My name is Ana and I am a native Spanish qualified teacher from Madrid, currently living between Spain and UK. After a professional career in marketing and communication in major European multinational companies, I decided to pursue a career in Spanish language teaching. Since completing my qualification in teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE at Instituto Cervantes) I have gained extensive experience in teaching students from a variety of backgrounds and ages, including GCSE and A-Level preparation and adult classes. I design the lessons to be engaging, flexible and contextually relevant for the student. I passionately believe that language can inspire and motivate people, making them grow personally and professionally. ¡Hasta pronto!

I am a Linguistics and Spanish graduate from Newcastle University who is passionate about learning and teaching new languages. My love for languages first began whilst at school, where I studied French, German and Spanish. During this time, I had a preference for the more logical aspects of language learning, such as grammar and translation. This lead me to study Linguistics at university, where I analysed language in a scientific way, helping me to understand how languages are learned. Having sat A-level and GCSE exams for three languages in 2018, I know both the A-level and GCSE syllabi well. At A-level, I achieved an A* in Spanish, an A in French, a B in German, and an A in Maths. At GCSE, I achieved an A* in all three languages. In my free time, I love to travel and having lived in Madrid as part of my year abroad, I have a high command of the Spanish language. During this time, I worked in a translation agency, and therefore have a valuable background in professional translation. That said, I am also familiar with what examiners look for in A-level and GCSE exams, which can somewhat differ to what professional translators may look for. As well as Spanish, I also showed a strong flair for French while at school. I have been tutoring A-level French privately to a Year 13 student for the last year, which I found hugely rewarding and allowed me to rediscover my love for the language. I thoroughly enjoyed the tutoring experience and am looking forward to helping more students achieve their desired grades. I like to tailor my lessons to student needs and focus on areas where they feel they need the most practice, however if they prefer a more structured approach and prefer to be told what to do (as was the case for me when I was at school!), I am more than happy to adapt, and will ensure that all subject areas are covered.

My name is Valeria Garnica and I am a Canadian graduate from UC Berkeley in sociology. Now I find myself in the great city of London, as I am doing an MSc in Global Media & Communications at the London School of Economics. I am curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn. I have seven years of tutoring experience with children, and four years at the university-level. My expertise is in English Literature and Composition, however, I am well equipped to tutor in all social science and humanities courses. I am patient, kind and interactive. It would be an honour to work alongside students in the area to help them reach their personal and academic goals. Additionally, I have four years of professional experience. I worked at the Program for Disabled Students Office at a university in California, where I worked closely with counselors to create individualized paths for each student’s academic necessities. I also managed and organized hundreds of student documents and records on online databases. Finally, I assisted the department with exam proctoring and scribing. My work with disabled students stems from my own experience with Dyslexia. As a tutor, I am especially attentive to students with learning disabilities. Currently, I work in Public Relations. I am responsible for curating articles, pitches, press releases, roundups, and campaigns for clients. These are all practical and professional skills that I am able to transfer to my work as a tutor. I am committed to helping students succeed with all my past experience, knowledge and passion.

Hi! I am Eleni, a passionate linguist expert. I have been teaching Modern Foreign Languages for more than 20 years. More specifically, I teach German, French, English (EFL), Italian and Greek in any language level. I can also teach Spanish to GCSE level and I speak some Japanese too. I am a qualified UK school teacher with QTS and PGCE and I am also a CIOL Member and a Chartered Linguist. What's more, I studied Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and I have the highest diplomas (C2) in all the languages I teach. I have lived and worked all around Europe and I am currently based in Thessaloniki. You can find out more about my education by checking out my profile. What is also important to know is that languages are my greatest passion and I've been studying them for all my life. I've been a teacher for more than 20 years and nothing gives me greater pleasure than to impart my knowledge to my students in a fun, interesting and engaging way that is always adapted to the personal needs of every student. I have also huge experience in exam preparation. I have prepared hundreds of students for their language exams and I can guarantee your success in your A-Level or GCSE exams and I should also mention that many of my students are now studying at some of the top Universities of the UK, Cambridge and Oxford just to mention two examples. I can also prepare you for international language exams in any language level proficiency (A1 - C2) for any of the official providers (e.g. Goethe Institute for German). When I do not teach I... teach voluntarily! :-) I organise classes for children that cannot afford it and I have also taught to an orphanage. I try to participate to as many voluntary actions as I can, especially for homeless people. I love nature, the countryside, animals, I try to cultivate my own tomatoes and I would love to learn horse riding. I urgently need some time and a tutor for the latter! Either you are a student or an adult, either you want to prepare yourself for exams or you would like to learn a language that will help you professionally or just for fun, I would love to meet you and start our language journey together. So, take the first step and reach out to me. I promise you, it will be the first step of many!

I'm currently a PhD student in Psychology at the University of Birmingham and have previously studied at the University of Cambridge where I completed a research-based Masters degree in Psychology. I have over 6 years experience in tutoring pupils and university students in Psychology (including statistics and research methods), German (my native language), and Spanish (bilingual proficiency). I have also taught a variety of students online for over 2 years now and feel confident that this format can work well for building a positive learning environment. I always aim for students to feel confident and happy at the end of a lesson, which I believe is just as important subject knowledge. I have in-depth knowledge of the UK GCSE and A Level curriculum in Psychology, Spanish and German (AQA, OCR, Edexcel) and use up-to-date past exam papers to guide my teaching where relevant. Drawing on my experience from successfully publishing in academic journals, I also offer advanced feedback on dissertations or other project work at undergraduate and graduate degree level. In addition, I offer proofreading and individualised feedback to personal statements for university admissions. I plan my lessons to include small pieces of information and intermittent learning goals, balancing explanations with giving students opportunities for applying and practicing the newly learnt information. To ensure continuous progress, my lessons usually start with a quiz or a quick recap of the previous lesson’s content. If desired, I provide students with further useful materials to be completed independently in between lessons. Where possible, I like to connect study material to real life examples that students can relate to. I’ve observed that when seeing the personal relevance of the subject matter, students have often shown significant learning progress, motivation and understanding. I always welcome questions and feedback. I’m very much looking forward to continue working with a range of different students!

¡Hola! My name is María and I am from Valencia, Spain. I live in London since 2008 and since I got my Qualification Teacher Status in 2010, I have being teaching Spanish at prestigios schools and tutoring online. I am passionate about teaching and I believe that everybody has the right of a high quality education. I have gained valuable experience and confidence in my teaching and interacting with young people. I am specialised in teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5, I/GCSE Edexcel and AQA syllabus, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. I am very proud to say that my students consistently achieved exceptional results, (I/GCSE A*/B 100%, AS and A-Level A*/B 100% and IB 5-7 100%). My lessons are well organised, dynamic and student centred. I motivate students as individuals to ensure they enjoy learning Spanish, thereby making them more independent learners developing attributes such as problem solving, risk taking and determination. As the world is changing rapidly working from home has become an advantage not only for myself but also for my students since we are able to balance work and family life. Online lessons enhance tailoring my students individual’s needs and pace effectively creating a more stress free learning environment as well as fun and creative online classes. As a Spanish citizen I adore the diversity of my country and its culture. I have travelled around Spain to discover its beauty in towns, cities as well as isolated places. What I enjoy most is that, I am able to bring Spain into the classroom. Learning a language is not only a way of communication but also a way of understanding hispanic countries better. I am certain that cultural engagement has a great impact on their growth as linguists. I enjoy going to the cinema and theatre, I am especially interested in Hispanic cinema and literature and I particularly enjoying discussing this with students. I love being in contact with nature and enjoy trekking and walking. I like keeping fit through the regular practice of yoga and going to the gym.

I am a native Spanish speaker originally from Spain. I have more than 200 hours of experience teaching this subject to beginners, intermediate and advanced students. I personalise my lessons to cater for your individual needs. I have strong interpersonal skills in working with students to help them achieve their goals. I operated a KS3 homework club in which I made sure the different students understood the material they were looking at. I am comfortable working with children of all ages and keeping them engaged in the content we are trying to go through. I am passionate about helping students improve in all areas of the language. It always makes me happy when one of my students improves or understands a hard concept that was hard to understand at the beginning of the session. I am confident that my passion and expertise will help you succeed. My lessons are very interactive, even when doing them online. If you want to study Spanish and are a beginner, I tend to do one lesson grammar and one lesson vocabulary. I will give you homework, and from the first session, you will be able to pronounce and memorise new words. If you are intermediate, I will go through some harder grammar with you, but we will have translation and reading sessions. We will concentrate on speaking and debating at an advanced level, and you will write short stories for me to assess your spelling and grammar abilities. If this sort of lesson style and approach to teaching interests you, please drop me a message

Hello! I'm a recent architecture graduate, and I want to help your child achieve their potential and stimulate a positive attitude towards learning. It's as simple as that. In my opinion, the root of successful tuition consists of three factors: the attention the tutor pays to the student's learning methods, the passion the tutor has for the subject and the enjoyment the tutor receives from the act of teaching. My teaching methods hinge on the recognition that every child is unique. There is no "one size fits all" solution to learning, and hence I establish as quickly as possible which of the various techniques works best for my students and then apply the relevant tutoring methods. As well as maximising academic progress, this approach gives you more value for money. I know that a concept fully understood and a method embedded and consolidated through practice will arm your child with the confidence and skills they need to tackle any question or problem successfully. I also know that the key to success is effective study skills and habits. I can show your child how to organise their learning into easy to revise chunks that work for them. This is a skill that will carry them through their whole education. Anyone who knows me well knows my three main passions to be architecture, Spanish and football (because I rarely talk about anything else!). Unfortunately Tutor House don't offer football coaching, so instead I've opted to tutor the beautifully logical language of Spanish and the disciplines that underpin architecture: maths and physics. So, what makes me qualified to teach these subjects? As shown by my qualifications, I hold an A grade in both maths and physics A-Level with AQA and OCR, respectively. This knowledge is put to use daily in my job as an architectural assistant, where we use calculation and scientific reasoning to create imaginative, effective and innovative architecture that pushes materials to their physical limits. I studied Spanish up to AS-Level, receiving an A grade, and lived in Spain for 9 months last year working as an English teacher. Immersing myself in the language allowed me to learn it from a new, colloquial perspective, broadening my capability. Being the son of a teacher, I've always been close to the profession, and have learnt a lot about the process of teaching and learning through discussion with and observation of my mother. I get a sense of happiness and pride from helping people do things that they couldn't do before, so have always sought out opportunities to teach. In Spain I worked in a primary school, teaching ages 4-12 a range of subjects in the students' non-native English. It was incredibly satisfying to see how far they progressed month to month, and when I left to return to England it was sad to say goodbye; we'd built up quite the relationship. In addition I tutored young adults individually to improve their English. On returning home I have been involved in a term long programme for the organisation Archimake, which teaches children architectural design skills and inspires confidence in their creative ability. My other relevant experience includes childcare and mentoring. My positive and energetic character allowed me to build up a rapport with the children that I minded in their own homes, out and about and on their family holidays abroad. I strove to be an outstanding and trusted role model, whilst allowing them to have fun. At university I was a peer mentor to architecture students in the year below me. My role was to ensure their mental wellbeing as they adapted to university life and the intense architecture degree. Despite being a young tutor, my varied experience thus far has taught me a diverse range of skills and techniques that lend themselves to successful tutoring. I also think that my age makes me more relatable to students. In many cases I will understand and even remember the emotion behind their frustrations, allowing me to formulate a more considered and effective response. My attention to detail and thoughtful approach will provide your child with a considered tailor-made tutoring package. Meanwhile, my irrepressible passion for my chosen subjects coupled with a knowledge base formed by their intense study will facilitate productive and engaging tutoring. Finally, through my love of teaching I will try to inspire a fascination with learning in your child that will benefit them for the rest of their life. It's as simple as that.

Federica has helped me gain so much more confidence with my Spanish; she has especially helped with my accuracy — things I didn’t even know I didn’t know!
