My background:
I hold a BA in English Language and Literature from Near East University and studied for MA Comparative Literature at King’s College London.
In the last two years of my bachelor’s degree, I focused on aestheticism and forms of imprisonment in Oscar Wilde, stream of consciousness narratives in modern literature (e.g. Virginia Woolf and Oguz Atay), and neo-noir and black comedy crime cinema from the mid-1950s to the late 1990s, whereas during the MA course, my research revolved around the intersection of myth and orality in African and Caribbean literatures, Adorno’s aesthetic theory and the promise of happiness in the post-WWII art, and melancholia and ethics in the 18th-century European literature.
I began tutoring in 2011, during my third year at university, due to the encouragement and requests I received from relatives and family friends. In 2012, shortly after graduating, I accepted an offer to teach English Literature and World History as a secondary school teacher. Since then, I taught in various settings and have engaged with students from different cultural backgrounds and of different learning abilities.

In February 2020 I volunteered to help to build a school in Uganda (Abode School Project). This experience was very inspiring and has prompted me to teach French regularly, back in London!
Today, I'm teaching French at all levels and I'm passionate about it.
At the moment, I teach online, with the possibility of doing lessons in person in the future when the circumstances allow it again.
I adapt my lessons to each person's individual needs and goals and I make sure all aspects of the language are covered - written and oral comprehension as well as written and oral expression.
