I studied Fine Art to degree level at Central Saint Martins College, and I am currently studying MA Photography at the Royal College of Art. Portfolio preparation for art and design university entrance is my speciality. In the last year my clients have gained places on top art courses at Central Saint Martins, Goldsmiths, Brighton, Nottingham Trent and Kingston.
I am committed to education and the arts, and since graduating from the University of the Arts London in 2014 Prior to becoming a tutor I was employed as Archives and Special Collections Assistant at University of the Arts London, supporting teaching, learning and research for students of a wide range of academic abilities and needs. This role included giving workshops to students on a one-to-one basis, and in larger groups. I was also a guest tutor for the MA Culture, Criticism and Curation course at Central Saint Martins.
Before my role at the university was made full time I was able to volunteer with the charity Beanstalk as a Reading 321 Helper, supporting three children twice weekly to improve their literacy. These were children in Primary School who had been identified as being behind with their reading skills. I have also been involved with The Girls Network Mentoring Scheme. If your child is struggling with literacy, and needs to find enjoyment in reading, contact me. Coming from a creative, academic background I appreciate that everyone has their own style of learning. I started my career in film after completing an undergraduate degree in Media Production at Northumbria University in Newcastle. For two years I taught English and Maths with 'The Complete Works' to secondary school aged students who were not in mainstream education, often working with children with SEN and behavioural issues. I used art and creative processes to engage the students in learning which in turn would alter their mind-set of education and push their boundaries of what they thought they could achieve.
