Hi, my name is Andrew and I’m a fully qualified experienced senior practicing teacher with 16 years experience in teaching, and 12 years experience as a tutor. I’ve been an examiner since 2009 and worked for Ofqual as a subject expert for a number of years. I strive to be approachable and reassuring in order to create an atmosphere where my students feel comfortable sharing their challenges, and ensuring they know I’m there to help. My specialism is offering subject knowledge enhancement and exam skills including more focused tutoring for those crucial moments like exams, assessments and coursework however I also offer long-term, general tutoring for students who need broader support throughout the school year. I’m happy to now offer all my classes online which allows you to get the most out of our lessons, I am able to devote the time I would be travelling to and from you to provide a better service. I use the best technology (e.g. up to date HD Audio Visual equipment, ultrafast wired broadband, online whiteboard, screen sharing, a document camera and other enhancements) and I provide an exceptional learning experience that cannot be matched by face to face tuition. I’m available online for your convenience from Monday to Friday and on weekends (during peak times) from 9AM to 9PM. FAQ: Are you a qualified teacher and for how long have you been tutoring? Yes, I’m a fully qualified experienced senior practicing teacher with 16 years experience in teaching, and 12 years experience as a tutor. I’ve been an examiner since 2009 and worked for Ofqual as an assessment expert for a number of years. What exam boards do you work with? I work with all the major exam boards in the UK including AQA, OCR, Edexcel, Eduqas/WJEC, Cambridge Assessment and IB. How to Book? Using the Tutorhouse systems I don’t feel comfortable with studying online. Will it work? I have been working online long before the lockdown, and it has always been proving to be much more efficient than face-to-face tutoring. I have never had any complaints and in fact many clients I work with have switched to online because of the current circumstances for good, and are very happy about it. All that the student will need is a laptop with Internet connection and the rest of their usual studying routine such as notebooks, textbooks, etc. How is online tutoring different from face-to-face tutoring? It’s not very different at all. The only differences actually show advantages of online tutoring. I use whiteboard which I have set up in my working space, so the class resembles the classroom experience quite a lot. I am also able to share my screen which allows me to: - Work on the essays together with the student in real time - Quickly share videos, articles, essays and other studying resources in real time - Use books and textbooks from my home library that I can’t carry to face-to-face meetings And many more. I use a full state-of-the-art equipment set-up for the best online tutoring experience which makes my online lessons much more efficient and informative than classic tutoring. My child has SEN. Can you help? I work a lot with children with SEN and being dyslexic myself, I fully understand the importance of breaking down complex topics into a simple digestible form that everyone will understand. I very often get students who are overwhelmed with the complexity of the course or are completely lost when it comes to exam preparation. I find it incredibly rewarding seeing students finally “getting” the subject and getting a clear understanding what they need to do to get a good mark on their exam. I need help with writing an essay but it’s not Politics, RE or Philosophy, can you still help? Essay structure is pretty much the same regardless of the subject. So whether it’s one of the subjects I teach or any other humanities subject, I have a great track record in helping students to learn how to write the perfect essays. I wrote a book about writing essays with all the tips and tricks you need to know to master this skill.

I am a Philosophy and Religious Studies graduate who studied at the University of Kent, achieving a 2:1. During my secondary school years, I achieved 9 A*- C grades, including an A* in English Literature and Religious Studies. For the past two years, I have tutored English from KS3 to KS4, teaching over a 1100 lessons to secondary school students. During my degree, I found that the skills I learnt in my English lessons were integral to the completion of degree, due to the fact that it was a largely writing based subject, meaning I was practising these skills daily during my time at university. My lessons always start of with an introduction lesson in order to create a comfortable environment for the pupil, and it allows me to asses the pupils needs. Each lesson will be tailored for the individual pupil, offering a range of different activities to suit their learning. My love for reading and writing have helped immensely whilst tutoring, as I often use different literature types to interest the pupils, specifically chosen to align with their interests.

I am an experienced tutor, with over 10 years of experience. I am passionate about good quality teaching and a strong advocate for education. I enjoy sharing my subject knowledge and helping my students achieving their goal through rigorous work and emotional investment. I have a BA, MA and MSc in History and related subjects (Philosophy, Religious Studies, Cultures) and I am currently completing my PhD in the History of Emotions. As a trained historian, I am able to see the bigger picture, putting pieces together, with the strongest eye for details. Usually, I am excellent in identifying and addressing problems, especially in regards to my students or my classroom environment. My students have described me as a ‘rigorous’ and ‘inspiring’ tutor. I am Italian and I have been educated both in Italy (BA, MSc) and in the UK (MA, PhD). I have a wide, deep, solid knowledge of Humanities, particularly History, Cultural Studies and Religious Studies. I am fluent in English, Italian (mother tongue), Spanish (University level, DELE diploma) and French. I have also studied Ancient Greek and Latin. I can teach a History lesson starting from the etymology of a word, quoting literary texts and primary sources, using several different historiographical approaches. On the contrary, I can teach Spanish and Italian not only focusing on linguistic functions or grammar, but also explaining the meaning and use of the language through the culture and history of Spain and Italy. I would say my teaching approach is Socratic and solidly interdisciplinary. Essentially, I am comfortable teaching any subject in the Humanities. Currently I am working as an Assistant Tutor at the University of Warwick, where I teach a module focused on Early Modern European History, which is my area of expertise. I have experience in planning and delivering lessons, marking assignments, monitoring students' progress, being aware of health and safety as well as pastoral issues related to my students. During the last two years I have also worked for a charity called 'The Brilliant Club', delivering academic style programmes in schools, to promote higher educations for young people with high potentiality but disadvantaged backgrounds. I regularly teach Italians to kids in my local area and, when still residing in Italy, I worked for several years as private tutor for private families, assisting kids aged 7 to 17.

I attended Cambridge as an undergraduate and am now at Oxford as a graduate student aiming for my doctorate, and have been tutoring alongside my studies all the while. I love tutoring, as it's a great experience that enables me to have a really direct impact on helping children and young adults to fulfil their potentials and develop as people. Altogether, I've been tutoring for five years, with students whose ages range from 10-19, across levels from KS2 to University admissions. I enjoy the various challenges that each of these levels holds, and have shown myself capable of adapting to fresh challenges. I've also tackled a variety of subjects in my time as a tutor, including Philosophy, History, Maths and Sciences. Across this range of subjects, my students have never failed to improve, both in ability and in confidence, as a result of our sessions, partly because I have a similarly effective technique of tutoring that inspires interest and knowledge whatever I might be tutoring. This extensive experience also spans to helping many students with Oxbridge entrance, as I have good first hand knowledge of that system and have often provided assistance with personal statements, interview technique, etc.

With 7 years teaching experience and subject leadership experience I get the best out of young people. I have an 100% pass rate of my year 6 tutoring students. I am a sensitive teacher with an understanding of how to boost children's confidence and challenge them to achieve their full potential. I have taught every year group throughout Primary School and can support students in a range of subjects from reception through to year 9. Having spent two years in Year 6 I am experienced in teaching SATs and am familiar with the new style of SATs testing. As a fully qualified and experienced teacher with DBS clearance, I ensure all students are appropriately challenged. I have worked with pupils registered as Gifted and Talented and those with SEND status. Pupils always feel respected and are treated sensitively whilst learning and having fun. I have taught across the Primary phase and have experience of all levels of attainment from the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to P scales and SATs assessments. I have worked with children on the Autistic spectrum, those diagnosed with Global Delay and those who struggle concentrating within a class setting. In whichever context I am working I ensure that students feel supported both academically, socially and emotionally. This I believe to be key to a successful and rounded education.

In my tutorials my primary aim is to teach a fun and enjoyable approach for my students to adopt towards their work. In each tutorial I will narrow down which topic area the student is required to focus on. Unfortunately, the main drawback with a number of modern textbooks is that they categorise their topic areas in groupings which can be unhelpful and confusing, particularly because there is often overlap between subjects. My tutorials aim to simplify the approach by honing in on particular areas of difficulty and providing solutions to problems my students are having. In my own revision, this approach has been extremely helpful at finding areas of weakness in my learning and understanding. In my first sessions I find it extremely useful to get to know the student better. I want my students to feel completely comfortable and honest when they are in their tutorials so that they feel like they can voice any concerns they may have and let me know where there may be blocks in their subject knowledge or comprehension of concepts. In follow-up session I will always try and test the learning from the previous tutorial before moving on. A short quiz at the start of these tutorials will allow me to both see how they are progressing but also to understand better their ability to consolidate their learning. This process of going over previous knowledge increases the speed of progress.

Hi! My name is Olawande and I'm currently studying LLB Law at the University of Bristol. I achieved a grade 9 at English Language GCSE and all A grades at A Level and I am greatly enthusiastic about all the subjects I teach and I hope you will feel the same! Having just finished my A Levels, the subject content and the understanding of the difficulty with which A Levels and GCSE brings, remains fresh in my mind. Hence why I became a tutor because I would like not only to share my knowledge with students during this difficult time in their lives, but to reassure them that they can get through it. I teach English Language GCSE and A Level. In conjunction with Philosophy and Ethics, Sociology, EPQ and LNAT guidance. All of which I am extremely comfortable and capable of explaining clearly using a simple step by step procedure. As I have found the most effective methods of teaching is through a conversational process as it's important to me for the student to feel comfortable with any questions and concerns that they have. I am a patient, empathetic and determined individual who find great fulfilment in seeing students succeed in their chosen subject.

Why study Theology?

Theology is a fantastic subject to study, whether you're religious or not. Theology delves into the bigger questions of human life and understanding, through the lens of religion. As a Theology student, you'll be studying God, religious works and different religious beliefs. It's a varied and historically fascinating subject, which will give you a broader understanding of the world and how religious thought has formed the basis of much of modern society.

What will I learn in Theology?

At its core, Theology is the study of religious belief, practice and thoughts. Theology students will learn about how different people express their religious beliefs and how they practice. You'll also consider topics like God, humanity, the world, salvation, and eschatology (the study of last times).

How can a Theology tutor help me?

A private Theology tutor will help you tackle complex religious topics, beliefs and ideas. They'll work 1-1 with you to build your confidence in discussing theological ideas and expressing your opinions. Theology is an essay-based subject, so a private tutor can help you improve your writing skills as well as your verbal communication skills.

Study Theology with a private online tutor

What is Theology? Theology refers to the in depth study of religion. Students of Theology can expect to study many different areas of religious thought, practice and traditions. They will also explore the impact these different religions have on the world and society and the way they have developed over the centuries.

What A Levels should I take to study Theology? Often students who are looking to take Theology as a degree will study A Levels such as History, Philosophy, Religious Studies or English Literature. These humanities subjects are all relevant to the degree course and will help you learn the key skills of researching and good written communication.

Private tuition is becoming increasingly popular amongst students and their parents. A private Theology tutor offers the opportunity to discuss complex religious topics and gives students an informal space to formulate academic arguments. Students with private tutors often report greater confidence in their studies and a higher level of knowledge in their chosen subjects.

Our private tutors are degree educated, DBS checked and personally interviewed. We ensure that we only represent the best tutors, and accept only the top 20% of applications to our site. Book in a Free Trial Call with one of our Theology tutors today to discover what private tutoring can do for your grades.
