Hello, I'm Marie from Oxford, UK. I'm a professional teacher, University Lecturer and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Trainer. My specialist subjects include Business, Marketing, English Language, Media Studies and Sociology. I'm also a qualified English teacher, and have recently been tutoring students to prepare them for their 11+, 13+, and IELTS exams, as well as delivering a complete primary homeschooling programme. In my career so far, I've been lucky enough to work with some fantastic education institutions including Universities and Colleges in Oxford and China. I've delivered professional development training to teachers and professional staff from many different countries, and my work has also seen me travel to places such as Russia and Kurdistan. I am passionate about helping my students and clients achieve their goals through education, and I'm equally as happy delivering bespoke training sessions to large groups of staff, teaching a University course, or getting a call from an individual student telling me they've achieved the grade they needed that we worked on in their private study sessions. Before I retrained as a teacher, I worked as a Marketing Manager and Project Manager for a University in Oxford, and these skills and responsibilities have helped to shape my adaptable teaching style and capabilities. I would love to hear from you and find out about your training and education needs, and let's achieve your goals, together.

I have been working with young people for over 4 years now and have gained a well rounded portfolio of experience. I have been grateful to receive wonderful feedback from students, parents and colleagues! I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Bristol with a BSc in psychology & philosophy. I worked at a TEFL Language school where I designed a cultural programme for students and was the chief point of contact as a mentor. Additionally, I worked in the SEN department at a London secondary school supporting students with all Key Stages including A Level & IB. I have worked with students who have aspergers, autism, ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, sight-impairment and physical disability’s. A few examples of previous tutoring jobs: - Mentored a teenager over an 8 month period. - Tutored full time for the past 3 years as a subject generalist with an emphasis on the arts and humanities subjects. I have taught the core KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5 syllabuses. Covering all subjects such as art, philosophy, psychology, history, english literature & language, maths, chemistry, biology, physics. I have also done A level and IB tuition for subjects such as history, philosophy, english, art and psychology. - I have worked full time as a home school tutor teaching the core subjects, arts & humanities for ages 5, 7, 9, 11 & 14. - I homeschooled two brothers from a high profile family and prepared them for the English curriculum (from the American system). I taught english literature & language , R.E, art, politics and current affairs, textiles and took them on educational excursions. They also had to pass school entrance exams 11+, 13+, both successfully. - I homeschooled two sisters ages 7 & 9 and taught all the core subjects as well the arts and humanities. I prepared the youngest for her 7 + exams which she successfully passed. My students have gone on to excel in many subjects but especially creative writing and critical thinking. One student of mine was refusing to write at his previous school but after a year of working together he gained entrance to a top London school and is now currently the top of his class for English and is particularly confident with his creative writing. Another student of mine has gone on to win poetry competitions. My teaching style is engaging, innovative and supportive. I try to instill confidence and academic curiosity in my students, as I believe this is equally important to achieving top marks. * Fun fact about me: I paint professionally and pursue writing when I’m not tutoring. I am now keen to take on more students and would love the opportunity to work with you! Once we have been in touch and established something my response time will be very rapid. However because I am very busy it might initially take a little longer to respond so I'm sorry for that! Should be worth the wait though.

Hello! I am an LLB Law graduate of the University of Exeter. At sixth form, I studied the International Baccalaureate with biology, chemistry and psychology at higher level. I have had over a year of tutoring (informal and formal combined). I became a tutor because I understand the importance of learning to understand rather than learning to remember. I only take on topics that I completely understand so that I can effectively teach these topics to a student. I mainly tutor science subjects especially biology and chemistry. I tutor all three sciences at GCSE level. I also tutor biology and psychology at IB and also A-level. As a law graduate, I can also tutor A-level law. In addition to this, I also have experience with academic mentoring and guidance of students applying to university especially Medicine. I can help with personal statements, university choices, UCAS guidance and even course choices. I recognise that all students are different which means that they have unique requirements. I usually spend most of my first lesson creating what I call a 'student profile'. This includes ascertaining information about the student's course, subjects, topics, learning style and other things that are relevant. This allows me to create a long-term plan for regular lessons and individual lesson plans tailored to the student. I use a range of teaching styles including presentations, quizzes and place an emphasis on interactive learning. As well as tutoring, I am aspiring for a career as a legal professional. My hobbies include nature photography, fashion illustration and perfume making.

Hey, I'm Merci, I am currently studying for my Primary PGCE Qualification (in other words I am training to become a primary school teacher! Before I began training as a teacher I completed my TEFL qualification and completed my degree in Criminology and Psychology. Before I could begin to study for a degree, I first had to complete my A Levels and GCSEs, which allowed me to develop a love for studying! Previously, I have tutored on a number of voluntary programs, all revolving around teaching English and wider life skills (money management, interpersonal skills, etc) and I am currently gaining teaching experience in a classroom environment. I'm excited to have the opportunity to build on broaden my tutoring experiences and skills! Lessons will be structured around the goals and needs of each individual student, with the flexibility to change and develop the structure and frequency of activities depending on how useful and impactful the student is finding it. Ultimately, I want the sessions to be both effective and engaging for the student, so if you already have some strategies that work for you, please let me know and we can incorporate it into the lesson.

I am a qualified Paediatric nurse, qualified from the University of Birmingham and studied A-level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at Winstanley College. I have been a tutor for 3 years and have enjoyed working with every single one of my students. I offer on line classes which are 1:1 and I am flexible in terms of when lessons are offered. As a past student I also had the help from other tutors and teachers myself, to help boost my confidence which has helped to get to where I am today. I understand that school and learning can be tough for some children which is why I like to get to know my students and the way they like to learn so that I can prepare their lessons individually to them. The subjects I offer are those which I am passionate about myself which is important when it comes to teaching because a positive attitude in the subjects can make a difference when someone else is trying to learn. My lessons are organised before they run ahead and they vary from learning the syllabus, revision lessons, past paper questions, application to the real world to help understand the topic better and watching short videos for those who prefer learning visually. As a children's nurse I work with children who all require their own different, individual needs and some require more or less independence than others. My experience as a nurse has helped me to understand children and young adults a lot better than I did before which is why I love being a tutor as well. I get to work with them constantly to help make a difference in their lives whether it is through healthcare or education and it feels very rewarding. I am always available to answer any questions my students have and can be contacted whenever is suitable to them. If you have any questions don't hesitate to drop me a message, I would love to hear from you all!

I am offering tuition in a variety of subjects at both primary, secondary and GCSE level. I am an undergraduate student who is currently working as a Teaching Assistant in a school so am very up to date with the current syllabuses and learning techniques. Through working as a TA I have experience working with children on a 1:1 basis helping them develop academically and building their confidence in those subjects which they may struggle or need extra support. I will strategically plan each session so that its tailored to the individuals needs and what they aim to get out of them. I usually have a conversation a week prior to starting tuition to see how I can best help and prepare for the sessions. Where necessary I am happy to give out practice questions if these would benefit the student, mark them and give feedback in order to optimise learning.

I studied at Culford School and achieved nine GCSE and three A-level grades. For GCSE, I received Maths (A*), Biology (7), Chemistry (7), Physics (7), Physical Education (9) and at A-levels, I received Psychology (A), Physical Education (A*)and Biology (C). Now I study Criminology and Forensic Studies and the University of Portsmouth. I have tutored children in my old school at Culford in afterschool activities with their homework and revision for upcoming tests and exams. I also coach hockey at level 2, which is a form of teaching as you teach children a skill before they have My first lesson will consist of getting to know you and your learning style. The basic structure of my lessons is split into three sections. Firstly introduction activities to your topic, activities that engage the brain. Next is the main part of the sessions, where we would go through the content and then go through questions or a game to embed learning. Finally, to end the session, we would review the session where you tell me how you felt the session went, what I can improve on, what you feel went well and what you still need to work on. I love hockey, competing and coaching. Exercise is good for your mental health, and I love to play hockey; at University, I am on the girls' first team. In my downtime, I love to do some drawing and painting. I am no professional, but it's such a relaxing activity. Singing is another activity I do when I am by myself as it helps me express myself and a chance to belt out my favourite tunes.

I am an Italian student living in London. I frequented my high school in Italy, where I obtained top grades. I am currently on my 2nd year of Uni at UCL, studying psychology. In the past years I have frequently held tutoring lessons for students of my school, and they all got excellent grades. My teaching style is extremely precise and goes in depth, nothing is going to be left behind. Studying psychology, then, I am very passionate in creating a positive and engaging environment with the student. I am extremely careful in understanding what are the needs of the students and which teaching style is the most appropriate, tailoring the tutoring sessions individually, in order to get the best possible outcomes.

The 16 marker essays in Psychology take skill to write. You need a strong introductory statement (or argument), use a minimum of 3 case studies to back up your point, and a counter argument. You also need to analyse the evidence and the flaws of experimental studies, to show an objective view. All this information should back up your argument and be stated in a conclusion.
