I have over 15 years experience teaching within schools. I began as a private violin tutor at the age of 16, and worked within schools running workshops in Drama whilst at university. My experience in Drama makes me a very effective communicator, especially with younger children wanting an exciting lesson to keep them focussed and active. I have a valid DBS and many references.
I like to engage children through fun and vibrant lessons. I tailor my lessons according to my pupils and customise games to make lessons more exciting. I like children to enjoy my lessons (almost as if the learning is disguised!) and use visual guides and physical props to help children access the learning. At first I use practise papers as diagnostics and then delve into particular topics that are in need of improvement. My lessons improve pupils' self confidence and self esteem. I also have many years experience in working with SEN pupils- I am very familiar with different systems and approaches to help aid every child in their needs.
Over the past year alone, my pupils have made huge improvements. My GCSE students have scored level 9s, my 11+ students are all in highly academic skills with scholarship offers, and my younger pupils are thriving and are always at the top of their class. A previous pupil (3 years old) who had little to no English, is now one of the chattiest pupils at Garden House School in Sloane Square. I have experience and pupils in St Paul's boys and girls, Westminster, Kingston Grammar, Tiffin, Alleyn's, Dulwich, Whitgift to name but a few.

Hi, I am a fourth-year medical student at the University College London and I recently completed an intercalated BSc in Medical Sciences with Medical Anthropology.

In my second and third years of university, I worked as a Target Medicine mentor, mentoring A Level students from disadvantaged backgrounds on their medical school applications. I have experience teaching English as a foreign language to a range of age groups. A few years ago, I spent several months in Hong Kong tutoring English to primary school children on a one-to-one or group basis. Later, I taught English to international students through a Church programme and to elderly people at a Chinese elderly centre in Manchester.

Music is a passion of mine; I attended the junior department of the Royal Northern College of Music during high school and achieved Grade 8 in both the piano and the violin at the age of 14. I am a very enthusiastic teacher and enjoy sharing my interest with others.
