Why is Physical Education important?
PE is a great way to teach students about healthy movement and lifestyle. It also encourages group activity, which is an essential life skill for future employability. Research also shows that physical activity releases endorphins which improves general wellbeing.
How to become a PE teacher
Firstly you need to study and achieve a minimum of 4 GCSEs (A*-C), 2 A Levels and a degree with PGCE. To become a PE teacher, you will need to pass the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) which will lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Most importantly, you need drive and a passion for sports or training!
Want to train in the Olympics?
In 2012 London hosted the Olympics, which saw a huge increase in interest for all things sports and physical education.
Perhaps you're someone who's looking to become an Olympic star? It all starts with the right training — so why not hire a private PE teacher? Learn the skills and tricks as all the top winners like Tom Daly and Jessica Ennis by extending your school PE lessons.
At Tutor House, our tutors are trained to an expert level. Many of our PE teachers have had professional and competitive training in sports like gymnastics, swimming and horse-riding. The best way to learn is 1:1 and then you'll see that PE will never be boring again!

Physical EducationI am writing to recommend Thomas Regan. He worked with us at Brunel University as a Duty Manager and reported to me in my position as the Head of Sport. As an employee, Thomas was always motivated and provided forward-thinking ideas which help our department grow and attract new customers. During his time in my team, he managed to work with the governors of the university to help provide funding for our new Indoor Athletics Centre track (one which has seen the likes of Mo Farah and Usain Bolt).
