I'm a Cambridge Law graduate and enthusiastic tutor of all areas of Law up to degree level. At university I earned Firsts in complex subjects such as Criminal Procedure and Administrative law. I have tutored many students at undergraduate level, as well as postgraduates. I love sharing my passion for the subject and knowledge with students and am also happy to give insights on the Oxbridge admissions process and help you make your UCAS application stand out. Since graduating in 2015 I've worked in several fields and am currently a welfare benefits specialist with a national charity. I'm friendly, accessible and flexible. I take a student-led approach that puts your development first, adapting my teaching style to match your unique requirements and pace. I encourage you to apply your learning to real-life case studies. This develops a real interest in the subject and awareness of problems and challenges with rules of law and their application. This is particularly useful when aiming for the highest marks. I'm looking forward to helping you achieve your academic goals.

I have recently completed my law degree from the University of Birmingham with a 2:1. My degree was extremely challenging but also intellectually stimulating and gives my the skills and competence to tutor English. I have tutored English and Maths to children in years 5- 9 for just under two years and have built a great rapport with my students. They are my mentees and I love being able to give them tips and hints regarding their future education and sharing the learning experience with them. I tend to assign essay pieces to my students for homework each week. Currently I am teaching a student the English GCSE syllabus in year 9 for the past five months and already I have seen a huge improvement in her writing skills and ability to analyse texts. My lessons consist of going over content, watching a video together regarding the lesson content and then completing questions together. I find that my students enjoy watching a video as it breaks up the lesson and makes it a more interactive experience. My interests and hobbies consist of reading, photography and travel. In my spare time I love to exercise, meditate and do yoga!

I initially qualified as a barrister in 1986. I decided to re-qualify as a solicitor in 1990 and have worked as a solicitor ever since, covering many areas of civil and criminal law. More recently, I have specialised in criminal law. After obtaining a 2:1 Llb degree in 1985, I finished in the top 10th percentile in the Bar Exams in 1986. I retired as a solicitor in 2021. I prefer to tailor my methods according to the needs of the individual student. Some students require more leadership than others. It is important that the student feels engaged in the learning process since it is the student who will have to go on in between tutorials to study the subject. It is important to encourage the student toward better work and methods of working. I encourage students to discuss with me their difficulties in grasping a particular area of law. It is very satisfying to see a student begin to thrive in an area of law which initially seemed intimidatingly difficult. It is always important to apply the law one has learnt to a variety of potential situations in order fully to understand how the law works in practice. Equally, such exercises are the biggest mark-earners in the exams. Learning to present an argument in a logical, easy-to-follow fashion is very important.

I attended Harrow School where I completed my GCSE and A levels and was exposed to some of the finest teaching styles. Following this, I began my undergraduate degree in History at the University of Bristol. Through a desire to pass on my knowledge and experience to others I began my tutoring journey alongside my studies. While undertaking a two-year Master's degree in Law at Bristol, I continued to develop my teaching abilities and undertake more difficult tuition jobs. I have tutored for the past three years and have focussed on quality over quantity. I prefer to take on a smaller student base which allows me to get to know the specific needs of the student and tailor my style accordingly. I have tutored a wide range of subjects to varying levels and to great success. My feedback has been positive as students enjoy the calm and methodical approach I take to teaching. I think it is important for the students to not just rope learn subjects but rather understand how the examination process works, enjoy learning and subsequently ace the exams. Most recently I home tutored a student who dropped out of school due to ongoing anxiety. I tutored her through eight key subjects and raised her grade from a predicted average of 4-5 to 7 on all key subjects. She has since gained a place at university and still remains in contact for further help.

Hello! I am an LLB Law graduate of the University of Exeter. At sixth form, I studied the International Baccalaureate with biology, chemistry and psychology at higher level. I have had over a year of tutoring (informal and formal combined). I became a tutor because I understand the importance of learning to understand rather than learning to remember. I only take on topics that I completely understand so that I can effectively teach these topics to a student. I mainly tutor science subjects especially biology and chemistry. I tutor all three sciences at GCSE level. I also tutor biology and psychology at IB and also A-level. As a law graduate, I can also tutor A-level law. In addition to this, I also have experience with academic mentoring and guidance of students applying to university especially Medicine. I can help with personal statements, university choices, UCAS guidance and even course choices. I recognise that all students are different which means that they have unique requirements. I usually spend most of my first lesson creating what I call a 'student profile'. This includes ascertaining information about the student's course, subjects, topics, learning style and other things that are relevant. This allows me to create a long-term plan for regular lessons and individual lesson plans tailored to the student. I use a range of teaching styles including presentations, quizzes and place an emphasis on interactive learning. As well as tutoring, I am aspiring for a career as a legal professional. My hobbies include nature photography, fashion illustration and perfume making.

I have been working as a teacher and tutor for the last 21 years teaching students from ages 5 to adult. I have extensive SEND experience in areas such as ASC SEMH, ADHD, MLD and SPLD. I have worked in primary, secondary, adult education, along with the private, state and SEND sector. I have worked as a tutor with students requiring support to access their exams, students who are currently not in education, looked after children and students receiving home education. I am able to deliver Many different subjects and this has helped students as they have only needed one or two tutors to cover the entire curriculum. I have also worked as an examiner for all four exam boards in the UK and have entered students for GCSE, BTEC, Asdan and A level courses throughout the whole of my teaching career in a wide variety of subjects and areas. I have also supported Access Arrangement applications for SEND students as part of this. Alongside teaching I have worked extensively helping parents and carers to apply for EHCPs, attend tribunals, claim benefits and supported them in dealing with the LA and other professional organisations. I believe in using the interests of a student as a basis to education and working to establish a good working relationship with all involved. I feel that students need to be challenged and stimulated in sessions and ensure that tasks are chunked and varied as much as possible. If you have any questions or would like to know more than please do ask.

I have been private tutoring since 2007. I initially started off tutoring during my degree and enjoyed it significantly hence why I continued to tutor. I tutor children from primary age all the way to A level students. I have always been attentive to developing my teaching style to match the current curriculums and I ensure that I research extensively in this area. I always have prepared lessons depending on the individuals needs and tailor my lessons around the student. I have a passion for tutoring and I hope to continue this role for the long term. I feel a great deal of satisfaction from helping students reach their true potential.
