I have given lessons to kids learning French for the first time, as well as University students wanting to keep practicing. I have also helped friends study for their University exams.
I am very organised and reliable, and I prepare each of my lessons thoroughly. It is important for me that lessons take place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. This way, lessons stay enjoyable and progression is faster.
I tailor the content of my lessons to the needs and abilities of each student. I can focus my lessons on conversation, while introducing new vocabularies of expressions, if the student wants to improve its speaking. I can also offer more academic lessons, with exercises that focus more on grammar and written classes. As a French native speaker, students will acquire French vocabulary that they can use in real world, and become familiar with the subtleties of the French language.
Between each lesson, I always recap the new vocabulary learnt and make notes on the mistakes made. I usually give videos to watch, texts to read or questions to think about so that they can be discussed during the next lesson. On demand I can also give written assessments to complete between lessons, and then correct them.
I keep my lessons fun, interesting and enjoyable :)
My lessons usually last 1 hour, but they can be longer or shorter on request.

I am a Linguistics and Spanish graduate from Newcastle University who is passionate about learning and teaching new languages. My love for languages first began whilst at school, where I studied French, German and Spanish. During this time, I had a preference for the more logical aspects of language learning, such as grammar and translation. This lead me to study Linguistics at university, where I analysed language in a scientific way, helping me to understand how languages are learned.
Having sat A-level and GCSE exams for three languages in 2018, I know both the A-level and GCSE syllabi well. At A-level, I achieved an A* in Spanish, an A in French, a B in German, and an A in Maths. At GCSE, I achieved an A* in all three languages.
In my free time, I love to travel and having lived in Madrid as part of my year abroad, I have a high command of the Spanish language. During this time, I worked in a translation agency, and therefore have a valuable background in professional translation. That said, I am also familiar with what examiners look for in A-level and GCSE exams, which can somewhat differ to what professional translators may look for.
As well as Spanish, I also showed a strong flair for French while at school. I have been tutoring A-level French privately to a Year 13 student for the last year, which I found hugely rewarding and allowed me to rediscover my love for the language. I thoroughly enjoyed the tutoring experience and am looking forward to helping more students achieve their desired grades. I like to tailor my lessons to student needs and focus on areas where they feel they need the most practice, however if they prefer a more structured approach and prefer to be told what to do (as was the case for me when I was at school!), I am more than happy to adapt, and will ensure that all subject areas are covered.
