I am a London based secondary Greek school science teacher. I have a QTS in Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Since 2008 I have been a science teacher at secondary schools in Greece and I have a tutoring experience since 2005. I have an overall strong academic background gaining an excellence in PhD and MSc in Chemistry with a particular passion in Science, History and Philosophy. My degrees enabled me to become a sufficient researcher in medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry and in combination with my communication skills towards students gave me a great teaching ability and has developed a good working relationship between students, myself and parents. The majority of my students succeeded and moved forward into higher educational learning at colleges and Universities, passing with an outcome of high grades. I am available after 4pm weekdays and more flexible during weekends. I prefer face to face teaching for educational reasons but due to recent government guidelines regarding the coronavirus I will also be available for online tutoring to suit your needs. Please feel free to get in touch.

After completing my chemistry degree at Oxford University in 2015 and graduating with a 1st, I have been enjoying working as a private tutor full time; following positive results in tutoring while still at university. I have successfully tutored students of a range of abilities in schools and at home, applying rigorous work ethic with enjoyment in the subjects. I have worked with sixth form students in outreach projects at Oxford, including open day assistance and application advice. It is important to me that students make the choices that are right for them, and do themselves credit throughout their secondary school experience and beyond. Apart from success tutoring A level chemistry and maths, as well as GCSE science and maths, I have helped coach students through their personal statements, including to Oxbridge, ensuring that what they write shows what they have to offer. Working as a tutor has been extremely enjoyable and rewarding. I hope to continue to help students reach their potentials in their chosen subjects.

Studied Chemistry at Edinburgh University then Imperial College up to PhD level and began tutoring undergraduate students as part of it. Now, I teach A-level Chemistry plus some GCSE/iGCSE, college and university students. As I only tutor Chemistry and 90% of my work is A-level, I know the three syllabuses (AQA, OCR A and Edexcel) and past papers inside out. I also have my own website dedicated to A-level Chemistry and study methods. I have been tutoring Chemistry in Surrey and London, initially part time from 2006-2013 and since 2014, I have been a full time tutor. Every year I have a range of students with different abilities and from different schools. Many want to go on to study Medicine and need an A, and almost all of them will achieve this. Others students are doing okay and looking to improve their grades and some will really be struggling. If the students follow what I recommend and work hard I can guarantee that they will improve and so will their grades. It is just a process, do the right things at the right time and slowly the results will improve. I have examples of students who were failing in their mocks and almost miraculously got an A or B in June. While this is rare, it has happened several times over the past few years. When tutoring I focus on a few things: simplifying concepts and helping the student understand, helping them with self-belief and motivation (many students think Chemistry is impossible or they can’t do exams or they’re not good enough) and constantly looking at study methods and exam technique. The mindset and study methods are vital, in my opinion even more so than the Chemistry. If they get this right, then they will improve, they have to, it's impossible not to! And these skills are transferable to any subject and University. From experience, schools do not help with this at all, they focus only on the subject material. Most students are good enough to get a B or better and often need help seeing this and being shown how to actually get that grade. If they haven't done it before, who are they supposed to know what to do? After doing it once, it becomes a whole lot easier!

Hello there! I am an American Rhodes Scholar with a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Georgia Tech in the U.S., and a B.S. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford. I started tutoring maths 10 years ago, and since then I also have experience tutoring science, Latin, French, English and test preparation. I have tutored a wide range of ages, from primary school to university level, including teaching maths to other university students in a classroom setting for 2 years as a Teaching Assistant (for which I won recognition as "best undergraduate TA of the year). I am especially happy to help any students interested in attending American universities, from entrance test prep to personal statements, or to help younger students develop productive study skills and organizational abilities. I like to keep tutoring sessions fun and relaxed, because I find students think best when they feel heard and connected with, rather than intimidated.

I am a private tutor with over six years of experience and a proven track record of improving the knowledge, skills, progress and attainment of my students. I have worked with students including KS2 students preparing for SATs, KS4/GCSE and KS5/A-Levels. At each level I recognise the importance of capitalising on my students’ strengths and using differentiated teaching strategies to meet their learning needs and ensure learning and mastery of the subjects that I teach. My own academic journey and achievements have put me in good stead to meet the needs of my pupils and I believe that my proximity in age with some of my students has been of great benefit and in feedback from some of my students and parents, it has been mentioned that I am a good role model. My tutoring of students is not limited to teaching curriculum content. I also support my students in developing good study and exam skills I have helped students surpass their predicted grades; achieving 100% A* - B and more recently, 100% 9-7 results. In addition, I’ve also supported students in passing 11+/13+ exams and interviews, securing places in top selective schools. I also worked as an SEND Learning Support Assistant in a comprehensive school and this experience afforded me insight into supporting children facing varied barriers to learning in achieving their academic potential.

Hello! I am a tutor based in London, with over 3 years experience tutoring both remotely and face-to-face. I have a degree in Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge, and a fierce passion for Sciences and Maths, which I'm keen to pass on to my students. My approach centres around genuine learning, tailoring each lesson to the specific needs of any student, and encouraging understanding in place of memorisation. This method allows students to feel confident in facing exams and prepares them for a career of critical thinking, rather than only holding onto information until the end of the school year. If this sounds like it would work for you, please get in touch!

I have had a wide experience in chemistry both in the industry and in academia through my study of Chemistry at the University of Leeds, the University of Bradford, and the Gerhard-Mercator-Universität in Duisburg Germany. I also have a wide experience in teaching as a qualified lecturer and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in further and high education. In addition to that I have gained experience in teaching international students Throughout my studies of Chemistry I have become advanced in organic, inorganic, physical and polymer chemistry. I have a wide experience in teaching, enabling learning in the use of data, and giving the students regularly assessments to allow them to see their own strengths and weaknesses. On top of that I can provide them with additional tasks to be done in their own time to learn and remember the topics that they didn’t initially understand. I believe that for an outstanding lesson to be achieved, the lesson must have a sufficient impact on the students. Important factors for this to happen include always giving them targets before and after the lesson so they know what they need to focus on throughout the lesson and at the end of the lesson to act as a reminder of what they should have taken away. It must also give the students a sense of achievement as this will improve not only their attitude towards the lesson, but also towards the topic and the rest of the module. I have given many lectures and I always strive to improve on my teaching and incorporate a variety of learning styles. I am a reflective lecturer, I always deliverer my lectures and tutorials to an outstanding level, so that my students achieve their full potential and I always act upon their feedback Experience I hold A PhD in chemistry from Leeds university and have delivered over 1720 sessions mostly in Chemistry A level, as well as at GCSE and degree-level both in person and online, with over 70 concurrent repeat students and overall very good feedback. I have an extensive experience of chemistry both in academia and in industry through my study of Chemistry at the University of Leeds, the University of Bradford, and the Gerhard-Mercator-Universität in Duisburg Germany and that involves organic synthesis, liquid crystal chemistry, polymer chemistry, Green Chemistry (Ionic liquid), analytical chemistry and physical organic chemistry. I also have teaching experience in higher education, having been qualified with a PgCHEP qualification and having taught both Organic and Inorganic Chemistry to Science Foundation Year and Clinical Science students, as well as analytical chemistry to postgraduate students of pharmacy .

After a degree in Materials Science at the University of Turin (Italy) I have moved to London to do a PhD in Materials Modelling at the University College London (UCL), which I completed in 2007. Following the PhD, I have continued working as Post Doctoral Academic Researcher for 5 years at UCL. During these years, I tutored undergraduate students in Solid State Physics and Physical Chemistry. This experience pushed me at some point to move my professional career towards communication and education. After completing a MSc in Science Communication at Imperial College London in 2012, I have worked for few years as reporter of business and scientific enterprises including Industrial Minerals and the National Physical Laboratory. During this time, I have maintained my tutoring activity part time. I then decided to fully dedicate to science and maths education with young people, and I completed a PGCE in Physics at King's College London (UK) in 2017. In the last three years, I have been teaching Physics at Wilson's School for Boys and Mander Portman Woodward (MPW) independent school. My decision to move into a career in teaching and tutoring has been motivated by a strong passion for science and maths and a great enthusiasm to work with young people and students, to improve their interest in science and maths and most importantly their self-confidence in tackling problems and express themselves. I have been tutoring for 13 years at different levels of education. From 2009 to 2010, I have tutored undergraduate students in Physics and Chemistry subjects. During the MSc in Science Communication in 2011, I tutored A level students in Maths and Statistics and young students in KS3 Sciences (Physics, Biology and Chemistry). From 2012 to present, I have tutored from KS3 to KS5 students in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths either face-to-face at their home or in collaboration with educational consultant agencies such as Laidlaw Education and Lionheart Education. More recently, I have also tutored several students online, in Maths, Physics and Chemistry, mainly at GCSE and A level. I have also taught one-to-one maths to primary school students in some occasions. The subjects that I tutor are Physics, Chemistry and Maths (including Further Maths) at KS3, GCSE and A Level. I also tutor Biology KS3 and GCSE but not A level. My tutoring style is strongly based on interaction and participation. I like stimulating the student's thinking approach, and giving strong importance to active learning. I use past paper questions and diagnostic questions to find out strengths and weaknesses of students and I work strongly on the weaknesses to help them improve their understanding and overall self confidence. In my explanations, I use examples, graphical tools, as well as analogies and more interactive animations. I have also done some practical demonstrations to students when possible. I also set regular homework, which is regularly in-depth marked, and provide summary notes and stretching questions to review the students' understanding. Beyond tutoring and teaching, I love music and I have been playing violin and guitar for many years in several bands. I also enjoy writing songs and doing audio and video editing, as well as designing simple websites. My other interests are photography and arts. I enjoy doing sports, in particular football, basketball, swimming and sailing. I also enjoy dancing, cooking and travelling.

I am an Italian Chemistry student currently living in the UK. In the past years, I have dedicated my free time to tutoring and helping students at any level in various subjects such as Latin, Mathematics, Italian and Chemistry. I love sharing topics I genuinely care about with students and always try to make the content of my lessons light and stimulating. As an Italian native speaker, I offer lessons for anybody that wants to improve their language skills, from a beginner to advanced level. The sessions and content will be tailored to the individual's needs. The focus will generally be on Grammar as well as Literature or basic conversation, depending on the student's requirements. I understand how destabilizing the past months have been, as I have two young siblings that I helped through the homeschooling period; thus I want to offer all the help I can get to make this period a little bit easier. I also offer lessons in Chemistry as I have now completed my third year in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry, and I am approaching the beginning of my Masters.

I am a graduate of the University of Edinburgh having graduated with a 2:1 in Biomedical sciences as of July 2020. My tutoring experience predominantly consists of my time at school. Where as a Biology subject leader I was tasked with helping and teaching younger students of varying ages and abilities. I would also be asked on occasion to help struggling students with their studies in the evenings. While at university I may not have done much tutoring however I was able to observe first hand the most up to date teaching methods currently employed by a leading university. I therefore believe that as a result of both my time at school and university that I am incredibly well placed to offer quality tutoring to students at various stages of their academic life.
