I am an experienced tutor, with over 10 years of experience. I am passionate about good quality teaching and a strong advocate for education. I enjoy sharing my subject knowledge and helping my students achieving their goal through rigorous work and emotional investment. I have a BA, MA and MSc in History and related subjects (Philosophy, Religious Studies, Cultures) and I am currently completing my PhD in the History of Emotions. As a trained historian, I am able to see the bigger picture, putting pieces together, with the strongest eye for details. Usually, I am excellent in identifying and addressing problems, especially in regards to my students or my classroom environment. My students have described me as a ‘rigorous’ and ‘inspiring’ tutor. I am Italian and I have been educated both in Italy (BA, MSc) and in the UK (MA, PhD). I have a wide, deep, solid knowledge of Humanities, particularly History, Cultural Studies and Religious Studies. I am fluent in English, Italian (mother tongue), Spanish (University level, DELE diploma) and French. I have also studied Ancient Greek and Latin. I can teach a History lesson starting from the etymology of a word, quoting literary texts and primary sources, using several different historiographical approaches. On the contrary, I can teach Spanish and Italian not only focusing on linguistic functions or grammar, but also explaining the meaning and use of the language through the culture and history of Spain and Italy. I would say my teaching approach is Socratic and solidly interdisciplinary. Essentially, I am comfortable teaching any subject in the Humanities. Currently I am working as an Assistant Tutor at the University of Warwick, where I teach a module focused on Early Modern European History, which is my area of expertise. I have experience in planning and delivering lessons, marking assignments, monitoring students' progress, being aware of health and safety as well as pastoral issues related to my students. During the last two years I have also worked for a charity called 'The Brilliant Club', delivering academic style programmes in schools, to promote higher educations for young people with high potentiality but disadvantaged backgrounds. I regularly teach Italians to kids in my local area and, when still residing in Italy, I worked for several years as private tutor for private families, assisting kids aged 7 to 17.

Hi, thank you for landing on my profile. I am a native Italian and Chinese tutor, and I have been teaching languages (including English, French and Spanish) for 10 years, in person and online. I am passionate about empowering my students and designing classes that allow them to learn quickly whilst having fun. With the right method, anyone can learn a language, and I am here to help you find out what works best for you. Of course, if you have a textbook or a specific curriculum, we can follow that. I personally love learning languages because they open so many doors and help people connect in real life. I am teaching myself German, Russian, Catalan and next year I will start Japanese. About me, I spent 25 years between Europe and China and I am currently a PhD researcher in Travel&Tourism. I also work as a tour director organising and leading educational tours for schools and private groups.

I am an Eton/UCL GCSE English, Spanish and History tutor in central SE and SW areas. I also have a great track-record with Eton and Benenden admissions as well as tutoring equity and trusts law at university level. I provide individually tailored and in-depth tutoring sessions either in-person or online. The focus is on helping young people to help themselves. I am an easygoing tutor and I am always happy to see students realise that the subject matter and exam techniques are not intimidating when they have the right approach. I set homework... I attended Eton College for secondary school education (2010-15). Fluent in Spanish (having lived in Argentina). I have two degrees: Art History BA (Courtauld Institute of Art) (2016-2019) and Graduate Diploma in Law (City University, 80%+ in Equity and Trusts exam) (2019-2020). I am currently completing a Master of Laws degree with a specialism in human rights at University College London and also work part-time as a bilingual legal representative for Spanish-speaking workers before employment tribunals and disciplinary hearings. Full driving license and car for residential tutoring or similar commitments. "Atticus is a charming guy with good knowledge of History. He prepared my son for his GCSE exams in History. He is organised and hard working. He prepared well ahead of each lesson and provided written feedback at the end of most lessons. Highly Recommended!" (5-stars) "Atticus has been great. My sense is that he has struck exactly the right balance between rigour (homework between sessions etc) and a great enthusiasm for learning which has meant that my son (aged 12) looks forward the lessons. I have been extremely impressed and would recommend Atticus wholeheartedly." (5-stars)

I was born & raised in Spain and moved to the UK at the age of 15. I speak fluent English due to my parents coming from an English speaking country. I have completed secondary school in Spain. However, I also did my GCSEs here in the UK. Additionally, I have completed my A-Levels, Undergraduate and PGCE in the UK. Furthermore, I have got teaching experience abroad: Spain & UK. Therefore, I am very familiar with both education systems. I really love engaging with people from any age range, as I consider myself a very outgoing person and I am always willing to teach, share and learn from others regardless of the topic. Please feel free to book a trial with me and be rest assured not to be disappointed.

I am a practising resident artist at a local art studio community in South London interested in encouraging a more sensitive understanding of daily life through art.  I graduated with a BA in Fine Art (1st) at Chelsea College of Arts (2011-2014) including an Erasmus exchange at Iceland Academy of the Arts (2013) and achieved a Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design (Distinction) at Camberwell College of Arts (2010-2011).  Since completing my studies, I conducted an independent DIY artist residency (July-September 2014) in Copenhagen, Denmark culminating in a stay with a collaborative pop-up exhibition.  In 2015, I was commissioned to create illustrations and video graphics for on-stage video projection design for theatre in the UK and from 2016-2017 I returned to Denmark on several occasions to collaborate with local artists and exhibit further in non-gallery spaces.  Most recently, I have also exhibited in Finland and have focused on projects in the UK that encourage growth of local opportunities between creatives and the local community by leading the curation of an open studios exhibition at my studio.  In addition, I have worked on projects that promote awareness of local heritage such as being commissioned for faux painting to conserve a listed building in London and exhibiting at Coventry Cathedral to help commemorate events of World War Two. Alongside my experience as an independent freelance artist, I have also assisted at leading galleries, cultural archives and more commercial settings such as art fairs which would help students interested in furthering their art studies get a better understanding of the opportunities available to help craft their own path.  I have a year's experience of private art tutoring through arranging art activities for local friends and family which gave me an insight into the therapeutic qualities of my art practice and my ability to inspire confidence in individuals through teaching with my intuitive and playful approach to developing ideas by experimenting with a variety of media.  Aimed at students studying GCSE/A-level/AS level Art and Design and Design & Technology. I would tailor the sessions to each student's needs starting with an open discussion to gauge their interest in the subject and what they wish to get out of the sessions such as creative skills they want to develop that will equip them with the tools they need to direct their own investigations for their coursework.  Learning from examples of existing art work and design from my own experience, I will encourage students to explore how artists and designers respond to the world around them.  I want to help nurture the students' observational and reflective skills to develop their individual form of expression. I work across a wide range of mediums including drawing, painting (oil and acrylic), stop motion animation, hand made/craft processes using ready available materials, recycling techniques, print making, digital photography (including editing in Adobe Photoshop), as well as old photographic processes like the Cyanotype process.  From my experience and knowledge of these processes I can offer practical sessions specific to the student's choice and equipment available. In addition, I also teach GCSE French and Spanish. I have a wide range of interests including learning languages (such as Serbian and Brazilian Portuguese from my heritage), singing, travelling, playing tennis and swimming.  Recently I started conservation volunteering with a local charity for local public green spaces to help create healthier and happier communities.

I graduated from St Mary's University in Twickenham in 2016 with a 2:2 qualification in Geography and since then have worked in different school settings, helping primary school and secondary level. I have A* to B grades in GCSEs including A* in English literature and A in English Language and I also have A levels in English Literature, Geography and Photography and studied Spanish at AS level. I am familiar with the curriculum and am available to tutor in the following subjects: English Language, Geography and Spanish. These subjects I enjoy to teach students, share my knowledge and help them to progress in their learning. As a tutor, I believe I can really use my transferrable skills of working in a classroom and my knowledge of different subjects. I also want to help students to achieve their best and improve their grades. I am patient and care to the student's individual needs. I am creative and aim to use this in my lessons especially for visual learners, I enjoy art and often paint in my spare time. In my lessons I will communicate frequently with my tutees in order to best support them and to get their input on what they need support with. I will make the lessons engaging, fun whilst being informative and educational.

I am a graduate of MML (French and Spanish) from The University of Cambridge. I studied at the renowned École Normale Supérieure in Paris on my year abroad and I am greatly fascinated by every aspect of languages. I have been studying French for nearly fourteen years and Spanish for nearly seven years. I have benefited greatly from the world-class education I have received at both Cambridge and the ENS. I have been accepted onto the MSt in Modern Languages at The University of Oxford. I have been tutoring for over one and a half years for a number of different organisations. I have taught over 400 hours of private 1-1 lessons, receiving over 50 five-star reviews. I have taught students of various ages and abilities. I have taught KS3 (French and Spanish), GCSE (French and Spanish), Cambridge iGCSE (French and Spanish), A level (French and Spanish), University level (French). I have taught French to a student preparing for a scholarship exam at Winchester College. I have helped a student at The London School of Economics prepare for a French oral exam and I have helped a couple of students prepare for MML interviews at Oxford (French) and Cambridge (Spanish). I have taught adults also, including two Cambridge graduates. I have mostly taught 1:1 lessons but I was invited to teach some group courses by an organisation I work for, based on my strong record in 1-1 lessons. I therefore have experience teaching groups also. Above all, I am here to help the student. Therefore, I will always look to ask students what they hope to gain from my sessions. This will help me to identify areas to target and also encourage my students to be self-reflective. Constant evaluation is an important part of the learning process. I will be very happy to mark work and suggest ways that students can develop their language skills outside of the lessons. This is critical because language-learning does require personal diligence and is a long yet very enjoyable process. I will look to remind students of things we have covered in previous sessions so that we can both follow their progression and so that they can better retain what they have learnt. I have excellent resources that I use to teach my students. I have adopted a meticulous approach to language study as I have sought to improve in all areas. It is very important not to neglect any area when studying a foreign language! Grammar forms the bedrock of effective communication, as does having a good vocabulary. Learning to express oneself naturally in a foreign language and avoiding anglicisms is always extremely important. I will encourage my students to work on their pronunciation so that they can express themselves more naturally in the language. I am very interested in languages and I am currently learning German and Italian. I also really like sport. I grew up playing competitive football and I now play a lot of tennis. I really enjoy travelling and I have an long-standing interest in the natural world.

I have experience tutoring at general primary school level (all subjects), languages (English, French & Spanish) up to GCSE, law (up to and including undergraduate level) as well as 11+ and 13+ entrance exams covering both verbal and non-verbal reasoning. A law graduate of Warwick (LLB) and Cardiff (LLM) universities, I am a well-read individual with experience helping children and young people with their entrance exams, GCSE prep. or general homework/school tuition. I am a native English/French speaker and fluent also in Spanish. I have taught English abroad in Spain and coached swimming during holidays whilst studying at university and was able to combine my academic sides with experience enjoying working with children to become an effective helper of children, young people and adult learners to enjoy their learning process, as well as to overcome hurdles and ensure a natural passage to high proficiency and academic success. I was tutored myself for a brief period as a child, for an entrance exam and for years afterwards I'd be told that my reading level was ahead of my age group, so I have first hand experience of the benefits tutoring can bring. My teaching style is putting the student at the centre of everything I'm doing and working with them to help them overcome specifics whilst always maintaining an eye on the big picture to ensure the easy parts are not missed either. Perceiving what my student's gut feeling is towards the subject matter they're dealing with enables me to figure out immediately how best to proceed, whether it be starting with topics they find easier to ease them in to their routine before touching on and then tackling the harder ones, or sometimes beginning with a difficult topic but presenting it to the student in a novel way, breaking it down in to small pieces for them to slowly but confidently process before revisiting the topic in a future session to ingrain it within them and help them to use their new skill more confidently and quickly. I think it's pivotal for a tutor to maintain a perspective of everything their student has to achieve as well as focussing in on the specifics. This is to ensure they're on a road to timely success, However, I also firmly believe that in every session, a student must leave with tangible and measurable skills and knowledge that they didn't know before that session began. My ability to focus on the path ahead as well as providing the diligence required on a topic by topic basis has given me a track record of guiding my students successfully to their academic destination in a timely manner.

About my sessions: I have tutored dozens of students online across different platforms, with 100+ hours of experience. My sessions are very flexible, I focus on whatever learning style is most effective for the tutee. If they are not aware of which one, then we can experiment and find out. In general, wherever you want to place the focus of the sessions is what matters. This applies both to the content and the structure of the session. By helping you identify your strengths and weaknesses, we can strategically work on any areas that will either improve their grades by the most amount or boost their understanding by the most, depending on the objectives we decide on at the outset. I do however believe in two core pillars of learning and understanding which are: active recall and spaced repetition. There is plenty of research to back these up. These can be applied to a wide-range of subjects for instance: doing examples in order to explain concepts rather than abstract definitions and formulae, doing practice questions and solving problems in order to apply newly-acquired knowledge and re-visiting content often in order to consolidate learning. To get the absolute most out of the session, you tell me what you want to cover in the session both content and how you want to address it eg. explanations, examples, problems. I would have loved to have had something like this during my GCSEs and A Levels. Probably the best way for me to learn is asking questions and that is why I so firmly believe in the value of a personal tutor. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ About me: I would have loved to have had something like this during my GCSEs and A Levels. Probably the best way for me to learn is asking questions and that is why I so firmly believe in the value of a personal tutor. I have always been a curious person who loves to be learning all the time whilst at the same time having struggled at certain points during my studies which means I can understand tutees in a wide variety of situations- whether they want help with some weak areas or really want to maximise their grades and push themselves to their limits. During my time at the University of Southampton where I studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering, I have also been part of several societies. One of which was a global organisation called Enactus which is about Social Enterprise where I learnt that I really love seeing others succeed, especially when they overcome self-imposed limitations and become more self-confident in the process. This is why I take a personal interest in my tutees and want them to achieve their true potential. I have always been a big believer that you do not fully understand something until you can explain it in very simple terms and this is something I have been applying to my learning for quite a long-time. I have also used this during an internship at a big Engineering company when trying to understand a topic that was completely new to me. I am a native Spanish speaker and fully bilingual in Spanish and English. This has helped me to learn several other languages too. I have tutored a fully qualified secondary school teacher in Spanish before.

Nora F

Spanish Tutor

In only one month worth of lessons with Nora, I managed to go from borderline B/C grade to an A grade, and ultimately land a place at King's College London. I was amazed at how thorough, effective and detailed Nora’s lessons were. I made mind-blowing progress week-after-week and, Nora even gave me advice via email outside of our lessons. Nora knows exactly what goes into getting top grades for exams and she is one of the best tutors out there. It's a no brainer to work with her.
