So, what makes me qualified to teach maths, science and Spanish? As shown by my qualifications, I hold an A grade in both maths and physics A-Level with AQA and OCR, respectively. I studied Spanish up to AS-Level, receiving an A grade, and lived in Spain for 9 months post university working as an English teacher. Immersing myself in the language allowed me to learn it from a new, colloquial perspective, broadening my capability.
Being the son of a teacher, I've always been close to the profession, and have learnt a lot about the process of teaching and learning through discussion with and observation of my mother. I get a sense of happiness and pride from helping people do things that they couldn't do before, so have always sought out opportunities to teach.
In Spain I worked in a primary school, teaching ages 4-12 a range of subjects in the students' non-native English. It was incredibly satisfying to see how far they progressed month to month, and when I left to return to England it was sad to say goodbye; we'd built up quite the relationship.
