I am a well-experienced, qualified mathematician earning a bachelor's degree in mathematics at one of England's leading institutions for the subject, the University of Portsmouth. Mathematics is a subject that has fascinated me since I witnessed its applications in real life and I would like to share this experience with others. Since I have previously tutored a range of children, starting from primary school to GCSE standard at secondary school, I have the ability to identify and understand the specific academic needs of my students, tailoring my teaching approach to them. I will be working to best suit your needs so that your money and most importantly your time is not wasted progressing you to a better and smarter learning experience.

Currently a graduate medical student after working as a respiratory physiologist for several years in respiratory medicine. I have a masters degree in Human and Applied Physiology from King’s College London and possess a first-class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science. Between my two degrees I travelled to different parts of world to places such as the USA and Cameroon. This gave me the opportunity to learn about different cultures and a stronger ability to overcome challenges when they presented themselves. I am looking for tutoring opportunities online and in the Warwickshire area. While doing my undergraduate and masters, I have developed an in-depth knowledge and understanding of several scientific areas, with a focus on physiology. I believe that I can impart my enthusiasm for education and science on younger students and help them succeed academically. My mission is to make the goals that students are striving for a reality and see the success they have earnt take them to their chapter. I am very motivated, driven individual and I will work to ensure each session is beneficial bringing the goals set out closer to fruition.

Hello there, So you may be wondering about my own experience in the field of PE. Well.... I am offering my time to become an online tutor on tutor house as I believe that I have found a outlet which will allow me to continue delivering my passion. I have learned personally from my own diverse background and upbringing that in order to help a pupil be successful in any situation they must have positive and motivated people who are willing to support and foster them, no matter which direction they may choose. This support not only gives pupils belief in themselves but also the motivation to succeed. I actively implement the British values in my work by setting high academic and personal aspirations for my pupils in line with the national curriculum, in an effort to encourage the practise of excellence and have respect for one another. Throughout my life I have gathered a range of specific teaching qualifications and experience which has matured me into a strong candidate suitable for this position, such as the following: BSc (Hons) 2:1 in Physical Education and Youth Sport with Professional Practice from Brunel University PGCE in Teacher Training for Physical Education QTS D*D*D* BTEC Level Passed Both English and Maths GCSE I have worked in two Ofsted outstanding schools in which I developed my ability to teach lessons which are highly inclusive and fun to participate in. I have had a strong dedication to volunteering my whole life, being in a range of different positions such as; a scout leader for 7 years, an Officer Cadet at Sandhurst, disability swimming coach and a football coach in a junior school. I have demonstrated a strong attachment to sports and physical activities throughout my life by being an avid cyclist, kayaker and basketballer. I believe that I have the right credentials and also the characteristics of a passionate, informative and reflective practitioner. Sport and outdoor physical activities such as the ones I undertook during my time in university have taught me valuable life lessons which are reflected during my lessons, whether that is demonstrating decorum through victory or resilience through adversity. I currently teach and deliver a wide range of different sports and physical activities for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (I also have experience of teaching at KS2 at Lady Bankes Junior School). I have my own GCSE OCR PE theory class, in which we have recently covered the principles of training and the components of fitness. I actively implement new pedagogical techniques such as Scaffolding, AFL and Bloom’s Taxonomy. I strongly believe all children, no matter what their ability or background, can engage in physical education; it’s just a case of giving the time, attention, motivation and finding a sport or activity they find comfortable engaging in. Physical Education is such an essential aspect of any school, as part of my role as a PE teacher I know I will have to fight many barriers about the importance of this subject. This is where my enthusiasm in the subject comes from. Proving our worth and ensuring that young people are properly educated in maintaining healthy active lifestyles. The impact that sport and indeed any physical activity can have on a student’s physical, mental and social health form the backbone of my own teaching methods. I strive to ensure that students have fun, enjoy being active and want to carry on once we stop teaching them. I hope I can be of assistance to either you or your children and look forward to hearing from you soon!

I have been teaching for a number of years now and I have been privileged to work in various schools. This has helped me to be able to understand varieties of children and most importantly to be able to modify the children's learning in order to meet their needs. A key skill which I possess is my interpersonal skill and this allows me to communicate with anyone regardless of whether I know them before. This also ensures people feel safe and are in the correct environment to learn. Also, communication is another skill I uphold strongly. As a teacher communication is key as you need to communicate with various people such as parents or even the student you are teaching. By effective communication, the student will know what you are trying to explain but also they will have a clear knowledge on how to further improve.

I am a qualified teacher and have now been teaching PE at KS3, GCSE and A-Level in a school in Croydon for 4 years. After gaining 10 GCSEs (A*-B) and 3 A Levels in Maths (A), Biology (B) and PE (A*), I decided to follow my love of sport. I studied Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University, gaining a 2:1 from a highly reputable sports university. I then went on to follow my dream of teaching and gained a PGCE in Physical Education with qualified teachers status from the same university. I have taught both the AQA and OCR exam boards for GCSE and A-Level and I personally took the Edexcel courses. I specialise in Paper 1 on the human body but can tutor on both papers for GCSE. For A-Level, I have taught across Physiology and Sport and Society but have vast knowledge on Psychology from my degree. I teach across all year groups and ability levels, providing challenge and support wherever necessary. I am passionate about all things sport and physical education and wish to project that love of the subject on to all the students that study it. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and want to continue to support more students through tutoring.

I am an energetic, enthusiastic and hardworking Deputy Head with eighteen years of teaching experience in England and Australia. I have a track record of success at teaching Primary Science, GCSE and A Level Physical Education. I am ambitious for all my students and strive to help them reach their true academic potential. I have recently completed my Masters in Education and Leadership at The University of Hull. I am a qualified Secondary Physical Education teacher gaining my PGCE from The University of Durham. I studied for my Master of Philosophy in Sport and Exercise Science and also my Bachelor of Science with honours degree at The Manchester Metropolitan University. Before this, I did an HND Science (Sports Studies) course at Yorkshire Coast College. I have a wide range of teaching experience in both the state and independent sectors. I have taught Science at Key Stage 2, along with Physical Education at GCSE and A Level. I have been a Head of Science at Barnard Castle School and Moorlands School, an Assistant Subject Leader for PE and Games at Hull Collegiate School and Malton School, and a Director of Sport at Terrington Hall School. My other experiences have included lecturing and supervising undergraduate students on the Sport, Coaching and Exercise Science degree course at The Manchester Metropolitan University. I have also had a number of research papers published and presented the research at various conferences. My educational philosophy is one of dedication to ensuring that all children fulfil their potential. I believe in the ability to nurture children, to help them discover talents and interests that prepare them for the next stage of their education and life in general. I feel that my teaching experience would be a valuable asset and that I have the drive to work and succeed as your child's tutor. I believe that we all learn better when we are happy and having fun. My lessons are fun and engaging in order to keep your child motivated and focussed during our time together. My aim is to get to know your child quickly, and in doing so I can adapt my teaching style depending on your child's preferred learning style. Family life is important to me and I love spending time with my wife and two daughters. Sport is a major part of my life, both as a spectator and a player. I participate in many sports, but have a real passion for Cricket and Rugby both of which I have played to a high standard. As a family, we spend a lot of time outdoors, basically enjoying what the great British countryside has to offer. I go swimming and to the gym regularly to keep fit. I am a keen runner and compete competitively. Charity work is important to me as I believe it is good to 'give something back' and I have raised money for various charities. Science is another passion of mine and it gives me great delight in passing on my love of the subject to children. Cooking is something that I enjoy, and although not the best cook in the world, I get a great deal of satisfaction in seeing and eating the end product. I have just started to play the guitar and have set myself a challenge to see if I can gain my grade 1.

Following my completion of sixth form, I pursued an opportunity to work as a sports intern for a full academic year at Tanglin Trust School, Singapore. This role was my first experience of teaching as well as one to one tutoring. The role allowed me to discover the passion I have for helping others succeed in their studies, which is something I would like to continue doing now that I have relocated to the UK. I want to take the techniques I personally used, as well as the ones I have gathered from my colleagues and share them with students who are currently undertaking higher education.

I have 7 years of teaching experience of students aged 7-18. I have taught in primary schools, grammar schools and I am currently employed as a Science and PE teacher at a secondary school in Brixton where I have been for the past 5 years. In my current role I regularly lead individual subject mastery sessions with students at school in KS3 & 4, and have tutored former A-level students that I taught to support them with their degree studies. I believe my greatest strengths are to quickly build positive relationships with young people and to take abstract concepts and simplify them in memorable ways. Whilst I am patient and empathetic in my approach to student learning, my practice is rooted in rigorous expectations and the belief that all can achieve.

What do you mean by physical education?

Physical Education (PE) refers to learning about elements of health and fitness. PE often overlaps with other subjects like Biology, nutrition, sports psychology, exercise and more. This subject is both theoretical and practical, combining the elements of learning is therefore much more useful for students than classroom-based teaching.

Why physical education is important

We are currently facing an existential crisis and health epidemic. With the rise in technology and new inventions for transport, we are leading more sedentary lives. This has an affect on many health issues like obesity, osteoporosis and heart disease. Physical Education teaches us how to maintain health and fitness so to combat these health issues, particularly amongst adolescents and young persons.

Studying for a career in Sports?

Sports covers a wide range of professions, like becoming a PE teacher, sports psychologist, fitness instructor and much more. It is certainly a popular and widely successful career as it offers a lot of versatility depending on your interests.

If you're passionate about sports, physical fitness and health, then there are a range of jobs for you. Studying PE combines both the theoretical and practical elements making it one of the most fun subjects to learn. To be the best, you have to put in the effort both inside and outside the classroom, including extra-curricular activities.

Here at Tutor House we understand how competitive it is to get sports scholarships and pass the entry requirements for universities — that's why we're here to help.
