able to clearly explain advanced scientific concepts by adjusting my teaching methods to suit the unique learning style of each student and applied my TEFL qualification to support English second language students, all of whom went on to receive offers from Russell Group Universities. Whilst tutoring an 11-year-old boy in Maths, he raised his average grade from a C to an A. Having been elected as the Welfare Officer for the Cambridge University Water Polo Team, I emphasise the importance of mental health and aim to promote the emotional wellbeing of all my students. My pet Labrador Goldie may also make occasional drop-ins in the background of tutoring sessions to provide a little well-needed dopamine. :)

I am an experienced UK-based bilingual language and student support tutor. I teach all levels of English & Russian language. I also provide additional student support helping with dissertations, proofreading, essay writing, 11 plus, verbal reasoning, critical thinking and creative writing. I have a warm and generous tutoring style. UK University admission and exam study skills. I have completed Bachelors in HRM with psychology and Master of Research (Mres) degrees in Manchester and Liverpool. Presently, I am working towards completion of my PhD thesis that is devoted to exploration and development of an alternative conceptually new approach to treatment of speech impediments. As part of my PhD, I occasionally teach undergraduate students in a traditional class-room based setting. Having spent so many years studying, I have a real passion for learning and teaching and am committed to doing my best to help my students acquire a required level of English or Russian language, and that is regardless of what their current level might be. What I often find is that despite studying hard and spending numerous hours rote learning new Russian/English words and phrases, students still find it difficult to understand native Russian speakers, and therefore tend to shy away from interacting. This is due to students having limited or virtually no access to the Russian/English day-to-day vocabulary that is used by native speakers but rarely covered in traditional text books. Practical experience shows that there is more to acquiring a new language than merely remembering few grammatical rules and general vocabulary. Except from teaching all the general rules of the Russian/English language, I intend to provide insight into Russian ways of thinking, mentality, cultural peculiarities as well as Russian day-to-day vocabulary that is used by native speakers but rarely covered in traditional text books. This will significantly enrich your understanding of Russian culture and expand your Russian vocabulary and built your confidence whatever the situation. LESSON STRUCTURE Each class is topical and has a set structure. I provide tailored study packs for all my students. Study packs are emailed to students + homework (optional). In addition to in-class guidance I can provide extra support by email/or phone (5-10 mins daily). Speaking on the phone is reported to be one of the most challenging tasks for foreign speakers. This is an excellent way to practise your speaking skills in a real-life situation. I explain complex grammatical rules in a simple everyday language so that it is understandable and easy to remember for students when they interact in a foreign language in real life situations. I employ variety of methods and techniques helping my students learn without need for tedious and unproductive rote-learning i.e. associative memory, games, flashcards etc.

I am a fully Qualified Secondary School Teacher (Dip. Ed. UNSW, Sydney Australia, 2011 - Science) and I am an accredited secondary school teacher in New South Wales, Australia. Over the last 15 years, I have been involved in classroom teaching (after 2019) and private tuition (2008-2019) in the areas of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics for Exam/College Preparation as well as University Level Courses. I have experience in the UK (GCSE/iGCSE & A-Levels - AQA, Edexcel, OCR exam boards), the International Baccalaureate curriculum in Physics (SL/HL) and Mathematics (SL/HL including the new curriculum), the Australian HSC (Year 11 & 12) School System as well as Oxbridge Admission tests (PAT/STEP/MAT/ENGAA). From the USA Curriculum, I am quite familiar with the AP AB and BC Calculus and AP Physics 1, 2, and C. I also have experience in the USA College/Universities Admission tests, such as the GRE Subject Tests (Physics and Mathematics) preparation as well as SAT and GMAT (Math/Quantitative/Analytic sections). Employment Summary I am currently a full-time Mathematics Specialist at ONCAMPUS, University of Southampton. ONCAMPUS teach pre-university programmes leading to a wide range of undergraduate and Master's degrees at leading universities across the UK, USA and mainland Europe. My most recent assignment was as Physics Lecturer at the Immerse Education Summer Academic Program at Queens College, University of Cambridge. This is a pre-university programme designed to facilitate engaged and motivated students to explore their subject in greater depth, providing them with insight into what it is like to study advanced content within their subject area at Oxbridge Universities. During the period from January to June of 2023, I was a Math and Physics teacher at Northridge School, Mexico City, Mexico (US curriculum). That assignment entailed both teaching in middle school (grades 7,8 ) and high school (grades 10, 11). Prior to this position (academic year 2022-23), I was a Math Teacher at the program “Swiss Semester”, Zermatt Switzerland (following US curriculum) and prior to that, I was a Math Teacher at the University of Brighton International College (on-site) and Kaplan International College London (remote) (GCSE/iGCSE and A-Level curriculum). Before these positions (academic years 2019-22) I was again a math teacher at the Swiss Semester, Zermatt Switzerland (on leave from Kaplan International College London), and I held a teaching position at the Department of Science and Engineering at Kaplan International College London, based at London Bridge, London, UK since August 2019 (GCSE/iGCSE and A-Level curriculum). The program Swiss Semester takes place annually and its duration is only from September to December. Also both Kaplan International College London and University of Brighton College are part of the Kaplan group. Hence the above positions are part of contracts with just two employers. Professional Experience My position at Northridge School, Mexico, included teaching Mathematics at the Middle School (Grades 7 and 8) and High School (Grade 10) as well as High School Physics (Grade 11). The School follows a loose US curriculum. During my six-month tenure at the Northridge School in Mexico, I made significant contributions to the academic environment while facing challenges in terms of student discipline and the school's focus on religious/music and sports activities rather than academics. Despite my dedication and commitment to the role, I made the decision not to extend my contract due to the school's lack of an academically respectable position and my preference for a more balanced academic environment. Additionally, I found myself primarily teaching middle school, which did not align with my initial preferences. Overall, my experience at Northridge School provided valuable insights and reinforced my desire to pursue opportunities that align more closely with my professional goals and interests. My previous position in the Swiss Semester entailed teaching math at the secondary level. The syllabus taught is mainly pre-calculus and Advanced Placement Calculus (also known as AP Calculus AB / BC) is a set of two distinct Advanced Placement Calculus courses and exams offered by the American nonprofit organization College Board. Swiss Semester is a coeducational program of academic, personal, and physical challenge for roughly fifty high school sophomores from the finest independent and public schools in the United States and beyond. Swiss Semester’s campus is Zermatt, Switzerland, an outdoor paradise that epitomizes the security, stability, healthfulness, and natural beauty for which Switzerland is renowned. In regard to the previous teaching role at Kaplan International College London: This role included teaching Pre-Master’s students Statistics, and Foundation Physics, and Mathematics. During the academic year 2019-2020, I was the Pre-Master's Advanced Statistics Module (PM608) coordinator. The module consisted of two intakes: The September Cohort and the January Cohort respectively - The duration of each is 20 weeks apart from some extra 10 weeks where students have to participate in the "Active Learning Weeks" as required by Kaplan. Each Cohort consists of approximately 100 students. Teaching is done in smaller groups of 20-30 students in a collaborative, interactive, "inverted classroom" setup. Each group has three hours of teaching every week on the topic. Over this period, I was in charge of the teaching curriculum, exam preparation, and online and offline content development for this particular course. Apart from the A-Level math courses, I have several teaching hours related to A-Level Physics (equivalent to Year 11, 12 Australian HSC Physics). During this period I taught mostly face-to-face but given the circumstances, a small part of the instruction during the national lockdowns was done online. Apart from the previous role, I am a part-time Private Tutor in Mathematics, Statistics, and Physics. A large part of my work is related to University Level tuition but also the last two grades of High School (exam preparation). Teaching Approach Obviously, apart from the context itself and the expertise in the related fields, there are other essential components of successful teaching like personality, enthusiasm, versatility, appreciation of the importance of outreach, and most important a relation of understanding between the lecturer and the students. Apart from the previous, I think that it is crucial to provide students with a working knowledge of physical systems and to teach them problem-solving skills for building upon this knowledge. Teaching a person to think analytically is at the core of what a student should take away from any science or mathematics course. For students not majoring in physics/math, it is important to teach them how science affects their daily lives and how to make informed decisions about it based on the information available. For physics/math majors it is crucial to teach them the knowledge pertinent to their course of study and how scientists solve difficult problems using approximation, computational, and other quantitative methods. These important tools are invaluable to future researchers because they aid in the careful design of experiments and in determining the predictions of a model or theory. I would also strive to cover a range of topics in my courses. This would enable me to teach an array of different methods for approaching physical problems and to demonstrate how similar approaches can be applied to problems from disparate fields. Furthermore, being a theoretician, I am well suited to teach physics majors how to construct theories and models, to derive predictions from these models, and to test these predictions against empirical data they have collected from the literature or obtained in the laboratory. From my experience, I learned the importance of engaging students through examples and of pitching material at a level that assumes intelligence but not necessarily knowledge, blending the known with the unknown in a combination that gives the student the feeling of possibility rather than that of impossibility that formal and impressive methods may impose. I would also enjoy teaching introductory physics courses. Although it is often challenging to teach introductory students, it is a challenge I thoroughly enjoy. Preparing lectures and solution sets forces me to communicate fundamental ideas in simple terms and to think deeply again about some of the most basic principles in physics and math. During my graduate school period, I had the chance to become familiar with the system of tutorials that some of the British universities offer. This much more personalized system provides the opportunity of outside-of-the-classroom discussion and interaction which are a crucial part of the learning process. Many students who are reserved in class, ask excellent questions in smaller settings and thus, learn much more. I greatly value the instruction and mentorship I received while in college and feel strongly about providing quality education to current and future students. In regards to teaching international students, I am aware and over the years I have used a number of strategies in order to make classroom management and lesson delivery more effective. For example, I always communicate classroom expectations and policies clearly from the beginning of the course. I always try to speak clearly and be concise in my instructions (verbal or written), provide vocabulary at the beginning of a new topic and allow students to use a dictionary and other equipment that would assist them in the learning process. I always encourage students to make use of office hours and make course materials available in print and on the electronic blackboard. Furthermore, I am trying to incorporate opportunities for collaborative learning. Over the years I have become a supporter of the “inverted classroom” approach, especially for the students that are used to a “lecture” type of teaching style or teachers that are distant and authoritative.

***Please confirm the times by messaging me as there is a technical issue on tutor house platform which shows the incorrect availability. I apologise for the inconvenience and I am trying to fix this issue asap. Please message me in the meantime, thank you so much and apologies again*** I am currently pursuing a PhD in Physics at University College London in Quantum Computing, Quantum Information.Prior to this, I have completed MSc in Applied Mathematics and Computing from Imperial College London and an undergraduate degree in Physics from King's College London. My academic journey through some of the UK’s top institutions has provided me with a strong and varied foundation in mathematics and the sciences, equipping me with in-depth knowledge and a solid grasp of these subjects. At A-level, I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, which formed the bedrock of my passion for STEM. Over time, I have developed a genuine enthusiasm for helping others achieve their academic goals, sharing both my expertise and my insights from personal experiences. My focus lies in online tutoring for A-level students in Physics, Mathematics, Computing, and Further Mathematics, and I am also available to assist with university entrance exams and assessments, including the Physics Aptitude Test (PAT), the Natural Sciences Admissions Assessment (NSAA), and the Engineering Admissions Assessment (ENGAA). With over six years of tutoring experience, I have honed a teaching style that is flexible, supportive, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. As a tutor with an enhanced DBS check, I am fully certified to work with students and provide a safe, supportive learning environment. I offer both online sessions and, for those nearby, in-person tutoring at my home. Over the years, I have developed a deep understanding of how to support students effectively through personalized learning. I prioritize identifying the learning style of each student—whether they are auditory, visual, kinesthetic, or intrapersonal learners—and adapting my methods to best suit them. By incorporating these techniques, I help students engage with the material in ways that resonate with them, which not only boosts their understanding but also builds confidence in their abilities. Tutoring Experience I have an enhanced DBS check and have been working as tutor for 6+ years. My approach to tutoring is based on building a solid foundational understanding of each topic before advancing to exam-specific preparation. In our sessions, I start by ensuring that the core concepts are well-understood and that students have a thorough grounding in the subject matter. This may include revisiting fundamental principles and discussing topics in detail, so students develop a comprehensive understanding and can apply their knowledge to complex questions. Once students are confident with the basics, I introduce exam material that progressively challenges them. This dual focus on fundamentals and application ensures that students not only understand the theory but also acquire the skills needed to excel in exams. I place strong emphasis on developing exam techniques, covering time management, question interpretation, and linking knowledge to answer questions accurately and with the appropriate level of detail. In addition to A-level tutoring, I support students who are preparing for university entrance exams in STEM subjects, such as the PAT, NSAA, and ENGAA. With personal experience navigating competitive exams and applications, I offer insights into what these assessments entail and the most effective preparation strategies. I can also assist with personal statements, helping students highlight their strengths, achievements, and genuine interest in their chosen fields to make a compelling case for admission. Currently, I am working on a website designed to help students prepare for A-level Physics and university entrance exams. Drawing from my own experiences and expertise, I aim to create an accessible platform with resources, practice questions, and guides that can support students in reaching their academic goals outside of tutoring sessions. Tutoring Approach I give online tuitions. I base my approach to tutoring after evaluating what type of learner they are, whether that is auditory, visual, kinaesthetic or an intrapersonal learner. I can tailor my teaching to meet their needs. Additionally, my teaching method involves providing a strong foundation on the topics first, then giving suitable exam material to further the understanding of the student, ensuring that they have the skills needed for the exams. I can go through the exam techniques in detail so they can link back what they have learnt to answer questions to appropriate detail. My goal as a tutor is to inspire students and help them unlock their full potential, not only by improving their grades but by fostering a genuine interest in the subjects they study. I am committed to making learning a rewarding experience and guiding students towards academic success with tailored support, proven techniques, and a passionate approach to teaching.
