Hello, this is Sem! I am an LLB Graduate from Queen Mary University of London and I have recently finished my LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law at Queen Mary University of London. I am working in a law firm and doing online tutoring at the same time. I have taught more than 45 students in the past three years, prepared them for exams, helped them with courseworks and enhanced their knowledge. I also taught children, assisted them for learning a new language (both French and Turkish). Thus, I am native in Turkish, fluent in French and English, intermediate in Spanish. I am a very organised, disciplined and patient person. Moreover, I went to a French School from the age of 3 until 8, which is called Lycée Français Pierre Loti d'Istanbul, and I got my French Baccalaureate with Mention Tres Bien (16.2/20). All in all, my main goal is to help, motivate and support students to achieve their best. The most effective way to do this is by making sure that students understand each topic and do not hesitate to ask any questions. Thus, at the end of each session I am summarising what has been covered during the lesson. During the lessons, I am including real-life examples and stories that I have encountered in order to help the student remember and better understand.

Hello! I am an LLB Law graduate of the University of Exeter. At sixth form, I studied the International Baccalaureate with biology, chemistry and psychology at higher level. I have had over a year of tutoring (informal and formal combined). I became a tutor because I understand the importance of learning to understand rather than learning to remember. I only take on topics that I completely understand so that I can effectively teach these topics to a student. I mainly tutor science subjects especially biology and chemistry. I tutor all three sciences at GCSE level. I also tutor biology and psychology at IB and also A-level. As a law graduate, I can also tutor A-level law. In addition to this, I also have experience with academic mentoring and guidance of students applying to university especially Medicine. I can help with personal statements, university choices, UCAS guidance and even course choices. I recognise that all students are different which means that they have unique requirements. I usually spend most of my first lesson creating what I call a 'student profile'. This includes ascertaining information about the student's course, subjects, topics, learning style and other things that are relevant. This allows me to create a long-term plan for regular lessons and individual lesson plans tailored to the student. I use a range of teaching styles including presentations, quizzes and place an emphasis on interactive learning. As well as tutoring, I am aspiring for a career as a legal professional. My hobbies include nature photography, fashion illustration and perfume making.

I have been teaching students of schools in my neighbourhood and even my university fellows back in my undergraduate; I specialise in Economics and Geography. All my students have always been satisfied and all of them shared similar feedback that I make sure that they understand properly and they can ask me questions as many as they want. One of the reasons I have been chosen over others is my ability to give special treatment and my availability for my students. The results of my students give me great satisfaction and I ensure that I make the money they spent worth it by coming up to the expectations of their parents. I consider myself to have a proper way of teaching which is not only because of my experience but the number of diverse subjects I have been taught and the number of different countries where I have studied. I have attended school in Austria and Pakistan and did my Olevels and Alevels in Pakistan. I am currently doing my Masters from London. I have taught a variety of subjects to different levels of students and most of all I am very friendly in nature and I have never been harsh to any of my students. I believe in teaching strategy as the key not to pressure the student or scold them to do the work

I have recently completed my law degree from the University of Birmingham with a 2:1. My degree was extremely challenging but also intellectually stimulating and gives my the skills and competence to tutor English. I have tutored English and Maths to children in years 5- 9 for just under two years and have built a great rapport with my students. They are my mentees and I love being able to give them tips and hints regarding their future education and sharing the learning experience with them. I tend to assign essay pieces to my students for homework each week. Currently I am teaching a student the English GCSE syllabus in year 9 for the past five months and already I have seen a huge improvement in her writing skills and ability to analyse texts. My lessons consist of going over content, watching a video together regarding the lesson content and then completing questions together. I find that my students enjoy watching a video as it breaks up the lesson and makes it a more interactive experience. My interests and hobbies consist of reading, photography and travel. In my spare time I love to exercise, meditate and do yoga!

I initially qualified as a barrister in 1986. I decided to re-qualify as a solicitor in 1990 and have worked as a solicitor ever since, covering many areas of civil and criminal law. More recently, I have specialised in criminal law. After obtaining a 2:1 Llb degree in 1985, I finished in the top 10th percentile in the Bar Exams in 1986. I retired as a solicitor in 2021. I prefer to tailor my methods according to the needs of the individual student. Some students require more leadership than others. It is important that the student feels engaged in the learning process since it is the student who will have to go on in between tutorials to study the subject. It is important to encourage the student toward better work and methods of working. I encourage students to discuss with me their difficulties in grasping a particular area of law. It is very satisfying to see a student begin to thrive in an area of law which initially seemed intimidatingly difficult. It is always important to apply the law one has learnt to a variety of potential situations in order fully to understand how the law works in practice. Equally, such exercises are the biggest mark-earners in the exams. Learning to present an argument in a logical, easy-to-follow fashion is very important.

Worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at a tuition provider for 2 years from June 2012 to August 2014. I taught Law, Mathematics and Accounting to students sitting for their GCSE and GCE. I was primarily involved in teaching students who needed extra attention after class. I also prepared mock exam papers for these subjects. Subsequently, I provided lessons in Law to students sitting for their GCE A Levels for more than 4 years from 2012 to 2016. It involved explaining legal concepts, discussing each topic, brainstorming, solving problem and essay questions, question-solving, preparing students for their exams and taking tests. These lessons were all taught at home. From mid 2016 to present times, I have majorly focused my lessons on Law both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including BPTC. Apart from providing knowledge-based lessons, I help students with their assignments, coursework and dissertation. I also assist students in their application for pursuing law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I conduct my classes through interactive sessions where the tutee is encouraged to voice out their queries and concern. Specific goals are set for each class and each lesson is conducted through a problem-solving approach. Questions are solved at the end of each topic in order to ensure that tutees know what type of questions to expect and how to deal with them accordingly. I will try my level best that tutees engage and grasp the subject matter of the lesson.

I have a good working knowledge of using computer software applications such as: Microsoft word, excel, access, PowerPoint and the internet. As I have completed the European Computer Driving Licence level 2 course. Furthermore, when I was a self-employed courier I was responsible for all my tax and vat calculations which involved high usage of Microsoft excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. In my voluntary role as a Victim Support Officer I write reports for every client assessment interaction which are then conveyed to my manager for further investigations. These reports are used by my manager to ascertain if the client is satisfied with the support they have received and to assess any additional support needs that the client may have. I have also, supported clients in completing criminal injuries compensation application forms, which they would otherwise not complete on their own. As this may be daunting after having endured a criminal incident. I am meticulous in report writing, which requires high levels are literacy and computer skills. In addition, in my role as a Victim Support Officer, the primary aspect of my role is to interview clients who have been victims of crime. As an interviewer, I have excellent interpersonal skills in order to put clients at ease and share their experience with me. Interviewing techniques were part of my core training for Victim Support and I have had excellent feedback from both clients and colleagues about the way I conduct client meetings. Trainees have been encouraged, by my manager to sit in on my meetings as they demonstrate such high levels of expertise. I would like to join at entry level. To teach A level law and English as a foreign language

What is Finn's Law?

Finn's Law is the nickname for the Animal Welfare (Service Animals) Bill. It was enacted when PC David Wardell's police dog (Finn) was stabbed in the pursuit of a criminal. This bill therefore inhibits persons from claiming self-defence when attacked or injured by a service animal.

What is the Rule of Law in the UK?

The Rule of Law is a set of values that allows business to operate. These values include being: open, fair and peaceful. It's designed to encourage citizens to play nice and if they disrespect these values, they are liable under the law. For example, jail time.
