I am a Physics and Maths teacher with over 5 years of experience in a wide variety of teaching settings and with student groups of all ability levels and ages. I have taught over 500 students at GCSE and A-Level, in addition to running afterschool revision workshops and engineering clubs. Each of my classes has graduated with an above average A* - C pass rate, with the vast majority going on to top UK universities. As well as teaching, I can offer assistance with UCAS applications and personal statements, particularly in my University subject of MSci Physics with Theoretical Physics. I will teach students of GCSE, BTEC, IB and A-Level Maths and Physics of all ability levels, ensuring that each tutee gets their time in the spotlight to work on what they really need. My lessons will be divided into interactive instructions, in-depth question time, followed by practice with full feedback. I believe that students learn best in a comfortable environment where they are curious about the subject, and I try my utmost to ensure each lesson is interesting for every student. I can also create tests with full marking and written feedback for students whose chief concern is improving their exam performance.

Through my 2-year journey during International Baccalaureate (IB), I learnt that the most crucial element in success is the bond between a student and the teacher. Although I had some "bad" teachers in the past, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my teachers in Bromsgrove School. For the last 4 years, I have been creating a bond between me and my tutees which lasts to this day. As my IB journey was not too long ago, I can relate with all problems you are facing. Therefore, I can assure you, our lessons together will overcome any problems in Maths, Physics and Economics whether it is A Levels or IB.

I am currently studying towards my PhD degree in Mathematics at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and at the same time, since 2017 I am employed by QMUL as a Teaching Associate for various Schools within the college. Being employed as a Teaching Associate for the Schools of Mathematical, Biological and Engineering Sciences at QMUL equipped me with a certain level of initiative and commitment when it comes to resolving complex situations that may arise within the classroom. The modules I have taught range from “Probability & Statistics” to “Data Analytics with Excel”, always within the field of Mathematics and Physics. I am experienced in submitting accurate reports and working efficiently within a team, due to my PhD course. Apart from my academic teaching experience, since 2018 I have been employed as a Private-Tutor for Kaleido Tutors London as well as BE Education, where I had the opportunity to teach students of various ages on Mathematics and Physics for GSCEs, A-Levels and Cambridge Pre-U. Moreover, I familiarized myself with online tutoring, by providing lessons over Skype for students who were not able to physically attend the session. This taught me how to continuously engage with students and enhanced my ability to correctly evaluate situations where students lack the understanding of important notions related to the subject taught. During 2018-2019, I was employed as an Application Consultant at the Careers & Enterprise Center for the Careers Group UCL & QMUL where I learned how to quickly build rapport and provide targeted advice to students, with respect to their Oxbridge & Greater London Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes applications. I specialized in applications concerning degrees in Natural Sciences (Mathematics, Physics) but I also got valuable experience in Engineering and Biology subjects. Moreover, I prepared the students for their upcoming interviews for their placement by providing mock-interviews and various methods to answer difficult questions. These one-to-one appointments taught me how to handle personal data with discretion.

Hi there! I have a MSc in theoretical physics at Imperial College. I graduated from the University of Bath in 2015 with a first class degree in Physics, and spent a year on placement working at a Laser facility in Oxford as part of my degree. Whilst undertaking my postgraduate studies I'm residing at my family home in St Johns Wood and am willing to travel far and wide to reach a wide range of tutees. I grew up in London and attended Highgate School and UCS where I achieved 9 A/A* grades at GCSE and A-levels in Physics (A), Maths (A), and Economics (B). Whilst attending school I received some personal tuition, which was a great help and took vast amounts of pressure from my shoulders; allowing me to pursue extra-curricular activities. This was extraordinarily beneficial when it came to applying to University, and provided a solid base for me to chase my academic dream. In my leisure time I like to spend time broadening my knowledge outside of physics, taking a keen interest in philosophy and literature; utilising the Imperial’s substantial offline and online resources to accommodate my interest. In my year off between secondary education and University, I traveled to China for two months to study Kung-Fu. Before heading out to the far east, I took a beginners course in mandarin so I could communicate with the locals, to make the experience more fulfilling and enjoyable. Although Physics is one of my main interests and the topic of discussion in most scenarios of my day-to-day life, I feel it is important to find some separation and pursue other areas of interest. Before damaging both my knees, a few years ago I formed a Sunday league football team with a few old friends that I help run. I am a keen film fan, an avid follower of the comedy circuit, and somewhat of a home chef. Whilst studying in Bath I volunteered for a programme called 'Lab in a Lorry', an organisation I found through the university. They tour the country in a large mobile unit kitted-out with several experiments and interactive demonstrations to bring science and mathematics to pre-GCSE children with the aim of peaking their interest. It is a joint venture of the Institute of Physics and the Schlumberger Foundation. I was able to volunteer several times and was privileged to be able to teach a wide range of age groups, which was vital experience for me as a soft introduction to teaching. During my time teaching I ran several practical demonstrations for the kids ranging from an introduction to fibre optics and their use in modern medicine and surgery, to an insight into polarisation of electromagnetic radiation and how it alters how we see our Sun. These experiences were extremely fulfilling, and encouraged me to become a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) ambassador whilst on placement in Oxford. This involved running several outreach programmes at local (and not so local) schools, with the intention of making science fun and more relevant to young children. Myself, accompanied by several other placement students, exposed scientific thinking and novel ideas to children of ages 6 to 12. Some of these activities included: telescopic observation of the moon, an insight into the specific electromagnetic dependent appearance of galaxies, the formation of stars and other stellar activities, as well as several other aeronautic and space based demos. I began giving private tuition in 2015 and have expanded my client base tenfold since starting out. My students have seen vast improvement under my supervision, with an average grade jump of over two grade boundaries. I have taught students from GCSE level all the way up to final year university students. The structure of my lessons is as follows: I will dedicate a third to one half of the allotted time to an overview of the method or theory that is to be covered in the session. The time dependence directly related to the difficulty and complexity of the subject at hand. This subset of time will be filled by an interactive slideshow covering the topic and basic examples of applications to everyday life. After this, I will introduce a few simpler example questions, that I will run through with my student in detail before handing the reigns over to them to answer multiple exam-style questions; for which I will give hints and review the necessary material before going through the method of the marker. This is a tried and tested successful technique. Upon approach of the examination period, the tutoring sessions will change to entirely question and answer based conditioning exercises. These will be example questions taken from previous papers and my personal stash of textbooks and notes. This method of teaching has worked extremely well with me over the last 10 years, and also with my previous tutees; and I have full faith that it will do wonders for future students too.

I have a knowledge of examining bodies such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, Salters & CCEA, the American system and International Baccalaureate however can work towards other examining bodies by request. I work with individuals to identify why they may have problems and make a plan to ensure that they do their best during their exams. I help adolescents choose a career path for themselves and help them choose their GCSEs, A-Levels & University degrees all the while preparing them for entry exams for high-performing schools. I work with nursery, primary, middle school, high school and University students to give them a good basis upon which to continue their education. My teaching style is to educate from the very beginning hence I am able to fully home-school individuals. During my University degree I specialised in Learning, Memory & Teaching through a B.Sc. in Neuroscience at Manchester University with specific interests in Developmental Neuroscience and how the brain evolves from younger years to later life. I am proficient in using e-learning methodologies and IT in my teaching and for my final year university research I created an e-learning computer program to help students learn difficult concepts in their studies using fundamental Neuroscience concepts on Learning. This was a huge success and I was awarded a First for my Teaching & Learning research work and have been selected for 2 Neuroscience PhDs since! I also achieved a First in my Learning & Memory Penultimate Year University Thesis and achieved the second highest grade in the year (86%). I was selected to lecture Neuroscience within the Faculty of Medicine at University of Central Lancashire. I have been selected to provide educational consulting services for agencies for students who need help achieving their goals but have no idea how to achieve them. I have also been selected to run ‘crash’ revision courses by tutoring agencies and delivered lessons within a classroom environment. I am a professional Governess and Tutor having worked for Royal Families, Forbes List and many others. I have served a dual purpose of working as a PA for the families I have worked with on a residential basis and during other employment. I can work on a long term residential basis or by a lesson-by-lesson basis. I enjoy working with families and enjoy family dynamics and working with other tutors/household members. I also have experience of organising the schedules of several tutors, multiple children, household members, children’s activities and chefs to attain the best possible study results for the children. I also arrange suitable nutrition for children so they are able to learn and retain information. In addition, I have tutored abroad and love to travel. For Science subjects I focus a great deal on recall and exam technique, linking topics with other subjects, ensuring the student most importantly remembers the information during the time constraints of an exam. For Maths I give the student tricks and shortcuts. I make the student repeat these shortcuts many times until the problem solving technique is second-nature so that the student can implement these fast. For Art subjects I ensure that the student has used a wide-range of media and backed-up their choices with written explanations. I spend time organising portfolios so that they are at a standard for entry into schools such as St. Martins / Parsons. I ensure the student creates a specialist sketch book with work that gives them more marks. I ensure special projects have enough pieces and depth for a substantial A grade. I work on GCSE, A-level & degree exhibition layout ensuring work is presented and mounted in a cohesive manner, demonstrating examples of A* grades and ensure the students' work is at the same level. I also have significant English Language training and have taught English and grammar in a professional setting. All in all, I hope to provide children and adolescents with a wholesome education to supply them with the skills to excel in their lives. My higher qualifications are in Theoretical Physics (M.Phys) at Swansea University and Cosmology (M.Sc) at the University of Sussex. I have experience with tutoring during my A-levels and have helped people with their homework over the years. Physics is an approach to understanding the world, rather than a body of knowledge, via mathematical models that utilise assumptions that are both simplifying and reasonable. It is this union of two rigorous disciplines, science and maths, that I find so compelling about physics as a subject. I am offering to tutor students who are pursuing their A-level qualifications or equivalent in physics and maths. My lessons would supplement the material from school-based courses and progress seamlessly from what the student already knows. I am aware that self-directed learning is vital but can be time-consuming without any guidance. I've found that part of what makes this process so difficult is that many new concepts are often introduced together. It makes sense to focus on these ideas individually to clarify any source of confusion or misconceptions as they have applications in many areas of physics. I would ask my student about areas they found difficult before the first coaching session when I would go over prepared hand-out sheets covering some of the core concepts. I would then move on to answering problems such as past paper questions. My approach would be tailored to the learning style of the student to assist in the process of understanding new ideas for them. I would also be happy to share additional tips that will help them both before and after their level 4 qualifications, including report writing, time management skills, exam preparation and how to best use the resources at their disposal. These ancillary skills are vital for any career in Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM).

I am a clear, patient and positive tutor with a Master's degree in Physics from Oxford University, a PhD in quantum computers and quite a lot of tutoring experience. I initially became interested in tutoring because I have always enjoyed helping people and after having won a couple of prizes for giving talks, it seemed I was good at explaining things. With increasing experience, I have found better and better ways to enable my students to really improve. Specialising in maths, physics and entrance/aptitude tests, I have tutored a wide variety of students from GCSEs and A-levels to undergraduates and adult-learners. With regards to the entrance and aptitude tests, I have helped several people prepare for the MAT and PAT (i.e. the maths and physics entrance tests for Oxford University and Imperial College) and for the QTS numeracy test (i.e. the test that is one of the criteria for people to obtain qualified teacher status). I once helped a person study for a maths test for them to become a trainee pilot for commercial airlines. I have taught at Saturday schools and summer schools across London. At 'Education Means Success,' I taught GSCE maths to small classes every Saturday. More recently, I gave seventeen year old students a flavour of university-level physics at the 'Debate Chambers' summer school. This included everything from classical mechanics through to relativity and quantum field theory. I have run two courses with 'Step Into My Shoes' that took place at Imperial College and prepared students for the Physics Admission Test and the Maths Admission Test.
