The same way, teachers should only teach what they are passionate about. I could teach you Maths, but we would both hate the experience :)
So, I will teach you English. Besides, with living half my life outside my own country, how can I not be passionate about foreign languages?
5. What if you want to give up?
Learning a foreign language takes a lot of time and practice. The most important is to find the right support and not give up.
English is not my native tongue, so I can better understand the problems you might face and help you accordingly.

I am a French native speaker, with an MA in English studies, and fully qualified with TOEFL and TEFL (Level 5, 168hrs) certifications.
I have provided excellent customer service for renowned international companies, such as Apple and The Eiffel Tower.
More importantly, I’ve spent the last nine years teaching English and French in Chinese universities and private schools.
My students really enjoyed my class and I was often asked to take part in extra-curricular activities: I judged debates in English,
hosted movie nights, and I even had to stand - in front of a thousand people! - to read a speech.
I specialize in oral communication for teenagers and adults who understand basic English, but who are not satisfied with their speaking ability (lack of confidence, people can’t understand you properly…). I also have experience in working with children (primary schools and private tutoring) and I will adapt my content according to your needs as best as I can.

I am a 28-year-old native French speaker from the South of France. I have been living in London for over 4 years and have several years of experience teaching French to a variety of people, from young children to adults.
After obtaining my high school diploma I became an au pair in the US and taught French to the children in my care (8, 12, and 15 years old). Seeing them enjoy the acquisition of new skills gave me great satisfaction!
When I returned to France I studied Tourism and Marketing at University. After completing my Bachelor's degree, I decided to move to London (2017) and put my knowledge into practice as a tour guide, alongside tutoring.
In February 2020 I volunteered to help to build a school in Uganda (Abode School Project). One of the missions was to share our teaching technique with primary school teachers as well as teaching them French and English. It was such a privilege to share my language and culture, whilst learning about Ugandan customs and traditions. This experience was very inspiring and has prompted me to teach French regularly, back in London!
Today, I'm teaching French at all levels and I'm passionate about it.
At the moment, I teach online, with the possibility of doing lessons in person in the future when the circumstances allow it again.
I adapt my lessons to each person's individual needs and goals and I make sure all aspects of the language are covered - written and oral comprehension as well as written and oral expression.
My approach is also to make the lessons as fun and enjoyable as possible as well as helping students to gain confidence. I encourage them to try and find answers themselves, even if they are not fully sure. It is important not to be too self-conscious about making mistakes... everyone does!
Outside of tutoring, I love to spend time traveling, meeting new people, exploring new cultures. I am also a ballet dancer and I do a lot of yoga!
