Hi, my name is Mohamed and I'm a graduate from UCL with a degree in Physics and I have 4 years experience tutoring A Level maths. Throughout my work as a tutor, I've noticed that many students lack the understanding of where certain concepts in maths that they learn in school come from, which in turn usually leads them to not being able to pick out important information in questions that they may find in their exams. This sets the foundation of how I approach tutoring. So I always take time to explain what the purpose is of performing a certain mathematical calculation. I also believe that its very important for students to be interested in the subjects that they're learning. I personally still love seeing how maths and physics is used in the real world and this is something I like to share with the students I tutor to help them develop an appreciation for the subject that they're learning.

I am currently studying Biochemistry at University of Oxford having finished schooling at North London Collegiate School where I gained 45/45 in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. I have had previous experience tutoring IB biology, chemistry, English, maths and economics as well as GCSE French, English, maths, biology and chemistry. I believe in altering my teaching style according to the student and have had experience in tutoring a variety of different academic abilities and ages. I am extremely organised and am happy to go above and beyond in regards to preparation and gathering resources to help the student. My experience in tutoring for IB and GCSE means that I am good at ensuring that all parts of the syllabus are covered and that the student is well informed of what’s expected in the exam. One of my IB students was recently admitted to Tufts University in Massachusetts while other students that I am currently tutoring for SAT are currently applying for numerous highly ranked American Universities.

I am a trained professional physicist, having studied at both undergraduate and graduate levels at two of the worlds leading universities, and currently working as a radiotherapy physicist in an NHS hospital cancer treatment centre. I have 6 years experience in tutoring in physics and mathematics one-to-one and in small groups, with students of primary school age through to university undergraduates. I also have one year of experience working as a TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) instructor to Japanese students. As a professional physicist I am highly skilled and knowledgeable not only in physics, but also mathematics, statistics, computer programming and IT systems. I take a keen interest in all areas of science, and can confidently tutor in all of these subjects up to A-level. I have always been fascinated by science, and as a high school student was initially interested in studying medicine. Unfortunately, I found myself feeling faint at the sight of blood and guts, and doubts as to my suitability for the profession began to creep into my mind. I had an amazing physics teacher at A-level, who inspired me to instead pursue physics at university. I excelled in my undergraduate studies and then progressed on to PhD level overseas, where I undertook fundamental research in experimental nuclear physics. This involved smashing atoms together using a particle accelerator in order to understand the properties of nuclear matter, reactions such as nuclear fusion and nuclear fission, as well as to synthesise new 'superheavy' chemical elements that do not exist in nature! Funnily enough, my experience working with particle accelerators, electronics, and radiation detector technology lends itself very handily to working in the healthcare sector, both in the treatment of cancer using high energy X-rays, and in various diagnostic imaging techniques using both ionising and non-ionising radiation. So I have now come more or less full circle from my high school ambitions to work in medicine, except now I get to avoid the blood and guts! During my GCSE years, in fact I really didn't enjoy physics due to poor teaching at school, and strongly considered not taking the subject at A-level- I only did so reluctantly in the belief that it would aid my application for medicine. Without the excellent teaching that was provided by my A-level teacher, I am sure I would have followed a very different and perhaps less satisfying path. When I tell people I am a physicist, I often receive replies of 'Oh wow! You must be so smart!' Many people struggle with physics and maths in school, and are highly intimidated by the subject. What if I told you that physics, based upon the fundamental rules of nature, is in fact the easiest subject in science? It is my goal as a tutor to transform their perception of physics from an intimidating subject that must be endured throughout school and then never thought of again, to a way of thinking and a toolbox of skills that will be useful for their future in many aspects of life. In tutoring in my subject I hope that I can instill a curious interest in the fundamental aspects of nature such as my favourite teacher did for me, as well as keeping my own understanding of physical principles and teaching skills sharp for use in my science career.

Hello, I’m a graduate of Brunel University with a BSc in International Business. I teach Maths, Economics, Marketing and Business studies and have taught over 100 students of ages 11-21. I’ve been teaching for the last five years throughout my studies and am now a full time tutor. I am young, fun and friendly, keeping my lessons relatable and engaging for my students. I focus on applying knowledge to exam technique as this can sometimes be the most challenging part of the course! I make sure to spend plenty of time showing students how to plan answers to achieve maximum marks - I have a brilliant structure which students can easily use for any essay based questions. I tailor my tuition to suit the student, maintaining a comfortable pace whilst challenging the student to reach their full potential and build confidence in the subject. It's important to keep lessons fun so I use a range of activities and "real life" examples relating to the course to make sure the student can enjoy learning the subject as much as possible.

Currently, I am a student at King’s College University, where I am studying computer science. I have spent the last few years teaching mathematics at A-level and GCSE level. Through this I have gained the knowledge and experience of how to create a supportive learning environment, in which effort and success can be maximised. Job Role: Private Maths Tutor Presently I am a private tutor, I focus primarily on A-level maths and GCSE students, and tutor them 1 to 1. This is so that the student can have my undivided attention, which also allows for a better opportunity to engage in real communication. This means better feedback tailored specifically for the student. Job Role: Head A-level Maths Tutor The modules I am experienced in are: core, further maths and statistics. I have experience teaching a class of 5+ students studying different modules. I have a solid knowledge of the modules I teach and can guarantee my students will achieve a high level of understanding and will have the practical skills to attempt questions on their own by tailoring my teaching style to fit their needs. Job Role: Summer Camp Tutor I taught on a summer course, which was aimed at 7-14 year olds. The course was technology related and focused on programs such as Scratch, Java programming and touch typing etc. During my time there, I attended meetings with parents at the end of the camp to give feedback to ensure they were a part of their children’s academic journey, to ultimately be as supportive as they can at home.

I am a very hands on tutor who expects his students to also be engaged in the material. I like to cover theory for the first part of lessons, and then attempt different types of questions that address those different theoretical concepts. I have experience in teaching students Mathematics at all school levels - KS (1,2,3), GCSE (and IGCSE), A Level, IB, and Degree level, and Economics and Business Studies at GCSE (and IGCSE), A-Level, and IB. I can also assist on assignments for your school, college, or degree. I believe that practice makes perfect, not just while studying but in most aspects of one's life. This means learning concepts alone simply isn't enough to be a better student, it always needs to be supplemented with practicing different questions about every aspect of the topic. I am a patient person who is always trying my best to understand the underlying reason why someone might be finding a concept hard, and always try to take my time to find a long term solution instead of a short term fix.

Alongside this I have 2 years tutoring experience in Maths and English and have seen significant improvements in several students during this time. Making the difference is my main objective as well as making lessons fun. I have worked with students both on a one to one basis and in groups. This has also included online tuition via Skype/Zoom alongside more traditional face to face tuition. I believe that my excellent communication skills and solid academic background enable me to be an effective tutor within my subject fields.

I have a wealth of experience in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Finance and Accounting, and Musical Theory. I am able to tutor in all of these areas to a high level, having studied all of them myself to a high level (having gained the associated qualifications in each instance). As mentioned above, I am very enthusiastic about all of these subjects, whilst being very patient, with the ability to break concepts down as needed. I am able to tutor for school entrance exams also (I have personally experienced the 7+ and 11+ exams, and I am very aware of the current attainment levels required by the country’s top schools).
