I have a BSc in Chemical Engineering (2.1) with a Masters degree (Distinction) in Natural Gas Engineering from a UK University. I have been fortunate to work as a Process Engineer in one of the largest Oil and gas companies in the world for 10 years. Whilst practicing engineering, I was also a part time private Tutor; teaching and mentoring students in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and some Engineering modules at University Level. I am accustomed with in-depth knowledge of UK school curriculum and necessary skills required to pass UK 11+/12+/13+, GCSE, IGCSE, SATS, and A-Level Examination (AQA, Edexcel, OCR), and I have been preparing students for these exams for the past 20 years. I discovered my natural calling is to impact humanity with the knowledge and passion that I have, as a result I left the Engineering sector a year ago so as to allow me have more time with students. Impacting the lives of students positively gives me fulfilment and joy. I love to share knowledge and empower the younger generation. I am skilled at conveying complex mathematical and scientific concept in a simple and concise manner and I am an advocate of lifelong Learning. I have Tutored/Mentored over 200 students for Medical and Engineering/Technology related courses across various universities in the UK, USA, Canada and Africa in the last 15 years. 96% of my (Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics) students get A or A* score in GCSE, IGCSE and A-levels Exams every year. Asides being a Tutor, so many students have been motivated with my wealth of experience and teaching methods. My support has helped many students get scholarships in Top Universities in the UK, Canada and US; and my passion is centred around improving children's confidence in Mathematics and science subjects so that they can have good foundation. I constantly engage my students with effective motivating conversations that help them discover their skills and abilities that can enhance confidence. Some students only require a good Tutor that can motivate them to success. I have a strong passion for success, and that has helped me personally. I always get good result when I am dedicated to my work. I want every student I teach to excel even beyond their expectations.

*Prospective students/parents - if you could text me on 07845817534 to arrange a time to call to discuss your requirements or alternatively you can message me using the messaging function on the platform. Please note: the 'Instant book' option is disabled so you would need to contact on the number above first to arrange a time. Lessons are booked through the Tutorhouse platform. I have a knowledge of examining bodies such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, Salters & CCEA, the American system and International Baccalaureate however can work towards other examining bodies by request. I work with individuals to identify why they may have problems and make a plan to ensure that they do their best during their exams. I help adolescents choose a career path for themselves and help them choose their GCSEs, A-Levels & University degrees all the while preparing them for entry exams for high-performing schools. I work with nursery, primary, middle school, high school and University students to give them a good basis upon which to continue their education. My teaching style is to educate from the very beginning hence I am able to fully home-school individuals. During my University degree I specialised in Learning, Memory & Teaching through a B.Sc. in Neuroscience at Manchester University with specific interests in Developmental Neuroscience and how the brain evolves from younger years to later life. I am proficient in using e-learning methodologies and IT in my teaching and for my final year university research I created an e-learning computer program to help students learn difficult concepts in their studies using fundamental Neuroscience concepts on Learning. This was a huge success and I was awarded a First for my Teaching & Learning research work and have been selected for 2 Neuroscience PhDs since! I also achieved a First in my Learning & Memory Penultimate Year University Thesis and achieved the second highest grade in the year (86%). I was selected to lecture Neuroscience within the Faculty of Medicine at University of Central Lancashire. I have also been selected to run ‘crash’ revision courses by tutoring agencies and delivered lessons within a classroom environment. I am a professional Governess and Tutor having worked for Royal Families, Forbes List and many others. I have served a dual purpose of working as a PA for the families I have worked with on a residential basis and during other employment. I can work on a long term residential basis or by a lesson-by-lesson basis. I enjoy working with families and enjoy family dynamics and working with other tutors/household members. I also have experience of organising the schedules of several tutors, multiple children, household members, children’s activities and chefs to attain the best possible study results for the children. I also arrange suitable nutrition for children so they are able to learn and retain information. In addition, I have tutored abroad and love to travel. For Science subjects I focus a great deal on recall and exam technique, linking topics with other subjects, ensuring the student most importantly remembers the information during the time constraints of an exam. For Maths I give the student tricks and shortcuts. I make the student repeat these shortcuts many times until the problem solving technique is second-nature so that the student can implement these fast. For Art subjects I ensure that the student has used a wide-range of media and backed-up their choices with written explanations. I spend time organising portfolios so that they are at a standard for entry into schools such as St. Martins / Parsons. I ensure the student creates a specialist sketch book with work that gives them more marks. I ensure special projects have enough pieces and depth for a substantial A grade. I work on GCSE, A-level & degree exhibition layout ensuring work is presented and mounted in a cohesive manner, demonstrating examples of A* grades and ensure the students' work is at the same level. I also have significant English Language training and have taught English and grammar in a professional setting. In addition to online, I also provide in-person lessons in Kensington, London (details and address available upon request). I have significant experience in teaching students with learning difficulties and with students with conditions such as (but not limited to) ADHD, dyscalculia, dyslexia, autism however my approach here is largely atypical and unique. I also provide parental coaching for parents who may be experiencing challenges with their offspring. All in all, I hope to provide children and adolescents with a wholesome education to supply them with the skills to excel in their lives. Studied Chemistry at Edinburgh University then Imperial College up to PhD level and began tutoring undergraduate students as part of it. Now, I teach A-level Chemistry plus some GCSE/iGCSE, college and university students. As I only tutor Chemistry and 90% of my work is A-level, I know the three syllabuses (AQA, OCR A and Edexcel) and past papers inside out. I also have my own website dedicated to A-level Chemistry and study methods. I have been tutoring Chemistry in Surrey and London, initially part time from 2006-2013 and since 2014, I have been a full time tutor. Every year I have a range of students with different abilities and from different schools. Many want to go on to study Medicine and need an A, and almost all of them will achieve this. Others students are doing okay and looking to improve their grades and some will really be struggling. If the students follow what I recommend and work hard I can guarantee that they will improve and so will their grades. It is just a process, do the right things at the right time and slowly the results will improve. I have examples of students who were failing in their mocks and almost miraculously got an A or B in June. While this is rare, it has happened several times over the past few years. When tutoring I focus on a few things: simplifying concepts and helping the student understand, helping them with self-belief and motivation (many students think Chemistry is impossible or they can’t do exams or they’re not good enough) and constantly looking at study methods and exam technique. The mindset and study methods are vital, in my opinion even more so than the Chemistry. If they get this right, then they will improve, they have to, it's impossible not to! And these skills are transferable to any subject and University. From experience, schools do not help with this at all, they focus only on the subject material. Most students are good enough to get a B or better and often need help seeing this and being shown how to actually get that grade. If they haven't done it before, who are they supposed to know what to do? After doing it once, it becomes a whole lot easier!

Hello, my name is Lavan and I am currently a postgraduate studying for a PhD in Computational Chemistry at University College London (UCL). My methods of teaching vary from student to student as I cater towards their individual styles of learning. That being said, the one thing I do emphasise to all my students is that understanding the topics is much more important than just to solely memorise something. This is achieved by starting from the very basics and building from there, whilst simultaneously giving them structured methods which make it easy to remember crucial things from each topic. A typical lesson would be as follows: ●;;;; We start by going through any doubts from the homework that was set from the previous lesson. ●;;;; This is followed by teaching the next topic (new content) – emphasising key points that are highlighted on the specification. ●;;;; Next, we work through questions from various textbooks. To begin with, there would be guidance for each question and by the end of the lesson my students will attempt the question with minimal help from me. ●;;;; Finally, we go through any remaining doubts that have arisen throughout the lesson or any problems that need to be clarified from their school or university. Closer towards the exams my efforts would be focused towards two crucial skills. The first being exam technique and the second being timing. The approach I take for this is by going through multiple past papers and mock tests. This helps me to understand where my students need to improve and thus where to focus my attention for the upcoming lessons. In addition to this, I give my students tips and tricks that I have developed over my time as a student. I love teaching and especially teaching the sciences, so let me help your child truly excel in their subjects.

Hello, My name is Emir and I'm a first year undergrad student at King's College London. I graduated from High School with the IB Diploma with a score of 40 out of 45. I took Math HL AA, Chemistry HL and Physics SL and I scored 7 out of each one and I will be more than willing to help anyone in need of exceeding their mock exams, regular exams or the actual IB exam itself. I am also very familiar with the GCSE and A-Level format so I will surely do my best to contribute. I have 2-3 years of experience of tutoring in Turkey (where I'm from) and I believe I provide a different insight towards my students. I believe that as a student, I am more empathetic towards students because I was in their position not too long ago and that's why I can relate to them more than a professional teacher. I understand their stress, their concerns about time management and besides just lecturing, I can also advice and guide them about their social and academic life and how to balance both during exam periods because I have been in their shoes not more than a year ago. That's why I'm open to any questions the students may have, not just about the topic that they are studying; but about how they should study, what they should do in their free time to avoid mental exhaustion etc.

Thank you for looking at my profile! I know chemistry can be challenging and not so much lovable for many students, but I promise I will change your mind. I am an interdisciplinary scientist and a university lecturer with a bachelor in Geology and a doctorate in Petroleum Engineering. I recently moved to the UK from United State and I like to tutor in my spare time. After finishing my PhD program at University of Wyoming, in 2018, I accepted a lecturer position in the chemistry department at Northern Michigan University where I have taught general chemistry I and II, and analytical chemistry for four years. I have taught both science and engineering lectures and labs since I have been fortunate to be a teaching assistant both during my undergraduate program in Geology and my PhD program in Petroleum Engineering. I am very dedicated to student success. I like to try different teaching techniques based on the level of students and my classes and never hesitate to spend as much time as it takes so students could gain a solid understanding of the course material. As a result, I have received very positive course evaluations since my first semester at Northern Michigan University. I believe for each individual there is a unique teaching method that yields to a great success in a shortest period of time and I am here to provide that for you. I teach university first year, A level, and high school chemistry. I can also offer support for engineering, chemistry, and geology undergraduate research assignment. In addition, since I have eight peer-reviewed journal publications, I can help graduate students to prepare manuscripts. In June 2017, I was honored with the Harry Hill Graduate Excellence Award from the Department of Petroleum Engineering. This is a prestigious award with one recipient per year. University of Wyoming describes this award as follows; “The purpose of this award is to recognize graduate students who have achieved outstanding performance in course work, research, and service. The accomplishments of these outstanding students are demonstrated through their academic GPA, publications in archival journals, presentations at national and international meetings, service to the department, college, university and/or profession.”
