Since graduating from the Slade, I have spent 2 years working in a private school in Oxford and am currently and MA student at the Royal College of Art. I am a practicing artist, was selected as one of the Bloomberg New Contemporaries and have had work exhibited in galleries such as South London Gallery and the Grant Museum of Zoology. Working in arts education for 2 years, I have experience sharing my knowledge and expertise to help GCSE and A-level students build strong portfolios. I have experience supporting students through applications to art schools covering portfolio selection, personal statement writing etc. Using my own experience of submitting successful applications to a range of top art schools including the Slade, Goldsmiths, Central Saint Martins, and the Royal College of Art. I am particularly keen to work with students who want to apply to art school and support them through their application.

Hi! My name is Georgia :) Art has been my passion my whole life. I am firstly a professional artist. I paint and sell works with online organisations such as Wondering People and Moth Flower. My main medium is oil paint. Through every educational period, art has been my subject that I have been completely lost too. During my school years my art homework took up most of my free time in the evenings and weekends as I thoroughly loved putting my passion into it! You could say I was an art geek and to my peers a little 'try hard'. However it was and is, simply my passion. Due to this, my work was often used in class as an example of what students should do to get 'the grade'. Embarrassing for me, but helpful to my peers, I just pushed everything a little bit more. Sketchbooks, paintings, life drawing, screen printing, still life, going to the woods to draw with tree branches in the rain during class, you name it, I was a little obsessed. It earned me A*'s throughout GCSE, AS and Alevel. After school, I completed my foundation course at Falmouth University in 2014 and then continued my BA degree in Fine Art Painting and Printmaking at The Glasgow School of Art 2015 - 2018. Graduating with a 2:1, the last four years have been based around working on group exhibitions and also two of my own solo exhibitions. I now work and live in London and have several projects in the making. I have lots of experience working with kids. Firstly via perfecting at school with children boarding at the time. This involved a lot of encouragement with homework and especially getting kids to see the fun side of their art projects! I also have a lot of nannying experience which has involved similar responsibilities, as well as doing fun projects outside their homework. However, the school curriculum is one I know very well. This is something that I like to emphasise - I know what school examiners expect, as well as what universities need from students looking to study Fine Art for their degree. I love teaching kids art. It is half of why I am an artist myself. The fun and games that art allows is crucial in breaking down barriers set up by our education. Art allows children to explore and play with what they choose and observe from their own perspectives. I am very aware of the criteria that needs to be met within the school and university curriculums, however I also know how important it is that students show their own passion and revel within the subject of art to make themselves succeed. Please get in touch if you are looking for someone enthusiastic, patient, experienced and fun, to spend some time with your child showing them some subtle things they can do to improve in the subject of art. If you would like to see my work my website is 'georgiagrinter.com' .

I am an experienced and enthusiastic teacher having trained in the creative arts at London’s Central St Martins and The Beaux Arts in Paris and as a teacher at UCL’s Institute of Education. I believe that the tutelage offered to every new student is as unique as a fingerprint and I work hard with my students to help them achieve their goals. As a qualified teacher for the past 6 years and acting head of department for the past 2 years I have been helping students between KS2 and post 18 to achieve success in their GCSE, A-level, BTEC and HND qualifications in Art, Textiles and functional skills maths and English. Having done this and facilitated a large number of successful university applications to prestigious UK and international arts universities for several years in London and internationally I am looking forward to supporting other students to do the same. I have worked extensively with students of all abilities, supporting the achievement of gifted and talented students and those with learning and physical impairments to achieve their greatest success. As a class teacher I have always used one-to-one tutorials to support student success tutoring both inside and privately outside school. I feel that the Arts are uniquely positioned to be personalised and I believe that the best way of enabling student success is to engage them in a personal enjoyment of the subject by providing an bespoke programme. I look forward to offering further opportunities to engage students in the arts in the near future.

I have a knowledge of examining bodies such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, Salters & CCEA, the American system and International Baccalaureate however can work towards other examining bodies by request. I work with individuals to identify why they may have problems and make a plan to ensure that they do their best during their exams. I help adolescents choose a career path for themselves and help them choose their GCSEs, A-Levels & University degrees all the while preparing them for entry exams for high-performing schools. I work with nursery, primary, middle school, high school and University students to give them a good basis upon which to continue their education. My teaching style is to educate from the very beginning hence I am able to fully home-school individuals. During my University degree I specialised in Learning, Memory & Teaching through a B.Sc. in Neuroscience at Manchester University with specific interests in Developmental Neuroscience and how the brain evolves from younger years to later life. I am proficient in using e-learning methodologies and IT in my teaching and for my final year university research I created an e-learning computer program to help students learn difficult concepts in their studies using fundamental Neuroscience concepts on Learning. This was a huge success and I was awarded a First for my Teaching & Learning research work and have been selected for 2 Neuroscience PhDs since! I also achieved a First in my Learning & Memory Penultimate Year University Thesis and achieved the second highest grade in the year (86%). I was selected to lecture Neuroscience within the Faculty of Medicine at University of Central Lancashire. I have been selected to provide educational consulting services for agencies for students who need help achieving their goals but have no idea how to achieve them. I have also been selected to run ‘crash’ revision courses by tutoring agencies and delivered lessons within a classroom environment. I am a professional Governess and Tutor having worked for Royal Families, Forbes List and many others. I have served a dual purpose of working as a PA for the families I have worked with on a residential basis and during other employment. I can work on a long term residential basis or by a lesson-by-lesson basis. I enjoy working with families and enjoy family dynamics and working with other tutors/household members. I also have experience of organising the schedules of several tutors, multiple children, household members, children’s activities and chefs to attain the best possible study results for the children. I also arrange suitable nutrition for children so they are able to learn and retain information. In addition, I have tutored abroad and love to travel. For Science subjects I focus a great deal on recall and exam technique, linking topics with other subjects, ensuring the student most importantly remembers the information during the time constraints of an exam. For Maths I give the student tricks and shortcuts. I make the student repeat these shortcuts many times until the problem solving technique is second-nature so that the student can implement these fast. For Art subjects I ensure that the student has used a wide-range of media and backed-up their choices with written explanations. I spend time organising portfolios so that they are at a standard for entry into schools such as St. Martins / Parsons. I ensure the student creates a specialist sketch book with work that gives them more marks. I ensure special projects have enough pieces and depth for a substantial A grade. I work on GCSE, A-level & degree exhibition layout ensuring work is presented and mounted in a cohesive manner, demonstrating examples of A* grades and ensure the students' work is at the same level. I also have significant English Language training and have taught English and grammar in a professional setting. All in all, I hope to provide children and adolescents with a wholesome education to supply them with the skills to excel in their lives. My experience tutoring began working with a fifteen year old girl a 4 years ago who was struggling with social anxiety and panic disorder. The whole experience shaped how I could help influence the student in an engaging and sensitive way, and inspire them to enjoy developing their knowledge. Also, as an experienced editor, it is in my nature to help the individual try and find their best way to express themselves in both an academic and creatively. I specialise in the following: ENGLISH LITERATURE: - Poetry - Shakespeare - The novel - Fiction and Drama - Literal and inferential comprehension - Critical reading - Evaluation of a writer’s choice of vocabulary, grammatical and structures features. - Comparing and contrasting texts - Revision/exam preparation and coursework/dissertation help ENGLISH LANGUAGE: - Critical reading and comprehension - Summary and synthesis - Evaluation of a writer’s choice of vocabulary, form, grammatical and structural features. - Comparing and Contrasting texts - Producing clear and coherent text - Writing for impact and purpose (selecting, organising and emphasising facts, ideas and key points; citing evidence and quotation effectively and pertinently to support views; creating emotional impact; using language creatively, imaginatively and persuasively, including rhetorical devices. - Creative Writing (in the form of "workshopping" and experimentation fo devices and ideas.) (If necessary, I have the experience to help students who suffer from anxiety disorder and issues surrounding self-confidence. Providing a tutoring experience that is aligned with the students personal needs and motivations) Please feel free to message me if you have any queries.

My approach is enthusiastic and directed at identifying areas of improvement to achieve higher exam scores and success in interview preparation. I know how hard it can be applying to top schools and universities, and I am happy to guide you through the process and build your confidence and exam technique to achieve the grades you need to progress to your chosen school. I have a degree in Philosophy from University College London and am currently studying for a Masters at Royal College of Art. I have been working with young people for over 4 years now and have gained a well rounded portfolio of experience. I have been grateful to receive wonderful feedback from students, parents and colleagues! I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Bristol with a BSc in psychology & philosophy. I worked at a TEFL Language school where I designed a cultural programme for students and was the chief point of contact as a mentor. Additionally, I worked in the SEN department at a London secondary school supporting students with all Key Stages including A Level & IB. I have worked with students who have aspergers, autism, ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, sight-impairment and physical disability’s. A few examples of previous tutoring jobs: - Mentored a teenager over an 8 month period. - Tutored full time for the past 3 years as a subject generalist with an emphasis on the arts and humanities subjects. I have taught the core KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5 syllabuses. Covering all subjects such as art, philosophy, psychology, history, english literature & language, maths, chemistry, biology, physics. I have also done A level and IB tuition for subjects such as history, philosophy, english, art and psychology. - I have worked full time as a home school tutor teaching the core subjects, arts & humanities for ages 5, 7, 9, 11 & 14. - I homeschooled two brothers from a high profile family and prepared them for the English curriculum (from the American system). I taught english literature & language , R.E, art, politics and current affairs, textiles and took them on educational excursions. They also had to pass school entrance exams 11+, 13+, both successfully. - I homeschooled two sisters ages 7 & 9 and taught all the core subjects as well the arts and humanities. I prepared the youngest for her 7 + exams which she successfully passed. My students have gone on to excel in many subjects but especially creative writing and critical thinking. One student of mine was refusing to write at his previous school but after a year of working together he gained entrance to a top London school and is now currently the top of his class for English and is particularly confident with his creative writing. Another student of mine has gone on to win poetry competitions. My teaching style is engaging, innovative and supportive. I try to instill confidence and academic curiosity in my students, as I believe this is equally important to achieving top marks. * Fun fact about me: I paint professionally and pursue writing when I’m not tutoring. I am now keen to take on more students and would love the opportunity to work with you! Once we have been in touch and established something my response time will be very rapid. However because I am very busy it might initially take a little longer to respond so I'm sorry for that! Should be worth the wait though.
