My name is Ziad and I’ve been working as an academic tutor for around 7 years. I completed a BA in Philosophy & Religious Studies graduating with a first-class honours from the University of Kent, Canterbury. I then went on to do a Masters in Philosophy at King's College London where I received a distinction, focusing on Greek Philosophy, Arabic Philosophy, and Philosophy of Religion. During my MA I began working as a note-taker, supporting various students across multiple social sciences, including: Psychology, Sociology, International Relations, and Social Policy. This all further prepared me for my multi-disciplinary PhD thereafter, looking at how the perceptions of Muslims change over time within the social sciences. Working as a note-taker across multiple disciplines also prepared me for my work as an academic tutor as it has given me insight to multiple subject areas. Due to my extensive experience of both working at universities and studying, the academic process is one that I am exceptionally familiar with. I therefore feel confident in tutoring not only students within my studied subjects but also beyond. I would be most interested in supporting students with subjects that require research and essay writing. I have a very relaxed and friendly approach to tutoring. Feedback from previous students has tended to highlight my ability to: explain things in a way that makes ideas and concepts easier to understand; explain academic writing and how to do it; help students not feel overwhelmed, reducing anxiety; help with structuring work and understanding assignment questions, give tips and tools that last with the student, and most importantly, having a positive attitude and always seeing the best in people. Aside from academia, I have a few creative passions and have studied drama and theatre for a good few years. I’ve done quite a bit of acting here and there, and was long listed for both ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best New Comer’ at the British Independent Film Awards. Hence I’m happy to tutor drama students. I also write and have written for a number of media outlets including the Huffington Post blog. My writing ranges from self-help material to social commentary. But now I’m moving towards screen play writing. I also love to travel and have now been to some 35 countries. Some of these were for voluntary purposes with a charity and these were always the best. Thanks for reading and looking forward to working with you :)

I am a qualified Paediatric nurse, qualified from the University of Birmingham and studied A-level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. During my degree, I came into contact with many people and I have learnt to adapt to people's individual needs. As a tutor I will be able to help others who need that extra boost and also pick up some skills for myself. It will help me enhance my own skill set when working with people and I would learn something too! I always use my imagination and adapt to the way people learn so that's why they would come to me and I would help them in a way that would be straightforward for them to understand. I have had experience myself being the student and having a tutor help me when I struggled. It helped make my learning a lot easier and I really appreciated the great effort that was taken for them to adapt to my own learning style. As I was quite stuck in my ways when it came to revising, I was taught to explore other ways and I was shown different techniques on how to learn and these really worked well. I have had plenty of experience in Public Speaking starting from a young age and continued throughout my teenage years. I worked in teams and competed against other groups on popular topics; I competed regionally and also nationally. I have experience in speaking in Gujarati quite fluently as I have been brought up for that to be my second language in my family. At A-level I undertook Psychology and loved the subject with a passion, it was my favourite one to learn about and it came naturally to me- that being I achieved an A. As a tutor that is fairly young and understands that each year the curriculum and topics vary in subjects, I will be able to adapt to what was changed and try my best to help!

I have just graduated with a distinction in MRes Research Methods in Neuroscience from the University of Leicester. Having previously undertaken a degree in Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience, I am now beginning an MA in Music Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. My wide variety of interests mean I am able to cover a range of different subjects and topics. I would also encourage the idea that all subjects overlap in some way or another, which furthers understanding. I achieved 11 A*-B GCSEs, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English Language and English Literature. My A-Levels were Biology, Psychology and Maths (Statistics). I am more than happy to tutor in any of these subjects. My style is very much student-led, aiming to get to know the student, and then work out how they may best benefit from my lessons. The main focus would be to build confidence and security, as more often than not this is what holds individuals back from progressing further. My previous experience consists of tutoring younger family members, as well as currently tutoring some of my peers on my course in Music Theory. My varied life experience means I am able to connect with people from different backgrounds, and to ultimately build a solid relationship that will enable the student fulfil whatever goals they wish to.

My name is Vicky, I am a newly qualified primary school teacher, looking to share my love of learning with enthusiastic students. My A-Levels are in Psychology (B), English Literature (B) and Sociology (C). I have completed my Psychology BSc at Keele university, obtaining a first class honours award. I went on to complete an MSc in Clinical Neurodevelopmental Sciences, an autism-focussed degree at Kings College London, in which I achieved a Merit. Finally, I have completed my PGCE this year, and my qualified teacher status certificate is due to come through in August. I want to become a tutor to share my love of Psychology and English Literature. I feel both subjects are incredibly diverse, there are so many areas of interest to explore. Additionally to this, I completely relate to those who may find some areas of these subjects more challenging. A particularly common such area within Psychology is research methods. I myself struggled with this topic throughout A-Level and at the beginning of my undergraduate degree, and was encouraged by my university tutors that several students struggle with this area; one told me "you're not the first, and you certainly won't be the last". I worked hard on this topic and went on to achieve several first-class grades in research method exams, and distinctions in both my BSc and MSc dissertations. I hope prospective students who may relate find this encouraging. In terms of my tutoring style, I very much believe in a student-led approach to teaching. Prior to commencement of tutoring, we will agree on a "subject roadmap", per se, of what we aim to achieve in the sessions. I will then conduct sessions according to the areas of development established by the student, and keep detailed progress records to ensure we are on track. If there is a particularly difficult area, we will persevere and adapt to various different methods until the student feels comfortable that they understand. There is always a way. As a primary teacher, I am used to keeping classes of young children engaged for long periods of time. Therefore, I feel I can make sessions fun and exciting, and adapt my style to the individual needs of the student. Outside of my professional life, my interests include classic literature, history and music (violin, guitar, piano, and singing). I am also interested in SEND inclusion; I have worked in an inclusion school as a 1:1 support assistant and have grown up alongside a cousin with severe autism. I am eager to adapt my lessons to include all SEND students. I believe every child has a right to be encouraged to achieve their full potential. Qualified Primary School Teacher Experience with AQA, OCR and EdExcel

Do you think Science is abstract, tedious, and hard to understand? Do you find yourself wondering if it was possible to understand all the concepts in Biology, Chemistry, Medicine? Hi! I have a Diploma in each of the infectious diseases like (Tuberculosis, COVID-19, Poliomyelitis) from the World Health Organisation (WHO), and also The Brain and Space from Duke University. This has prompted me to gain more insights into the pandemic, its spread, and how it can be prevented and controlled. I have been a tutor since 2014 with students of different categories(beginner, advanced, average, college, and researchers in the field of Medicine). I teach Medical Science related courses like Biology (advanced and high school), Biochemistry (including chemistry), Pharmacology, Physiology(including Pathomorphology), Oncology, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, and Anatomy. My certification and experience in Medical outreach to educate the inhabitants of rural areas (concerning Sickle Cell Anemia, HIV & AIDS, Cervical Cancer ) have widened the scope of students taught by me. I am fluent in English. I use everyday concepts to aid the students in understanding the basics in every course and make learning fun and exciting. Learning aids like pictures, diagrams, notes, mnemonics, and even videos are used to make learning simple, easy to memorize, and understand. Assistance will be given to students with external exams like SAT, GCSE, IB Exams who aim to prepare vigorously to score excellently. Science is no longer abstract but REAL!!! Nothing, no task, and no one is IMPOSSIBLE!

I am an Italian student living in London. I frequented my high school in Italy, where I obtained top grades. I am currently on my 2nd year of Uni at UCL, studying psychology. In the past years I have frequently held tutoring lessons for students of my school, and they all got excellent grades. My teaching style is extremely precise and goes in depth, nothing is going to be left behind. Studying psychology, then, I am very passionate in creating a positive and engaging environment with the student. I am extremely careful in understanding what are the needs of the students and which teaching style is the most appropriate, tailoring the tutoring sessions individually, in order to get the best possible outcomes.

I am originally from San Francisco, California where I completed my International Baccalaureate diploma before moving to London for my higher education. I recently graduated with first class honours from King's College London with a BSc in Psychology. Presently, I am continuing my studies at University College London, in my first year of a two year MSc in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice. My goals with my training in psychology are to help children, young people, and families, clinically and therapeutically. Although this is a different focus than tutoring, the disposition and skills that make me passionate and successful in this domain also make me a patient, empathetic, and hard working tutor. My experience with tutoring and coaching originated with peer mentoring schemes in school and continued during my undergraduate degree, where I gained experience tutoring in GCSE and A-level subjects. I am choosing to continue to focus my tutoring in psychology and biology given my educational and professional background from my degrees and related work experiences in these subjects. I will be able to help with understanding the content in an accessible way as well as the styles of writing and presenting knowledge that are essential to these scientific subjects. Additionally, with a love of writing and developing original an point of view, alongside having completed by International Baccalaureate diploma with an A in the Extended Essay, I would be confident in guiding a student through the daunting task of completing their EE. I believe in a personalised and collaborative approach to tutoring, while I am happy to prepare materials and lessons for sessions, I strive to create a culture where the student can freely ask questions and have autonomy to guide the focus of work to specific areas within the subject they feel they would benefit the most from.

I have been studying psychology for the past six years. I received a first class undergraduate degree in Neuropsychology from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), as well as the Deans Award for receiving the highest grade on my course. I have been involved in psychological research since my first year of University in 2013, when I became a voluntary research assistant for several research projects in the psychology department. For my first, second and third year of university, I was chosen from a range of candidates to be a paid summer intern as part of the Undergraduate Internship Scheme. I presented part of this work at "Posters in Parliament" in 2017, an undergraduate research exhibition in the Houses of Parliament. Following my undergraduate degree, I chose to complete a Masters by Research examining interoception (our perception of internal states within our body, such as hunger or thirst) and how this relates to emotional experience. After completing this research, I was awarded a 1+3 PhD Studentship from the South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS), and have just completed a Masters of Clinical Psychology as part of this. In September 2019, I started the first year of my PhD and I am hoping to do some additional teaching alongside this. I have been marking and providing feedback on university level psychology assignments for the past 3 years and find it very rewarding. I have experience in a range of psychological fields, including all topics covered during A-level psychology. My specific expertise include auditory distraction (and the effect this has on cognition), memory, interoception, neuroimaging techniques, eating disorders, and emotion. I am well qualified to provide assistance in exam preparation, essay and dissertation writing, and help designing psychological research.

I'm a first class graduate in psychology, with extensive stats training. I'm currently studying a master's degree on research methods in psychology, as I love conducting and writing up research. I graduated with excellent marks for my dissertation and three stats modules, all achieving over 75%. I'm also currently an associate lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London teaching second year research methods, and supervising multiple group research projects. This module also included teaching how to write a critical analysis essay, key points to look for, and how to go about writing and conducting your own research. Alongside this I also tutor privately (as seen here!) undergraduate and postgraduate students in psychology and research methods. One-to-one tutoring is very student focused. There are no distinct lesson plans, it depends entirely upon what you need assistance with. The only plan is that we establish what help is needed, and then work from there, through theory, to worked examples, and then material for you to go over. This can also include analysing any pieces of coursework that may have already received feedback, and establishing what can be done to improve your marks. Other than that, I'm a guy that likes to play video games and appreciates a good meme. I like to make stats (that most people find boring) approachable and fun, so they're easier to engage in, so expect an icebreaker or joke to settle you in.

Having worked with Ansul last year, I can say he fully understands the challenges students face with various subjects and he has a large breadth of knowledge.
