At A-Level I had an unusually scientific background, taking History (A), Biology (A*) and Maths (A), whilst achieving an A in AS Physics. Outside of more formal studies, I also read an extensive amount of 20th century classic literature and philosophy, and am teaching myself Spanish.
On top of this, I competed in Blues Gymnastics while at Oxford, have a black belt in karate, and travel as much as possible (with an especial focus on the middle east). I am currently a grade-one “outstanding” teacher in my present school, and have been delivering KS3, GCSE and A Level English, Maths and History in the secondary and sixth-form sectors for the past 16 years, in which time my results have far surpassed national pass rates. I have a broad range of experience turning around struggling students in some of the UK’s toughest classrooms, as well as challenging high achieving learners in the pursuit of academic excellence. In my teaching and tutoring career thus far, I have taught across the curriculum age-ranges (7-18 years), as well as undergraduate and postgraduate level students, and specialise in teaching troubled learners lacking confidence, whilst pushing very bright pupils.

Tutoring Approach
Besides enjoying superb results, my pupils benefit from a relaxed yet challenging atmosphere, with high commitment being expected of them and this has shown to bring both personal and academic growth, which is always pleasing to see. In terms of my lesson delivery, I always strive to be on the cutting-edge of education in use of teaching resources and methods.
