Hi! My name is Nikitah. I am currently studying Medicine (3rd year) at Newcastle University. I have also completed a BSc degree in Biomedical Sciences from Durham University (2.1). I have 5 years of tutoring experience, and the subjects I teach are: English, Maths, Science (all 3 Sciences), 11+, degree level Biology/Biomedical Sciences/Biochemistry, UCAT/GAMSAT/BMAT. I have worked at several learning centres, and taught online- both 1:1 and group settings. My most recent achievement is helping a Physics GCSE student increase their grade from a 6 to a 9. I myself hold 6 A*'s and 8 A's at GCSE (I achieved the highest GCSE grades in my year), and also 3 A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-Level, A* in Extended Project and A in AS-Level History. I am very dedicated and committed. I will create tailor-made lesson plans for each student and also set regular homework for them to complete between sessions, which I will then mark and provide feedback. I also have extensive experience of the exam boards studied at GCSE and A-Level. Please do feel free to message me with any queries or questions and I am more than happy to help! Alternatively, I am happy to provide a free trial meeting.

Hi! I'm Collette and I've been teaching ever since the age of 16, when I began teaching music lessons to local children, during my A levels, as my school music teacher recommended me to them. I think what my pupils and students enjoy most about my lessons is how much they are treated as individuals; I tailor my teaching to suit the personality and strengths of the learner. I believe everyone has different strengths - my job is to find out what these are, and use them to build the learner's confidence and enthusiasm for whatever they are trying to achieve. Parents repeatedly report that their child's general wellbeing and confidence is hugely benefitted by my approach to their lessons. I achieved all grades up to and including Grade 8 Distinction piano then ABRSM Advanced Certificate piano, plus Grade 8 Merit classical guitar (and many Distinctions in previous grades) as a child. After school, I studied in London, graduating from King's College, London with a BMus (Hons) Music Degree (with piano lessons at Royal Academy of Music, London) and then a Primary PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education teaching qualification) from the Institute of Education, London (part of University College London). I've taught in a wide variety of capacities to children and adults, throughout my career, both face-to-face and, over the last few years, online, including: mainstream primary, nursery and pre school teaching; specialist music classroom teaching; peripatetic music lessons; home-based music lessons (piano, classical guitar, theory, beginner singing) and school tutoring; TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teaching to homestay and online students. Please contact me if you would like further information. I am extremely adaptable in my one-to-one/small group teaching, and will always guide students in an encouraging and kind manner. As a mum to an 18 year old, I also know what parents and children need from their tutor. So, whether you are 4 or 94, I will be happy to help you achieve your potential. Looking forward to meeting you soon!

I am a graduate from Imperial College London with a degree in Mechanical Engineering MEng and currently undertaking research at Imperial College London in the fields of green hydrogen and thermofluids. In my spare time I play basketball and I also participate in a number of musical societies. Instruments that I play include cello, piano, guitar, and singing. I have been tutoring for six years and find the process of improving a student’s understanding very rewarding. Over this period I have helped approximately fourty students gain entry to higher education, that are currently studying STEM subjects at top universties such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College, UCL and many more. The vast majority have obtained As and A*s at A-Level. I also tutor several degree level students, five of which have just been awarded First Class and Upper Second Class honours in their respective subjects. I tutor at all stages from primary to degree level and focus on a wholesome learning experience. I always invite my students to ask questions and attempt problems by themselves, before explaining a solution, and subsequently work through similar problems with them step by step until they have grasped the content. The main emphasis in my lessons is to develop sound conceptual understanding, followed by fluency in answering practise questions, thus targeting excellent performance in exams. Looking forward to meeting you!

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hold a BSc degree in Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience, an MRes in Research Methods in Neurosciencem and an MA in Music Theatre. Although I have now had a drastic career change, I love using my spare time to tutor anyone (any age and any level!), and my wide variety of interests means I am able to cover a range of different subjects and topics, you'd be surprised at how many subjects actually overlap! At school, I achieved 11 A*-B GCSEs, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English Language and English Literature. My A-Levels were Biology, Psychology and Maths (Statistics). I am more than happy to tutor in any of these subjects, as well as my degree subjects, to the relevant level, as well. My style is very much student-led, aiming to get to know the student, and then work out how they may best benefit from my time. My main focus is always to build confidence and security, as more often than not this is what holds individuals back from progressing further. My previous tutoring experience consists of online turoing, as well as tutoring younger family members and my peers in person. My varied life experience means I am able to connect with people from different backgrounds, and to ultimately build a solid relationship that will enable the student fulfil whatever goals they wish to.

I graduated with first class honours on BA (Mathematics) degree at University of Cambridge. After graduating, I spent almost two years working as an Analyst at a consulting firm, where most of my work revolved around coding in C#. However, as my true passion lies in Mathematics, I left my job to look for something education related. I am currently working in two tutorial centers, Conbridge and Helios Education, located in Shen Zhen and Hong Kong respectively. I mainly offer tutoring services to high school students looking to apply to G5 universities in the UK. After more than a year of tutoring, I noticed three things that are crucial to being a teacher. Firstly, I change up the materials and speed of teaching based on the students’ ability. A teacher’s job is not just to go through the syllabus with students, but also to set the right pace of teaching in order to get the points across effectively. Secondly, I put a huge emphasis on the flow and clarity when explaining concepts. There are topics that seem like common sense to some, but are not as straight forward for others. It is therefore important to communicate ideas in a clear and concise way that suits everyone. Finally, I constantly check with my students that they understand what has been taught. I do this by giving out exercises regularly, as well as making the classes more interactive. I enjoy playing board games, which I think is useful in developing teenagers’ logical thinking through having fun. I also enjoy developing games in Unity in my free time. Combined with my previous work experience as a C# Analyst, I would be able to introduce my students to the world of computer science, which is becoming an increasingly important area in modern society.

Having to work with children can be challenging. As a child seeing teachers around me, who followed their passion working with music and dealing with children that was challenging, inspired me and motivated to commit to becoming a teacher. Same as those teachers I like to set myself challenges and goals that are not only beneficial for my own development, but also for the development of my students. Starting to learn music as early as eight years old I found my strength in music and followed it till now. This journey required a lot of commitment, hard work and passion to achieve the goals I set for myself, which is very much related to the role of a teacher. After my course of becoming a choir conductor and leading a choir of sixty people I learned that to lead a group of children takes a lot of leadership, hard work and commitment which are also very related to teaching, as strong leadership skills are required when teaching a class or controlling classroom behaviour. Being a teacher requires a great deal of commitment so as to ensure all students consistently receive a high-quality learning experience and reach their goals. What is more, a teachers’ role requires hard work and passion, to make sure that students are following guidelines and achieving their best in learning and well-being. In addition, as I have excellent communication skills, I strongly believe I am more then capable of engaging with children from different backgrounds and understanding their feelings. Following the path of becoming a teacher I have undergone extensive training to understand teaching standards in schools and become a better educator. I have completed training in safeguarding children, online safeguarding, preventing children from radicalisation, classroom behaviour management, teacher cover supervisor, teaching in the United Kingdom training and I have completed NCFE CACHE level 2 Award in support work in schools qualification. Furthermore, I graduated from the University of East London, where I achieved an upper class bachelor degree in music production and performance. Through my education, I have gained a better understanding of teaching and I have realised how much of an important role it plays in our children’s lives. I have learnt that every lesson impacts on children’s and young people’s health, mental wellbeing, development and happiness. Furthermore, becoming a private piano teacher helped me to improve my skills as a teacher. In my lessons, I use the same techniques as a classroom teacher, to assess students and guide them though the learning process and help them achieve their goals. This requires good time management skills, the ability to see children’s capabilities to guide them through lessons and the capability to manage behaviour, especially in very young children. What is more, private tutoring has enabled me to develop as a teacher, especially in terms of learning to prepare for lessons and writing lesson programs. Piano Lessons is the answer to all those families who look for enjoyable and playful piano lessons for their children. Egle Razgute is qualified piano teacher that knows how to design piano classes to meet their learning pace and style, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience to everyone. I am a qualified academic and practical musician, and English tutor. I specialise in SEN. I have proven results, with my students averaging an increase of two grade boundaries and 100% achieving A*-B results. My academic background means that I enjoy teaching the theoretical side of music alongside practical music making - and ensure good grades are obtained at primary level, through to GCSE and A Level. I have experience teaching and leading in a range of settings, from one-to-one instrument lessons to group coaching to sectional conducting. This has taken place privately, in a prestigious public school and with the BBC Proms (among others). I offer rehearsal and recital accompaniment and coaching, as well as performance exams preparation sessions covering aural and sight-reading tests. I am also available for proof reading or editing of essays, UCAS applications and job applications. I am an enthusiastic, young tutor and have experience working with people of all ages and abilities. I enter at the student's level and create engaging content to encourage rapid progression. I am personable and patient with an understanding, and personal experience of, additional needs - with proven effective strategies. I believe it is my duty as an artistic citizen to contribute to the provision of arts and humanities education, and I love working with students to provide them with the tools to enable them to achieve their goals.

I specialise in jazz piano as I am a performer with many years experience. However, I can also teach piano and keyboards in blues, funk, soul, and classical styles. Some of my beginner students just like playing simple classical or popular pieces. I am able to teach performance, improvisation, ear training, practicing techniques, and group playing to students of any instrument. Many students get tired and/or bored in traditional piano lessons. Yet learning to play piano can and should be a joy that also helps the student grow in all respects: as a musician, student, and human being. With my piano lessons in Cheltenham, this is exactly what you will get: the best piano instruction, as well as personal mentoring to gain skills needed to accomplish your musical goals. This can lead to enormous fulfilment and personal joy, which will benefit you in your whole life! I am a patient and thoughtful tutor. As a person I am kind and unassuming. I am a good listener and I treat all my students with respect.

"If You're Not Having Fun, You're Doing It Wrong!" With over ten years’ experience in teaching the piano and flute, I have taught students of all ages and standards, and have a 100% pass rate in all ABRSM and Trinity examinations. I studied music at Bangor University winning both a performance scholarship and the undergraduate prize for music, and spent a year as an overseas piano major at University of Maine, USA specialising in performance. I then went on to study Accompaniment at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and continued there to study Piano Performance Teaching. Since then, I have attained a DipABRSM and ATCL in piano performance, and currently live in Wincanton, where I teach piano/flute/music theory at Bryanston School and Castle Court School in addition to my private tuition and accompaniment commitments.

Over my A-levels and gap year I worked face-to-face with many GCSE maths students (and a few younger) and lots of beginner, up to grade 5, piano students. I aim to be as enthusiastic and relatable as possible, as these subjects are the things I enjoy most and would love to see young people enjoy them as well, not just attempt to stay afloat. My absolute favorite parts of my subjects are algebra, which understandably is a struggling point for many young people, and in regards to music, that of musical theory and history, which I do try to incorporate a little of in my instrumental lessons as well. I also aim to help students with learning disabilities to overcome challenges as a result, and also to help them understand and incorporate the benefits of their neurodiversity. I myself have dyslexia, and am currently studying aspects of how dyslexics learn and memorize music. I have taught several students with dyslexia (and other learning disabilities), and hope to share strategies for coping with it, but also how it can actually help students in other aspects of education and life. My teaching style Maths - Firstly, every student is different, so in the first session I ask what the student struggles with the most, what they enjoy and how they prefer to learn (visually, practically, through theory or an example first etc). If they’re not too sure, I work through a range of questions with them, from a broad range of topics to establish their strengths, weaknesses and how they engage with problems. In subsequent lessons I prepare a topic to cover (or part of one), working through the theory by building up from important basics up to more complex questions and problem solving, working through questions together and then by themselves. I always ask at the beginning of sessions, however, if there is anything they struggled with during the week, at school or in homework, and cover that first if possible. If it is a bigger issue, meaning the basics of the topic are not yet understood, I plan a full lesson for a subsequent session. I have worked with many maths students, particularly at KS3 and GCSE level, and found this layout to be very successful (for both results and confidence in mathematical problem solving) and also encourages openness between myself and the student in terms of asking questions, discussing topics they find complex, and speaking up when they don’t understand something. In my experience, many students struggle with the principles of algebra and fractions, which have been rushed through when they were younger but form the basis of a lot of higher level maths. Once these topics are covered thoroughly, many students, I have found, are able to comprehend the rest of the course with considerably more ease. It was not too long ago that I sat these examinations myself, so I’m very familiar with what the exams include and how they expect the questions to be answered - of course every school and exam board is slightly different so I keep up to date with changes in exam board specifications. For younger students I ask to see if there is a year curriculum that has been handed out to the students, which there usually is, and if not we work through all the standard topics which are pretty much universal. Music - All lessons are different depending on the standard of the student and how they respond to different teaching methods. For beginners, I incorporate learning music notation as well as some learning by ear. As they grow with confidence with the notes and basic sight-reading and aural skills, I split the lessons into a fun warm up, where we might play through a short piece or they show me something they’ve enjoyed practicing that week, then some technical skills, such as scales, arpeggios, breath control etc, then work on pieces they’re learning, then finally a play through to finish and recap what we’ve learned that session. This lesson layout I generally keep with for more advanced students as well, although this depends on what they are working toward, be it exams, a recital, solo or group performance etc. I do not necessarily expect all my students to take ABRSM or other music exams if they do not want to, as it is not always helpful to the students in terms of what they want to be learning, and is in no way necessary. Often students want to do them, and I will have a conversation with parents and the student to establish what is best for them. I more encourage performances and finding what they love. The exams can be useful for UCAS and general experience, so I do not discourage taking them and am very familiar with the layout, having taken many and accompanied a few myself. I have taught from beginners, both children and adults, through to more advanced students performing regularly and guided them through exams, performance techniques, and some people starting to explore composition for their instrument. Some of the biggest difficulties that arise are students not being able to read music, which is imperative for exams and playing in (particularly classical and jazz) ensembles, so experience has taught me to really cover some theoretical and technical aspects every lesson, as well as the practical side. Most importantly I want to ensure my students engage with their studies in a positive way, and develop their own interests within the subject.
