Teaching Experience Maxim has tutored since graduating from Oxford in 2019. He has delivered over 1000 hours of tutoring, a testament to his commitment and dedication. In 2022, one of Maxim's students scored an A* in A-Level Politics, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. His students regularly gain top grades in A-levels and coursework. In 2021, both long-term Politics students got their desired grades and went to their dream universities. Maxim has experience across the Humanities, including various A-Level Politics syllabi and exam boards. The Oxbridge tutorial system (going through essays forensically and discussing them in depth) is central to Maxim's tutoring. These were, in his own words, "the best years of my life, with a learning experience I'm keen to share." Testimonials “The amount of history and your ability to create a timeline in order to help me learn the syllabus, although (it) may seem like common sense, makes the course much easier to understand thanks to you.” Andreas (A-Level Politics student) “Maxim tutored our son regularly throughout his A level Politics course. He was awarded an A* in his exam. Maxim has extensive background knowledge about the subject, exam technique and offers patience and persistence. Our son said he misses the sessions now the exams are over, which is a real endorsement. I would thoroughly recommend Maxim.” Jane (parent of former Politics student) Maxim has helped several students achieve places at top tier schools like Westminster, Highgate, South Hampstead, University College School, Wetherby, and Latimer. He spent three years at Trinity College, Oxford reading History and Politics. At Oxford, Maxim focused on British and international politics, achieving high marks in International Relations and US Politics. While a student, Maxim also appeared on University Challenge and was twice an elected member of the Oxford Union's governing body. Maxim got three A grades at A-Level, notching up 100% in UK Politics with additional success in US Politics. Maxim received offers from LSE and Warwick along with Oxford.

Business Owner, Board Member, Tutor My students vary from home schooling to state schools, to grammar and private schools, even international. I have also taught mature learners and skill building. I assist in UCAS, personal statements, CV creation and interview preparation. Collectively creating a broad expertise within the tutoring industry I set up a company training further tutors to deliver the same level of brilliance that I pride myself on. I hold an undergraduate degree in Business Economics and a masters of science from Royal Holloway in Economics. This has allowed me to turn my passion for Economics into a more enriching tutoring deliverance in Economics, Business, Finance and Accounting, and further related subjects. I am also the producer of Economics for Girls Youtube series. Furthermore, I often supervise students in their individual work by helping them create a revision schedule which I keep in touch to ensure the student stays on track, check through their work, feedback for improvement and fill gaps I see need attention. Every student requires a different approach to which I adjust, at the core of which I always lead with engagement, effectiveness and efficiency.

I was born in Regensburg, Germany and grew up in Penang, Malaysia. After completing high school (IGCSEs) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma at the International School of Penang, I worked at North London Collegiate School Jeju, South Korea for six months as a gap student and tutoring Geography to small groups of students. Following on from this, I completed my undergraduate degree in Environments, majoring in Environmental Geographies, Politics and Cultures at the University of Melbourne in Australia. During this time, I also completed a language summer programme at the University of Hong Kong and taught in rural Thailand during university holidays. After relocating from Australia to the UK, I have taught Geography at several independent colleges in London and St Albans and have also built my tutoring business. I then went on to complete a PGCE in secondary Geography from the University of Cambridge. I am bilingual, speaking English and German fluently. I enjoy exploring new places and cultures and am fascinated by languages. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and teach with a passion. I have experience teaching: - A2 and AS Geography (AQA, Edexcel, CIE, OCR, WJEC) - GCSE and IGCSE Geography (AQA, Edexcel, CIE, OCR, WJEC) including entrance exam preparation - 13+ common entrance preparation for Geography - Primary level Geography - University level Geography I have 8 years private tutoring experience, over which I have taught, helped and inspired hundreds of students across thousands of hours of lesson time. I have taught both A-levels and GCSEs as well as younger year groups, including preparation for 11+ and 13+ entrance exams. I have experience of teaching the following exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, CIE, OCR and WJEC. Importantly, I am familiar with both the old and new specifications. I have had a very large and diverse range of clients, including SEN students. I have also tutored university students in Geography and have guided them through essay and dissertation submissions and exams. I am currently a Geography teacher at an independent school in central London, teaching GCSE and A-Levels. I have also taught GCSE and A-Level Geography at several other independent colleges in London and St Albans over the last few years. I tutored AS and A2 Geography (WJEC board) at a London state high school in preparation for their exams in June 2016. Finally, I tutored Geography on an international level at North London Collegiate School, Jeju, South Korea and have taught in rural Thailand, among other work experience in various fields on an international level. Building a strong working relationship and trust between the tutor and student is very important, and being easily approachable is a vital characteristic a tutor should have. Some students may have just lost their inspiration to learn and so it is the tutor's job to motivate and inspire them. An important role for a tutor is to build a students confidence and acting as a mentor to them. Additionally, it is important the student is guided on an individual-based level and encouraged to actively engage and think, making links with information explained to them, and not spoon fed. Especially applicable to Geography, my lessons have a strong focus on exam technique, including essay structure and language; and effective exam preparation.

I attended the University of Reading and obtained a 2.1 in BSc Physical and Human Geography. I then attended the University of Cambridge where I completed my PGCE and obtained qualified teacher status. I have been teaching Geography for over five years in London. I have taught KS3, GCSE and A-Level. I am currently Head of Geography at the school I work at and have been in this role for over 3 years. I have experience with working with multiple exam boards. During my time at University I also tutored students at A level. I am passionate about tutoring because I believe that every child deserves to do well despite socio-economic factors as these should not be a barrier to achieving their goals. I am also aware that the current situation that we are in where many students have missed out months of education should not play a factor as to why they can't do as well as they hoped to. I strongly believe that tutoring can help ensure students achieve the grades they want as a one to one intervention is extremely effective whilst schools remain stretched at the minute. My tutoring style is adaptable to what the student prefers, however I am extremely enthusiastic, positive and am rigorous in ensuring plenty of exam practice and targeting individual needs by starting off with a checklist/exam to see exactly what the gaps are so that I can work intensely on these. If you are interested in ensuring you get the best possible chance in achieving the grades you deserve, please contact me!

Having received 5 Medicine offers from Russell Group Universities, and as a recent International Baccalaureate (IB) student, I have first-hand experience in the best ways to enjoy success in both the application and examination processes. Having achieved IB grades equivalent to 4A*s and therefore exceeding the required grades to be accepted from both my top choices of King's College London and University of Bristol, I was able to keep all my doors open, and therefore chose the University that best suited me - an option I aim to promote for all of my students. Lessons orientated around Personal Statements and Interview Techniques can also be provided. I have integrated both an online and a traditional learning approach, including utilising online flashcards, to ensure that all my students are as prepared as they can be. Blended lessons that are both fun and engaging have often been more successful for my students in the past, with many of those commenting on them being incredibly enjoyable, yet thoroughly rewarding at the same time. Over the past two years, I have worked as a mentor with underprivileged children , ensuring they reach their full potential in the short time they were with me. Please do not hesitate to get in contact with me if you have any questions. Thank you,

Hello, I'm Rachael, a 1st Class Honours graduate in BSc Geography with industry experience and proficiency in Spanish. I am passionate about exploring the world around me and understanding fully both the physical and human processes that constitute our very own existence. I wish to share this passion with my tutees through engaging geography lessons to help them to gain confidence in their abilities and fulfil their potential. From my own University education I understand how students can't learn in one way and how vital it is to use varied resources and techniques whilst teaching. I also understand how important it is to be creative in tutorials- I do not underestimate the importance of diagrams, particularly for detailing geographical processes or biological concepts and whilst I cannot tell you that I am an award-winning artist, I can provide some great drawings. My tutorials will be structured differently from each other as I would hate to get predictable. I often like to start a class with an activity that gets the students thinking and using their own knowledge, whether that be a slight recap of the last tutorial or a new topic. I like to start my tutorial not making it obvious what the main aim of the lesson is and then to slowly lead the tutee towards it through the warm up activity. My underlying teaching philosophy stems from the fact that I believe learning and education should be an enjoyable and fun process, where the tutor acts more as a source of guidance rather than a feeder of information. Specialises in AQA, EDEXCEL IGCSE, OCR, WJEC

Hello, I am an Economics Tutor and qualified teacher, who graduated from Oxford University where I studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics. I have taught A-Level and IB Economics, A Level Politics and A Level Business Studies since 2003. I have been the Head of Economics and Politics at 2 leading independent schools for 8 years. I have been teaching online since 2013. I have taught the whole syllabus for all 3 of my subjects and focus a lot on improving my pupils' exam technique. I have marked exam papers for the EDEXCEL board. I explain complex economic ideas in simple terms and cut through jargon to ensure that the subject is not made overly complicated. I try to make my classes interesting and relevant by relating them to real world events. This is so that my pupils develop their own interest in the subject. I have written my own course notes and can make these available to my tutees. My lessons are very interactive and my students are required to participate throughout the lessons to improve their ability to explain and test their thinking and to improve the quality of their exam answers. The focus of my lessons is to help improve my students' grades as quickly as possible by training them to follow very specific exam techniques. My focus is very much on helping my students to improve their exam grades. For Economics I have experience in teaching the EDEXCEL, OCR, Eduqas (formerly the Welsh Board) and AQA syllabuses both at AS-Level and A-Level. I also teach Politics, Law, Business Studies and Maths. I can also provide help with UCAS form personal statements and preparation for university (Oxbridge) interviews. I teach in London and online. Please do contact me if you would like my help or if you want more information. Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

My name is Chloe, and I am a qualified teacher in the UK. I have a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Leeds. I have been teaching for 6 years, and tutoring for 8 years. I am an Examiner for GCSE and A-Level Geography and Chemistry. I am qualified to teach a range of subjects, including: Biology, Chemistry and Geography at KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level. Maths, English and Physics at KS2, KS3 and GCSE. English as an additional language. I specialise in students who are lacking confidence in particular subjects, students with additional needs, students aiming to pass, and students aiming for the top grades (Grade 9 or A*). Through my experience working with students from a huge variety of backgrounds, I understand the barriers that individual students can face, and I tailor my teaching style and lessons to fit each person's needs. My lessons can be flexible depending on what students are working towards. I am able to teach an entire subject course, help students with homework, or just work through particular areas. I have access to hundreds of past questions, so students can gain a lot of exam practice. I believe in making my sessions engaging, interactive and positive. I use a lot of praise, and aim to help students feel comfortable challenging themselves and making mistakes, as this is how they will learn most effectively. I have found that students thrive in an environment where they feel supported in meeting their potential. My students consistently achieve or exceed their aims, and regularly have students receive Grade 9s and A*s at A-Level. Please get in touch if you have any questions, and I look forward to meeting you.

I am an experienced Geography Teacher and Head of Department. I have been teaching for 9 years and really enjoy making a difference, in particular on a 1-1 basis with students. I have taught the A Level Edexcel, Cambridge CIE and AQA boards and GCSE AQA, WJEC/Eduqas and Edexcel boards. As a teaching style, I am calm and collected, wanting to find out what students' strengths and weaknesses are initially and then helping them overcome some of their weaker areas (usually subject content or writing skills). I like to bring in different ways of learning, whether that is using YouTube, Twitter or even Play Doh! Learning needs to be memorable and I have always had a creative streak that comes through when I teach. With tutoring, I really like to set some goals for students to work on (i.e. essay writing) and teach them the tools to aim for their goal. It's not about telling them the answers, it more about giving them the tools to find the answers themselves.

Hi, I'm Makhdooma, a Fine Art student at Loughborough University. I achieved top grades in my GCSEs and A Levels, with A in both of my Art subjects. I recently graduated from Loughborough University with a Pass in my Art and Design Foundation Studies. Art has always been my favourite subject! I love art and feel confident with my enthusiasm & professional expertise! I have a huge passion for drawing and painting, which inspired me to teach Art classes to children, where I guided students on how to explore a range of media. I did one to one classes where I taught adults to improve and build upon their previous skills. I have many years of experience tutoring in the UK and the Middle East. I am motivated as I managed my time well by studying and setting up my Art exhibitions. I was offered to all the Art Foundation courses I applied to. I had experience doing interviews, personal statements and presenting my portfolios. I have in depth knowledge of what Art courses want. I specialise in tutoring students A Level Art and Geography. I also tutor GCSE English Language/ Literature, Design & Technology: Graphic Products, Biology, Chemistry Physics, Geography, Religious Studies, Islam, Art and many more subjects. I strive to improve my students knowledge. I will use past papers and assessment objectives to guide students in their chosen subject. I acknowledge different learning styles and ways of interpreting different ideas. I tailor my lessons to suit their interest and abilities. I will plan my lessons to the students specific requirements as every student is creative and has their unique style! I will have a look at the students work and give advice and support!

I gained my teaching qualification through Portsmouth University studying the PGCE with QTS in July 2021. I'm a qualified primary teacher where I can teach all primary subjects: English, Maths, Science, Geography and History. I have taught and supported students in a mainstream secondary school and a SEN secondary school supporting all subjects. I have an Early Childhood Studies degree where I studied at Portsmouth University. I have taught in primary and secondary schools in a wide range of all subjects l. I want to become a tutor so I can help inspire and motivate students to their potential. I am happy in choosing hours to suit my students. I have taught students individually or in groups in subject specific interventions. Planning and implementing core foundations of subjects to support the students effectively. I am a hands on teacher, where I prefer to teach through hands on lessons in a creative way to help break some barriers of learning. My first lesson with the student would be getting to know them of how they learn and what areas they are finding challenging. Finding out the areas of a subject that will need to be broken down into smaller sections to help gain understanding. After sessions, I will set homework to ensure understanding is being developed further between sessions if needed. Communication with students, parents and carers is vital in how I work to ensure consistency of how to support the student further to achieve the goal they want. I enjoy reading, colouring and exploring new areas and generally having fun. I have two cats and a dog that ensure my house is lively at all times.

How much does a Geography tutor charge?

It depends on the subject level and the amount of lessons you'd like. Tutors tend to charge more for A Level and degree level Geography lessons than they would for GCSE and other secondary school Geography lessons. If you book in a group of lessons, tutors will tend to offer a discount across the booking.

What's in the IB Geography syllabus?

The IB Geography syllabus is academically demanding and integrates both physical and human geography. IB students will gain a deep understanding of the relationship between people, the world and its life cycles. A Geography IB will also teach students to think critically about the impact of humans on the world, including on extreme weather, natural disasters and the earth's resources.

How do I revise for IB Geography?

In order to do well at IB Geography, you need to be confident on all the content. The IB assessment criteria requires students to demonstrate their knowledge of a topic, analyse geographical theories and evaluate them. Make sure you practice past IB Geography papers to understand what the type of questions will be and how to plan top mark answers.

Find an IB Geography Tutor

The International Baccalaureate in Geography sets students up with a fantastic knowledge of both human and physical Geography. Studying it can help students decide if they want to take their Geography studies further, to University and beyond.

Working with a private Geography tutor can ensure students get the most out of their qualification. Our tutors often guide students through the IB and into further education, and can offer advice on taking Geography studies further.

Book a Free Trial Call with one of our tutors and find someone that works for you and your child's busy schedules. Once you're happy with your tutor selection, you can book in blocks of lessons to save hassle, or book one lesson at a time if you prefer.
