Hi there! I have a MSc in theoretical physics at Imperial College. I graduated from the University of Bath in 2015 with a first class degree in Physics, and spent a year on placement working at a Laser facility in Oxford as part of my degree. Whilst undertaking my postgraduate studies I'm residing at my family home in St Johns Wood and am willing to travel far and wide to reach a wide range of tutees. I grew up in London and attended Highgate School and UCS where I achieved 9 A/A* grades at GCSE and A-levels in Physics (A), Maths (A), and Economics (B). Whilst attending school I received some personal tuition, which was a great help and took vast amounts of pressure from my shoulders; allowing me to pursue extra-curricular activities. This was extraordinarily beneficial when it came to applying to University, and provided a solid base for me to chase my academic dream. In my leisure time I like to spend time broadening my knowledge outside of physics, taking a keen interest in philosophy and literature; utilising the Imperial’s substantial offline and online resources to accommodate my interest. In my year off between secondary education and University, I traveled to China for two months to study Kung-Fu. Before heading out to the far east, I took a beginners course in mandarin so I could communicate with the locals, to make the experience more fulfilling and enjoyable. Although Physics is one of my main interests and the topic of discussion in most scenarios of my day-to-day life, I feel it is important to find some separation and pursue other areas of interest. Before damaging both my knees, a few years ago I formed a Sunday league football team with a few old friends that I help run. I am a keen film fan, an avid follower of the comedy circuit, and somewhat of a home chef. Whilst studying in Bath I volunteered for a programme called 'Lab in a Lorry', an organisation I found through the university. They tour the country in a large mobile unit kitted-out with several experiments and interactive demonstrations to bring science and mathematics to pre-GCSE children with the aim of peaking their interest. It is a joint venture of the Institute of Physics and the Schlumberger Foundation. I was able to volunteer several times and was privileged to be able to teach a wide range of age groups, which was vital experience for me as a soft introduction to teaching. During my time teaching I ran several practical demonstrations for the kids ranging from an introduction to fibre optics and their use in modern medicine and surgery, to an insight into polarisation of electromagnetic radiation and how it alters how we see our Sun. These experiences were extremely fulfilling, and encouraged me to become a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) ambassador whilst on placement in Oxford. This involved running several outreach programmes at local (and not so local) schools, with the intention of making science fun and more relevant to young children. Myself, accompanied by several other placement students, exposed scientific thinking and novel ideas to children of ages 6 to 12. Some of these activities included: telescopic observation of the moon, an insight into the specific electromagnetic dependent appearance of galaxies, the formation of stars and other stellar activities, as well as several other aeronautic and space based demos. I began giving private tuition in 2015 and have expanded my client base tenfold since starting out. My students have seen vast improvement under my supervision, with an average grade jump of over two grade boundaries. I have taught students from GCSE level all the way up to final year university students. The structure of my lessons is as follows: I will dedicate a third to one half of the allotted time to an overview of the method or theory that is to be covered in the session. The time dependence directly related to the difficulty and complexity of the subject at hand. This subset of time will be filled by an interactive slideshow covering the topic and basic examples of applications to everyday life. After this, I will introduce a few simpler example questions, that I will run through with my student in detail before handing the reigns over to them to answer multiple exam-style questions; for which I will give hints and review the necessary material before going through the method of the marker. This is a tried and tested successful technique. Upon approach of the examination period, the tutoring sessions will change to entirely question and answer based conditioning exercises. These will be example questions taken from previous papers and my personal stash of textbooks and notes. This method of teaching has worked extremely well with me over the last 10 years, and also with my previous tutees; and I have full faith that it will do wonders for future students too.

I am a graduate from Imperial College London and Westminster School with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering MEng and have undertaken research at Imperial College London in the fields of green hydrogen and thermofluids. I also proofread scholarly articles and research journal papers for institutions such as ETH Zurich and Imperial College London. I have tutored for approximately 5500 hours over eight years and during this period I have helped over fifty students gain entry to higher education, that are currently studying STEM subjects at top universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College. The vast majority have obtained A*s and As at A-Level. I also tutor several degree level students, five of which have just been awarded First Class and Upper Second Class honours in their respective subjects. I find the process of improving a student’s understanding very rewarding and focus on a wholesome learning experience, always inviting my students to ask questions and attempt problems by themselves before I explain a solution and subsequently work through similar problems step-by-step until the content is grasped. The main emphasis in my lessons is to develop sound conceptual understanding, followed by fluency in answering practise questions, thus targeting excellent performance in exams. I also offer advice on personal statements and help with interview and admission test preparation, and am at your disposal throughout the week for any phone calls about homework problems, university applications, careers, and so on. All this experience throughout has kept me aware of the challenges young learners face, the kindness, understanding, and dedication that lies in a good teacher, and the importance of tailoring communication and teaching styles to the needs of the particular student. On that note, finding a tutor who fits well with your requirements is never easy so do reach out to me for a short and free video chat so I can answer any questions you might have. In my spare time I hike and compose music for film (I also teach music). Instruments that I play include cello, piano, guitar, and I also sing. Please see below my qualifications and I look forward to meeting you! 2015: Ten A*s at GCSE and iGCSE 2017: Three A*s at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics (100% in five exams) 2022: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London (Hons)

Hi! I graduated from the University of Warwick with a BSc. in 2024, and from the International Baccalaureate in July of 2021, with 43/45 points and Higher Levels in Mathematics, Physics and Economics. My Standard Level subjects were Psychology, English and French. I've been teaching in both virtual and classroom environments for approximately three years now, and have grown considerably over that time. Whenever I mentor someone, I try and take a hands-on approach, pacing the material appropriately and answering questions in the process. I'm proficient in a range of digital teaching tools, and am more than willing to adapt to new ones. I'm also extremely attentive to my learners, and try and tailor my teaching methodologies to their individual requirements. Outside of teaching, I love reading, writing and playing the guitar:)

I was Head of Maths, then Deputy Head (Academic) at QEH Bristol and served as a member of the Independent Schools' Maths Expert Group. I've been offering private tuition for 5 years and I run Maths 'Booster' classes with teams of undergraduates in local schools. I can tutor at home or online, using a document camera so that sessions can be recorded and viewed back. "I can tell you that I got an A* in both Maths and Further Maths thanks to your help!", said Varun, while Orson's Dad said, "...he achieved an A grade in his Mathematics A level. Without your input over the last year I think we would be looking at a very different result".

I am a highly experienced tutor with over 7 years experience teaching and tutoring in private and public schools, as well as privately and online, in the UK, France and Spain. I am familiar with all major exam boards, and have been frequently noted for the passion and rigor with which I introduce and teach my subjects. I am a firm believer in the idea that education should be available to all, and that there is is student without potential. I thus make a point to help the student see the attraction of the subject. My methodology is focused on ensuring immersion in both the more theoretical and abstract principles of the subect and their application through practice and concrete examples. I aim to get the student applying themselves consistently as soon as possible, keeping a constant eye out for areas for improvement. I studied at the University of Warwick, Sciences Po, and the Sorbonne. I have worked as a teacher, tutor, translator, researcher, as well as business research and charity. I am fluent in 6 languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German. I am also a teacher of Latin and Greek.

Are you tired of putting so much time and effort in revising but you still can’t seem to get the results? Spending endless hours behind your desk without proper structure, guidance, and continual assessment is pointless. As I approach 2 years of tutoring experience, I have gained the formula which has proven successful in transforming student performance. Not only am I a tutor, I’m a mentor who goes out of my way to ensure every student gets the most out of the time and effort they put in. So, are you ready to benefit from my lessons like many others have already? If so, what are you waiting for! Book a free trial lesson with me now and lets begin your journey on the path to success! A bit about myself: My name is Ihtishaam and I am a Chemical Engineering graduate from Imperial College London. I have a strong proven academic track record. In my A Levels, I studied Maths (A*), Chemistry (A*), Physics (A) & AS Economics (A) and got 10 A*-B in my GCSEs. I have 2 years of online tutoring experience and my greatest achievement so far has been boosting a student's grade from an E to an A in the matter of months! I also have some in-person tutoring experience from tutoring in a tuition centre, working with KS3, GCSE & A Level students in a classroom setting. I tutored 4-5 students at a time in Maths, Physics & Chemistry as I have a strong understanding of these subjects. During this time, I developed many transferable skills that can be applied to my sessions. I grew my communication skills by giving clear explanations to students when teaching them a concept, built a friendly relationship with my students, improved myself at scheduling the session, and developed my problem-solving and mentoring skills when challenged to tackle difficult questions from students. My approach: I was lucky enough to be tutored during my school years, and it helped with my performance in school massively, so I know how important it is to have a great tutor! Every student is different, thus the lessons are personally tailored to cater to the individual needs of each student. For those students who are more independent, they will be supported with any specific problems/weaknesses they have in the subject, along with exam technique so they have the best chances of success on exam day. On the other hand, with students who have fallen behind in class and struggle to grasp the subject in its entirety, they will be handheld in every step by being taught concepts from the bottom up, allowing the student to fill gaps in their knowledge and regain a solid understanding of class material. The lessons are designed to help students in overcoming difficulties and uncertainties in the subject, and simplify concepts that can initially be seen as complex. As a tutor with 2 years of experience and having taught numerous students, I am very understanding and patient, and I'm happy to go over the same thing as many times as it takes to make sure the concept is understood properly. I am known to be someone who can explain things clearly, and I bring this trait to my lessons. Previous students of mine have seen tremendous improvements in their grades and have thoroughly enjoyed my approach to teaching. My lesson environment is aimed to be as friendly and engaging as possible, and is definitely no place to judge anyone. Sound interesting to you? Book a free trial lesson now!

I have over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience in both university modules and A-levels for all major exam boards, specializing in computer science, programming, and mathematics. This extensive experience includes both in-person and online teaching, encompassing one-on-one tutoring as well as small group sessions. Throughout my career, I have maintained high success rates, and tutoring is my passion. My teaching approach is individualized, as I believe every student has a unique learning style. I adapt my methods to ensure the learning process is efficient and engaging for each student. Many of my students have secured places at Oxbridge and other top universities in the UK. Over the years, I have accumulated and developed a substantial collection of learning materials and exercises in the aforementioned subjects. I share these resources with my students to help them master the material and excel in their exams. Many of these materials and exercises have been custom-developed by me to provide individualized support whenever the available textbooks and standard exercises are insufficient. Additionally, I regularly administer written tests to identify gaps and areas for improvement, which also help students prepare more effectively for their exams. As a tutor, I am motivated, friendly, patient, and open-minded. My strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills allow me to connect with my students and help them overcome challenges. My lessons are organized in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Instead of simply reiterating textbook content or going over available exercises, I focus on explaining and emphasizing core concepts, identifying any gaps or misconceptions the student may have. I create an interactive environment where students can develop their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, I teach my students strategies for solving problems quickly, which is crucial in time-constrained exams. I also guide them in selecting the most appropriate methods and techniques for different problems, enabling them to perform well by quickly addressing the core of each problem without wasting time on less effective approaches. Overall, my approach to working with a student is as follows: First, I consider the specifications provided by the exam board for the specific subject or module. Next, I discuss with the students/parents to identify any special needs, requirements, and preferences that need to be taken into account. Together, we develop a suitable teaching plan and identify appropriate teaching and learning resources. This teaching plan typically includes regular homework exercises for the student to study independently between tutoring sessions, reinforcing the knowledge and skills acquired during our time together. This approach makes the tutoring sessions much more effective, allowing us to focus specifically on the student’s needs rather than spending time on concepts they can understand independently through textbooks or worked examples. I always aim to provide the best value for money, ensuring that even a limited or infrequent number of sessions can significantly improve the student's understanding of the subject and their performance in exams. However, I also ensure availability for as many sessions as needed, with many students opting for several sessions per week or even daily sessions when exam dates are approaching. My educational background includes undergraduate and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from the University of Patras (Greece). I have worked as a postdoctoral researcher at prestigious universities such as Cambridge, Surrey, and Essex. Additionally, I hold a teaching qualification for Higher Education from the University of York. I have also taught undergraduate and postgraduate modules at the Universities of York, Warwick, and London in the aforementioned areas. I have over ten years of experience working on industry- and government-funded R&D projects related to next-generation computing and Internet technologies, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. This experience has provided me with invaluable insights into advanced computing systems and electronics, novel techniques for computer networking and communications, as well as practical skills and knowledge in protecting systems and networks from cybersecurity threats. Furthermore, I have acquired strong programming skills across a wide range of programming languages and mathematical modeling techniques. Currently, in addition to tutoring A-level and university students, I also deliver specialized training programs and masterclasses to professionals in organizations worldwide. I assist university graduates in preparing for industry-required professional certificates. Additionally, I provide consultancy services to both start-ups and established companies within my areas of expertise. Feel free to reach out to me to discuss your requirements. I am eager to help and support students in achieving their goals. Before booking any lessons via the system, please make sure to contact me first, as my availability shown on the system may not always be up to date.
