I usually have a group of 5 or 6 students. In science and maths, we talk through topics that we can go over for the next few weeks, that the students find difficult. I am able to identify their strengths and weaknesses, then will teach the topic that students are most struggling on and will go over any questions. I provide a summary sheet of the topic for them in advance and ask them to explain some concepts to me to see their level of understanding. We will then proceed by doing questions from online resources that I have found over the years, that have worked for me as well as my previous students. I will then take the work in to be marked and set a different sheet of homework for them so I can mark it next week.

I like to teach lecture style for the first few lessons with interactive sections. I firmly believe tutoring is less about transferring knowledge and more about improving skills that enable success. The mark schemes is very specific for GCSE and Alevel exams and the students often dont know how to answet the question properly despite having the knowledge .So it is vital that they practise those questions after they gained the knowledge with an experienced teacher to secure a high grade in exams.
