I am currently a business lecture at UCB , however, I have experience of teaching primary, secondary, 11 plus and assignment support at HE level. Teaching has always been a passion and I am extremely dedicated to my job role. I enjoy all types of teaching and have taught all ages and in all types of environments. Alongside teaching English, maths, and science, etc, I also like to focus on the child’s holistic development which I believe is pivotal. I also do private tutoring online on one to one basis and group sessions. I like to teach my children through joyful interaction which assists them in reaching their full potential and achieving above and beyond their level of expectations. I have seen dramatic improvements from children who started off with very little or no English-speaking skills at all in becoming the highest achievers, furthermore, receiving recognition and awards in their educational institutions. I am very soft-hearted towards the children I teach, nevertheless, this does not mean that they can get away with not completing their studies. I am extremely flexible and can easily adapt quickly to new situations. You will find me highly empathic towards the children and very understanding, regardless of their age. All people big or small should be treated with the utmost respect. I do my best to dedicate my spare time to supporting charity events, group talks, and teaching children.

I am an experienced Maths and English tutor for GCSE students and below. I have previously studied at a grammar school and achieved a degree in Maths and Computer Science from a well known red-brick university. I currently work as an IT Manager and have done so for the last 16 years. Alongside this I have over 10 years tutoring experience in Maths and Computer Science and have seen significant improvements in several students during this time. Making the difference is my main objective as well as making lessons fun. I have worked with students both on a one to one basis and in groups. This has also included online tuition via Skype/Zoom alongside more traditional face to face tuition. I believe that my excellent communication skills and solid academic background enable me to be an effective tutor within my subject fields.

Dear Students and Parents, I have a BSc(Hons) degree in Biomedical Sciences and a PGCE (Science & Maths). In addition to my qualifications, I have over 16 years of teaching (as a Qualified Teacher) and tutoring experience of Key Stage 2, 3, 4 and 5 (`A` Levels) Sciences (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) and Maths (up to GCSE Level). I have taught and tutored from some of the most able to those requiring lots of support with their subjects, which has included teaching in the UK and overseas. You will find that my teaching is very dynamic and relevant in preparing your child for their exams and I try my best to implement strategies that are relevant for the students` learning needs in order to enjoy their subject and to help them to do well in their exams. I am familiar and have experience of teaching the main school Syllabus including AQA, Edexcel, WJEC and OCR, whence this would help to make my teaching relevant to the skills and level of each student as well as their effective exam preparation. For me, effective tutoring is not only about the tutor knowing their subject well but to identify the requirements for each student (as they are all unique) and being able to explain and deliver effective lessons in order that they will understand the concepts and knowledge to a high standard. I believe that this would enable me to help them to develop their self-confidence and deliver the teaching well in order to meet their specific needs. All my students have enjoyed and made excellent progress as a result of my lessons over the past few years and achieved academic success. My online teaching will include assessment, power-points, worksheets, exam practice and homework through the use of Zoom or Skype. I can also offer GROUP SESSIONS (between 3-6 students) at a reduced rate but this will be subject to the number of students. If you would like to get in touch with me then please let me know when would be a good time to talk or arrange a session. Please let me know if you require any further information. Best regards and stay safe.

Hi! I'm David, a student at the University of Edinburgh. I love reading, cooking, swimming, and playing the piano. I have two years of experience in tutoring, as I spearheaded a volunteering program during my last two years of high school to tutor kids in a wide array of subjects. Therefore, I am trained to tutor in most high school subjects, although I am best at tutoring science subjects (biology, chemistry, and mathematics.) I am always open to new ideas and different methods of teaching in order to provide the best experience for my tutees. I look forward to helping as much as possible, so contact me in order to set up a free trial session, so that we can establish learning goals and design a strategy to achieve them.

Hello! My name is Mifrah and I studied BSc Biomedical Science at the University of Sussex (4th best for my course in 2020) and starting Masters in January 2024. My background is science, particularly Biology and Chemistry but I also enjoy studying English. During my GCSEs, I successfully obtained a 6 (B) in Biology and English Language and 8 (A*) in Chemistry and English Literature. My passion for science is what lead me to take both for A levels where I received a B in both. I am confident in tutoring KS3, A-level and GCSE Biology, Chemistry and English (both Language and Literature) and have experience in teaching KS2 general science and maths. My lessons are tailored to individual needs. I have worked with children who have learning difficulties such as dyslexia and autism so I am more than happy to adapt lessons to fit the pupil's requirements. I try to conduct my lessons in fun and engaging ways because I know how horrible it feels when lessons/lectures are not fun. I use a variety of learning resources such as word-searches, puzzles, quizzes alongside the basic topic questions and exam papers. The exam boards I have experience working with (and doing the exams myself) are WJEC, OCR, AQA and Edexcel so I have a wide variety of knowledge about each exam board and their expectations.

An extremely hard-working and friendly individual who enjoys communicating and socialising with others from different cultures and background. A full-time student with a broad experience of private tutoring. Achievements include Mayor Award for Science (1st Place) and three nominations for the Jack Patchy Award which reflected my commitment towards excellence. I have previously taught A-Level Biology and Chemistry, KS2 (year 5) GCSE (Year 11) Maths and Science. My teaching method and plan is such that is integrated and suited for students of all abilities. This ensures that students eventually achieve the best of their potential and even beyond. My lesson structure is as follows: 1. A PowerPoint which starts with the learning objective so that student can understand the topic being covered. 2. Some prior knowledge questions to get them thinking. This will enable me to comprehend the depth of teaching. 3. The content will be sectioned into many slides which enable the student to understand the topic bit-by-bit. Also, I might intervein and ask questions to check if the student understands the concept. 4. There will be some activities so that the student could demonstrate their knowledge. 5. At the end of the lesson, Exam Styles question will be displayed and feedback will be provided using the mark scheme. I believe every student has a different learning technique. Some are visual learners with others are listening and writing learners. Learning resources provided by me will be dependent on the student's learning technique rather than forced learning. It tends to work because students are more likely to understand the concept easily even when it’s complex. Attempting exam questions is the best learning technique but ONLY after the student understands the topic completely. Student's progress will also be tracked and there will be an End of Topic Test. A topic list will be provided so the student's progress could be tracked. This will allow the student to target certain topics and enables efficient revision and also helps to find any gaps in your knowledge.

Hi! My name is Maria, originally from Argentina where I pursued my BSc and MSc degrees in Biology at University of Buenos Aires (UBA). I later moved to London after being awarded a Grand Challenges studentship to complete my PhD studies in Biomedicine/Neuroscience at University College of London (UCL). I have been a tutor and teacher for over 15 years, specialising in A-level Biology and Chemistry, I have worked for Tutor House for over ten years, running a number of courses for them. I'll be happy to help students in the following subjects: - Maths and Physics Key Stage (KS 2, 3 & 4) and GCSE - Biology, Chemistry and Life Science; Key Stage (KS 2, 3 & 4), GCSE, A-Level & Degree. - Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, Genetics, and related subjects: Degree levels. I have vast experience in private one to one lessons, group lessons and online sessions. I’ve been teaching for more than 14 years in universities and schools and as a private tutor, both in Argentina and UK. I always try to build a positive environment where the student can feel motivated to study and eager to learn. As a private tutor, I tend to go through the syllabus detecting areas of struggle and topics that need a better foundation, and generating a space where tutees can express all their doubts and questions. My aim is to provide the student with tools to build stronger practice and study techniques which can later be used in other courses and throughout their careers.

Where can I find a Science Tutor in London?

Right here! Tutor House matches you with a local science teacher in London or online — so you can study from anywhere in the UK with top science teachers. Through Tutor House, you can get a professional tutor capable of teaching at any level, from GCSE science, A level science, to degree and university level courses.

How much does a science tutor in London cost?

Our science tutors cost from £20/hr up to £90/hr depending on your goals, level and the tutor's experience. We have some of the best teachers in the UK. Our tutors are affiliated with excellent institutions such as King's College London, Imperial College London, and University College London. With experience in teaching methods as both graduate students and science teachers, we're sure to get you the best science tutor in London for your money's worth!

How many science levels are taught?

We teach science for all levels and ages, from primary to degree level. We also break down the sciences for Biology, Physics and Chemistry at each level. This includes: GCSE, A-Level and Pre-U, Degree and more. Just choose your level and subject, then we'll match you with a science tutor of your choice.

Learning science in London vs online — what's best?

At Tutor House, we can match you with a local science tutor in London or online. There's little evidence to say that one service is better than the other. All we know is, our tutees are happy! With the help of a private tutor, they've boosted their grades by a whopping 41% — going from a C to an A grade in just a few lessons.

So if you're wondering whether starting science lessons in London or online, it comes down to personal preference! To help you narrow down the choice, we'll summarise both routes' pros and cons.

Hiring a science tutor in London may be more engaging for you. Whilst still local, you can travel to your science lessons within a 5-minute walk. All our tutors are DBS checked and are personally interviewed by us, ensuring you're safe and in the right hands. However, this might not work for your busy schedule, and in-person science tuition can be less flexible.

Alternatively, consider starting online science lessons. There are a lot of benefits here: money, time and flexibility. Whilst we can still match you with a local science tutor in London, you could study from the comfort of your own home — in your pyjamas if you fancy! You'll also save a lot of money and time travelling to your tutor's residence. Not only that, online lessons work entirely around your schedule. So if you have back-to-back appointments, you'll be able to get there in the click of a button.

Furthermore, with online science lessons you'll have access to our eWhiteboard. This allows you to track and measure your achievements and grades across the lessons. This level of positive feedback will show you how valuable hiring a science tutor in London will be for you — and your confidence!

Either way, both choices are affordable. Our science teachers will personalise their lessons to suit your needs. You might think the more convenient choice means you need to fork out more money. Our sciences tutors charge from £20/hr depending on your goals and level of experience.

We save you the time and hassle it takes to hire a private tutor by reducing it to a 2-minute process.  So look for a science tutor in London, select your level, then sit back and relax — and we'll do the rest! So what are you waiting for? Call today and start learning with an experienced tutor with Tutor House!
