I like to engage children through fun and vibrant lessons. I tailor my lessons according to my pupils and customise games to make lessons more exciting. I like children to enjoy my lessons (almost as if the learning is disguised!) and use visual guides and physical props to help children access the learning. At first I use practise papers as diagnostics and then delve into particular topics that are in need of improvement. My lessons improve pupils' self confidence and self esteem. I also have many years experience in working with SEN pupils- I am very familiar with different systems and approaches to help aid every child in their needs. Over the past year alone, my pupils have made huge improvements. My GCSE students have scored level 9s, my 11+ students are all in highly academic skills with scholarship offers, and my younger pupils are thriving and are always at the top of their class. Hi, I am a fourth-year medical student at the University College London and I recently completed an intercalated BSc in Medical Sciences with Medical Anthropology. In my second and third years of university, I worked as a Target Medicine mentor, mentoring A Level students from disadvantaged backgrounds on their medical school applications. Topics covered included UKCat, BMAT, personal statement writing and mock interview preparation. I ensured that my mentees understood how to work tactically in order to achieve the required A Level results and how to aim for desired outcomes whilst maintaining realistic expectations. When students approached me with queries in person or via email, I enjoyed being very meticulous and encouraging with the advice that I offered in order that they felt supported during their most stressful times at school. I have experience teaching English as a foreign language to a range of age groups. A few years ago, I spent several months in Hong Kong tutoring English to primary school children on a one-to-one or group basis. I also assisted with the provision of recreational activities as I recognised the importance of making learning an enjoyable experience. Later, I taught English to international students through a Church programme and to elderly people at a Chinese elderly centre in Manchester.
